Wow! honesty to the bone! What I do not understand is why people keep going back to these cowboys, even though they are not satisfied with the progress. You are like a breath of fresh air. I live in Sweden and I have been loc-ed for 4 years now, I have made mistakes but they are mine, not some greedy money grabbing charlatan. I am sure I shall gain from your input. Subscribing now. Thank you

I have had locks for years, i moisture my hair, not my scalp. When you put oil on the scalp you block the poors. I realized black hair is fragile because we don't have natural oils. Have regular hot oil treatment and use a good conditioner and moisturizer. Keep hair covered when you sleep.

I appreciate your honesty. If more stylist were like you they'd have more return business & more referrals than they could handle.I have dredlocks 3/4 down my back.I'm in the process of having them cut. I wish YOU were in Cincinnati! I would be making my way to YOUR shop TODAY Bro! :) It is obvious that you know what you are doing. Please recommend products from your line. My hair & scalp gets dry quickly.I'm also interested in a deep cleaning shampoo/conditioner. Please reply soon! :) Thanks!

what is the less expensive approach towards products that do work. I've seen a number of videos that use eco-styler gel because it did not have alcohol. What do you think abuout that...because that is what I have been using since November and I don't want to use it if it is going to cause damage in the long haul. I want a set routine but I dont know who trust in regards to products.

Maaaan! I agree with you 120% I have personally never went to a stylist or loctician because like you said our hair will naturally loc up so Im not paying hundreds of dollars for "neat locs" My mom went to an African Loc shop and her locs became thin and she almost lost a few...I had to save her locs and they was charging her so much money. I also agree with essential oils and water and other products you suggested

All of the RELIGION OF LOCS, is akin to saying ; (1) not EVERYONE who smokes cigarettes will develop lung cancer or heart disease (2) not EVERYONE who has diabetes will have an amputation or develop kidney failure or go blind (3) not EVERYONE who uses heroin or meth will overdose (5) not EVERYONE who drives at 100 mph will have a deadly car crash So what the hell, if I lose ANY of my hair follicles, so what A HAIRSTYLE is WORTH THE RISK OF BALDNESS. None of these RISKS are REQUIRED to LIVE. Nor is a HAIRSTYLE REQUIRED to LIVE. THAT is what I am hearing.

PREACH, Damian!!!! This is exactly why I went natural and REFUSE to let any so-called stylist mess with my hair. So many of them are scissor-happy, conniving, greedy folks. Oh, and don't get me started on some African hair braiders...goodness! It's truly a blessing to find an honest and trustworthy hair stylist who really CARES about the health of your hair.

I have never gone to cosmetology school. But i have 11 year old healthy locs maintained by me. Over the years i have been victim to the mainstream products that I was told to use by so called professionals. I have found what works for me and my locs are long moisturized from root to tip. Its about doing the research to know what to do, because not everyone knows what to do with locs, and I live near DC and everyone and they momma do locs, and i don't me do them well. Its all about the money

Great Topic! I have so many clients with locs that need repairing. Many of them have received poor information and unfortunately even when I try to re-educate them, they sometimes second guess what I tell them. Yes, I started as a Braider and progressed into doing locs, BUT I did my due diligence (thorough) in researching proper techniques, products, understanding hair textures, etc to maintain the integrity of my clients hair. As always....great vid & I LOVE watching your vids !

I'm a loc newbie (16months). My locs were styled by a braid technician for the 1st six months. She moved away and I never searched for a credible loctician until now. Ive researched and understand what I want but need professional guidance to achieve that. I tried the AT HOME process and was somewhat successful until having weight loss surgery which drs added vitamins & supplements to my already 5pill per day regimen. I'm a lupus sufferer who HAS to take meds. I now have thin, curly hair (due to years of chemicals, sew in weaves & too tight braids). I've made the huge mistake of watching & following OTHER you tube stylists. I know, DUMB/STUPID. LMBO! I recently found your videos and haven't stopped watching. I'm now experiencing thin locs & breakage and am in desperate need of seriously a CREDIBLE, KNOWLEDGEABLE loctician here in Philadelphia, Pa. I So,

Hey Damian question for you, my locs were medium in size but since I bleached my hair the locs itself became thin(ish). Is there anything I can do to make it look fluffy again. Also how long could I semi-freeform for? I'm hoping this will also make my roots get back thick. Last question is twisting/palm roll better than using the locing needle?
