Thanks for the video. I just bought 2017 Husqvarna TE 250withMikuni TMX 38. The part about it being level was right on. I looked at mine and adjusted till it looked level. Low end blubber now gone and crisp from bottom. This helped and no measurements were used. Thank a lot.

Dallas Knoll Low end blubber... Kinda that fluttery bit before sounding normal? Think this is what I'm experiencing. Currently get overflow of fuel easily.

I had exactly the same problem with my 300 EXC. It even lost fuel under hard braking. I set the float level that it shuts off a bit earlier, installed a 38 PJ and I also used the Suzuki needle, but after some testing with JD needles I decided to use those and it just runs perfect. Nice video thx for sharing.

Re-route the bowl drain tube up through and over the right side drain tube bracket, making a loop above the fuel level in the bowl. You'll notice that mileage goes up, and that the tube is dry at the bottom where it used to be wet after rough riding.

Older&Wiser that sounds like a wicked idea bud. Just curious do you know of a possible downside by doing such a thing? Sounds legit. I've heard a few people mention it but nobody can seem to tell me if there's a possible negative effect.

only neg is a tiny bit of fuel sitting in the airbox boot behind the air filter
@williammckenney35904 жыл бұрын
I just discovered this recently, I have a 250EXC, I checked my bike, it was already done. You are correct, the tube should be routed over the top of the carburator.

What was the float level BEFORE you adjusted it ? No one has mentioned this important fact.

Superb explanation - i'm going to set both our bikes up today. Many thanks.

Just to share a story to relate to some of your guys's pain. I just bought a brand new 2018 Husqvarna 300TX. Dead my first 15 to 30 minute break and ride around my property. The next day I took it for a 3 hour ride and burned a full tank of gas (10 liters) and was boring fuel to get home. Within the first week I've had my bike in the shop twice and it still there now. But if it comes back like crap I will definitely be checking the float level seeing as I also found myself losing fuel when tilting the bike 30 degrees. LOL people go running to turn their bike off when they lay it over I'm running to turn off the fuel valve LOL

Jamie Brasnyo sounds like you're having some troubles there! Definatly check your float level and adjust it if necessary. Also I recommend changing the jetting. Stock bikes are set up too rich so jetting really helps. See my other video about jetting. Good luck mate 👍

Enduro Boy UK that's what we're playing with now. It's the first quarter to half the throttle that is out of whack. Once the RPMs are up and you're shifting with plenty of momentum the bike runs magnificent but the low-end grunting is just not there it's so depressing with a brand new bike. But hey thank you for the quick reply really appreciate it

Any update on it? :)
@jbraz87 жыл бұрын
Nir Hason was off a little bit but enough I guess. I rerouted my fuel drain hose and put in a smaller main jet but fixing the float level definitely decreased the amount of fuel pouring out when the bike fell over. Problem fixed
@NirHason7 жыл бұрын
That was quick haha. Rerouted the fuel drain hose in which way?

Awesome video, this and your other carb video will help me a lot. I have a 250sx set up for the trails and wanna try the same jetting and needle that was recommended to you. I ride from sea level to around 2,000 ft in elevation.
@sw-freeride8 жыл бұрын
thanks glad you like the videos! although this set up is for a 300exc so it may be slightly different set up for 250sx you will need to find out mate. still the same process of making sure your float is completely level first tho 👍

Hi enduro boy! What about if you set the carburetor as it stays on the bike,and then blow a air through the hose? And checking the float level by supporting the float itself with a finger? It's that correct, or could do the job? Just asking. And thanks for the great video!
@sw-freeride8 жыл бұрын
Hi. It's best to take the carb off if you want to do it properly. I wouldn't recommend leaving it on. It's simple to remove. Cheers glad you like the vid and hope it's helped you.
@khosikhosi89323 жыл бұрын
i think i get exactly what you mean,and i think thts the best way of checking since its going to be seating like tht anyways however i advise u check level using a clear hose connected to the drain plug.

hi just had my carb apart and noticed the jets,main jet,idle jet which are located in middle, and the small jet on its own marked 85, just placed next to idle jet, do you know what the jet on its own is for?

nice video bro and I need your advice where I can buy carburetor for my Duke 620cc 1996 model?
@sw-freeride7 жыл бұрын
Kubwa la Maadui I would think eBay would be your best bet for that. not sure if anyone would make a new one but you could try fowlers motorcycles in Bristol they might know. Cheers

my Carb is still good but I have issue like yours it consumes a lot of fuel more than a lot so the mechanic told might be throttle needle or plug problem I don't which exactly so any advice?

I don’t know if you can see it????? Well how about move the camera bud
@biggussniffus5537 Жыл бұрын
I hold the carb upwards as if the carb was installed in the bike, then attach a fuel hose onto the carb and blow through it until the needle seats and blocks the airflow then adjust accordingly.

Would you say your jetting was out....or just the float height... I watched both your videos..... Very clear and informative...thank you... I'm looking for a exc 300 as I write.. not sure weather to get carb or injection
@sw-freeride6 жыл бұрын
lewis eyers hello! It was my float level that wasn't correct when I bought the bike. That caused fuel to come out the overflow when I was riding or if the bike was lent over only a small amount. I 're jetted it to get even better fuel range. Bike still runs well to this day and it's still on the same piston. Cheers
