No FOMO... All your info is WRONG!!! Right Now January-February is the best time to get a current gen TV. Stores want to clear out inventory for the soon to be incoming 2021 models and prices are ant the lowest they will get. I just went to my local BestBuy yesterday and the only thing out of stock was the Vizio OLED.

I bought my LG C1 65 " OLED one week before Super bowl Sunday for two reasons. 1) They price was the same as on Black Friday and 2) The Shopping Channel in Canada sets up payments over one year, so it doesn't hit your wallet all at once. Doesn't get any better than that. 🇨🇦

Good Video!, What about the Flagship to Flagship this year 2021? The jump looks big this year with QNED. In the UK all the TV’s are price fixed. I found most deal days are based on inventory, resellers only discount what they need to shift volume. I found you have to take your time and keep a very close eye on all the main sellers. I noticed this week Samsung dropped the flagships by 1000 pounds this week. I did get a good Black Friday deal on My Sonos Arc but I have to wait till late February for delivery.

Very bad advice when it comes to TVs, if you buy when a TV has just been released you'll end up paying up to 60% more than when its discounted. RRP on TVs are ridiculously overpriced.

@@dodgexander thats part of doing your research. Or if you prefer call it due diligence. Also, buying when you need, does not always mean buying when on a sale. You could preemptively buy one earlier than "need", and again, pay of the research.

Great info FOMO! I usually start my research around September or october, I check what tvs have good reviews online and youtube. I narrow it down to 2-4 tvs and i walk into Best Buy to look at them in person and look at the picture quality. And find the one i like most. Once i go home, i scavenge Reddit, youtube and AVS forums if there's any calibration settings that i can get for free (so much better than paying best buy to calibrate and i always want a good calibrated tv) when I'm set on a specific model, i wait until Black friday. I got a LG cx oled for $1849.00 and good thing I checked LG's website and it turns out that they had a rebate if purchase a specific model during black friday. So i got a free Bluetooth speaker worth $100 for free.

In some instances year to year improvements could be very significant: 2021 Sony lineup all models have same TOP TIER processor as well as HDMI 2.1 - that's a big deal this year. Last year most clouns were limited to 900H coz only that model had HDMI 2.1.

Hey FOMO - you have reviewed the Hisense H8g - PC Richard has a 55inch H8G for $400. Im not a particular person when it comes to TV. My concern is ivve read about the Android TV and mixed reviews. Im more knowledgeable about ROKU which I like. Have heard limitations on gig size the the Hisense. Should i get the H*G 55 at 400 or go with the 2020 TCL 535 or TCL 635? Just seems 400 for a 55 inch on a well reviewed H8g might be a great deal. Mixed reviews on its quality from people who have bought. Your thoughts?

Hi everyone, I need some advice. I found a killer deal at a local BB for an floor model for a Samsung Q800 8K QLED 75” for $1500 and I have two year warranty on it. I also my first OLED LG C1 OLED 55 inch for the $1500 with two year warranty. The Q800 has some really band banding and DSE, which I found out is normal. 4K movies you can’t really see but I know it’s there. I’ve ran all the 4k and 8k demo videos and they are pretty good without seeing the banding and DSE. The LG C1 blacks and contrast are perfect but it’s not as bright and it’s smaller. Should I return both and wait for QD-OLED. Or return both and get C1 77”. Or return the LG C1 55” and keep the Samsung Q800 75” since I got a killer deal on it. Thanks for any advice.

q90t was cheapest $3500 for 85 inch in the USA for like a week or two before Black Friday and the 900h was 2k for the 85in but when Black Friday came 90t went back up in price to 4500 for 85 inch and the Sony went back up as well shortly after and hasn't really moved. Think if you want a sale on big screens you got to keep your guard up from November all the way until February.

Yep, the LG CX to C1 is not much of an upgrade considering the CX discounts we'll be seeing this year while the upgrade to the G1 would be a significant improvement to brightness, the premium is very steep. However, the Samsung QN90A is an intriguing improvement over the Q90T and one I would definitely select over last year's model.

@@stopthefomo what about when it comes to Sony, should I wait until next year, for Sony to release a mini or micro led, tv, or should I buy a Sony oled this year, I’m looking for the best tv, for video games, and movies, meaning I’m looking for great motion, and great color, so I would prefer to stick with lg or Sony, or at least a Dolby Vision tv, though I’d prefer a 12 bit tv, where if Sony will not be releasing a mini led, this year, I’m hoping they will get it next year, with a 12 bit panel, hopefully (I can hope right?) but who knows.... I don’t even know if Sony will have 12 bit tv’s next year, let alone a mini led, but I can hope, right?

I've always heard that the game day sales and right before it becomes discontinued is best. Hasn't the lg cx seen a price drop? I got mine on sale for $1350 and best buy says that's a 500 dollar savings. But lgs site has it at $1500. Sometimes the blackfriday sale price reflects the bottom line. But you usually see black Friday prices again.

I really love the inky blacks of OLED but my potential extreme use case scenarios will most likely cause burn in my expected usage period. The Mini LED options are very limited, however: over here TCL and Hisense only sell really budget TVs. Seems like this year the only interesting models that will hence be available are the Samsung 65QN90A (the more expensive option, no Dolby Vision though...) and the LG 65QNED90 (most likely a cheaper option, although we'll see how well Mini LED and IPS play together or rather how much will IPS hold the Mini LED backlight back) which will essentially be the only 4K Mini LEDs in my country this year. Also really interested in seeing how the whole VRR gamma thing is going to be handled this year in non self-emissive TVs!

I screenshotted the B&H Photo price before they removed it: X90J: available on late March, 50''-> 1299, 55''->1399, 65''-> 1799, 75''->2499 X95J: available on mid June, 65''->2299, 75''->3499, 85''->4999 A80J: available on early April, 55''->2199, 65''->2799, 77''->4499 A90J: link, available on mid February (83'' on May), 55''->2999, 65''->3999, 83''->7999(!)X92J: No information yet FOMO in his video the other day confirmed these prices and listed LG 65 inch G1 @ $4000 too. Not sure where he got that but he listed it. To answer your last question, NO NUTS NO GLORY! I'm excited to purchase A90J or LG Evo and don't mind being on the cutting edge. I will say the method Sony is using they copy from Panasonic heat sink and they have used it well last few years so at least that method itself is not as new. According to Robert Zohn from Value Electronic it also has proved to get LESS burn in over time. Good luck whatever you choose! Hope we both enjoy for years to come!

As someone who works at one of the biggest retail stores for electronics, I think the best time to buy is early in the week of Black Friday, this year there has been to many disappointments with inventory levels that it's better to buy it a few days early, to not risk having it sold out.

Thank you so much for this. I am finally putting my 55 inch LG 3D television aside and getting a 80+ flagship television. I'm way overdue. I've been making periodic trips to Best Buy to see if prices drop, but they haven't. I've heard that the spring time is when the newer models come out, so I guess I can wait until then. I just hope this money doesn't burn a hole in my pocket before then.

Are there any more major models not released yet? I thought all of them are out now. Personally, I want a Sony for PS5 but I won't buy one till both the Sony TV and the PS5 get the VRR and ALLM updates. If I don't hear solid news before Black Friday, I'll wait till next year's Black Friday and buy one. Till then, I am gladly rocking my 11 year old 1080p 46" Sony. I plan on getting a flagship LCD 65" Sony that supports ALLM and VRR.
