Used to work at WDW in Orlando and took a tour of the Haunted Mansion. Not only do the ashes get vacuumed, they have to call in a biohazard crew to do that. Shuts down the ride for hours and earns you a park ban. And if you’re curious, the radio code for this is a “Code Grandma.”

Imagine if Mickey Mouse or one of the many other characters took their head off? That would break the magic. Disney can’t have that happen. What’s more likely to happen is that one of the staff will guide the character to the closest area where they can get into the tunnel system under the park. They would send out employees who were just wearing uniforms, security, or they might even have paramedics on site to quickly whisk the person to wherever they can get an ambulance to take the woman

I worked at Disneyland (in Downtown Disney) back in 2003-06 and there were definitely specific procedures for handling certain common things people would do, and all of them were definitely made to make you feel like you upset Disneyland and feel bad. Like if they caught teenagers trying to get handsy on a dark ride (they all have IR cameras), they would slow the ride, then have someone pop out of the dark and quietly say "Hey, don't do that, okay?" then the ride would start again. They want you to stop the behavior but not feel like you have to leave unless you're someone who is NOT going to stop at a reasonable point, then they will make you leave.

It's one of these articles that basically cites the actions of a few disturbed individuals and inflates that into a cultural phenomenon. With the amount of people who go to Disneyland annually, it's hardly surprising there would be a few specific cases of this type. It doesn't mean shit and tells us nothing about anything except that the media is a myth machine. The media probably created or at least propagated the "lifetime pass for giving birth" myth in the first place, and then busted that myth by replacing it with another myth. I'm dubious of the human remains story, too. Anyone can claim to be a representative as an "unnamed source" and no one will ever know for sure because journalists don't name sources (who are often paid for their information by the journalist). Perhaps it happened once or twice but I wouldn't be surprised if it never did.

They gave us a big basket with tickets to replace the day we spent in the hospital, a bunch of the line-skipping passes, various Disney character themed candies, and a DVD of the recently released movie 'Cars.' (If you want to feel old, 'Cars' came out almost 20 years ago.) So the "give birth at Disney Land for lifetime passes" rumor never really seemed that off-base to me. After all, they upgraded our Disney excursion simply because my mother's kidney decided to expel some calcified stones.

@Basghetti Wigs Enthusiast Guild actually historically more babies would be born alive in home assisted births, while medical births higher likely-hood of death, obv now we have much better medical assistance but doesn't change the fact that home births aren't inherently dangerous, studies also show women in calmer environments have healthier births, hospital vs home births is basically convenience vs comfort, a hospital birth can be destructive in many ways such as Epidural mishaps, failed c-sections etc, both HAVE risks, neither is inherently better, a gyno can tell you that,

As a cast member at Walt Disney world, I’d like to point out two things: 1, I am not trained to help deliver your child so I would really rather not, and 2, I’ve never heard of a lifetime pass being a thing that has ever existed at Disney parks. We have annual passes which you have to pay for… well, annually. That’s about it.

@@NF-pk5mo they work very similarly to annual passes, yes. You link them to your account on my Disney experience and then you just use them in the place of regular admission tickets. Sometimes park availability is a little more limited, but they’re now starting to move away from the reservation system (which was implemented during the pandemic) anyway. Today for example, I’m off work and there are no reservations required, and I might go over to EPCOT to ride a few rides and have a drink or two😊

The Galactic Starcruiser was such a cool idea, but even the steep price for guests wasn't enough to keep it afloat because they had to pay so much for all the employees (who were also all basically actors) on the "ship." It could only accommodate 400 guests at a time. If they had made it large enough to support like 2000 guests each weekend, that would make more sense, but it would then require even *more* employees, so I think they would have to pare down on the interactive experiences, making it more similar to just a normal hotel, which would then be less attractive to Star Wars fans. They also weren't allowed to feature the older storylines and older characters (besides the ones who showed up in the new movies), which was what most Star Wars fans would've preferred. I think it's a concept that can totally work, but you'd really need to test it out for a while and work out all the kinks prior to the official opening, I think. Not to mention, this is when the pandemic was still pretty bad, so there just wasn't as much interest as there could've been. I think it's something they could definitely revisit in the future, and just try to take the various critiques into account (like the lack of windows in the rooms - maybe have the windows look out into little atrium areas that have plantlife from whatever unique planet you're on. Though I guess you're supposed to be in deep space, so that wouldn't make sense... I dunno, but I'm sure there's some way they could make it feel less claustrophobic in the rooms).
@Oli.V2 жыл бұрын
Technically, story living is just disney finally acting on Walt’s last wish. Originally Epcot was supposed to be a city (Epcot stands for Experimental Prototype City Of Tomorrow) and everyone who lived there either worked for the town or Disney directly and you weren’t allowed to retire you would just be given another job “according to your ability” so yeah, sounds like hell.
