Out of all the Stephen King movies and miniseries Storm of the Century, Rose Red, The Stand, Misery and IT are my favorite ones. I used to be so scared as well, especially watching it when the lights are off, lol.

When I watched this, it was a MOVIE.. on VHS 📼 tape. & it was separated onto TWO different tapes because it was so long.

When I first saw Storm of the Century it was aired on ABC as a mini-television series then a couple months later it was on VHS. Most people called it a movie, most people called it a mini-series either way it was still good.

One aspect I found fascinating is Andre never revealed Molly's darkest secret nor alluded to it in any way, shape, or form odd given how he treated everyone else on Little Tall. I think there are two possibilities 1) Molly's secret was so horrible if revealed Mike would leave her and everyone in the town would hate her 2) My favorite, Ralphie is actually Andre's biological son, not Mike's. I favor this theory because Molly seemed to recognize Andre when she saw him, and then she urged Mike to kill him later on when the option came up.

The fact that the Andre said to Ralphie, "I know you" made me question who that man truly was. I knew that Ralphie was Andre's favorite child which he wanted to take.

@@homegown1234 Yes, and when Ralphie said that is what my daddy calls it (his birthmark the "fairy saddle") Andre replied "You bet" as if he was talking about himself before adding "Speaking of your daddy, here he comes now". At the very least, I agree he favored Ralphie from the start. He had no interactions with the other kids aside from after he put them all to sleep,

@@JasonFoxTheGreat - Whenever I see this movie again I get emotional because I feel for Mike who loved his son but can't get Ralphie out of his mind and heart. It must be so devastating, also, for Molly - I don't know if I would have married his buddy because that would not bring "Ralphie" back.

Just finished watching the movie again and I think your right about ralphie being the chosen one from the start and I also think mike was the only one who could have killed him at the end,why tell them to stop him when mike pulls his gun, he can control people so why not stop him yourself? Great video and movie!

I agree. I think that Andre knew what child to pick and knew that Mike was the key to stopping him. The ending was sad when Mike had seen Ralphie again.

To be honest, the real villain was not Andre Linoge, but was the town's people all along. The reason for is because AL knew all of their dark and personal secrets that they kept from each other. From the unknown marijuana business, to cheating / abortions, or even abandoning a mother to die while at a brothel. In general, all of those actions can create bad karma and have dire consequences for those who are loved ones. What do you all think about my theory; is it possible that their actions were able to welcome AL because of their true natures?
@WelcomeToTheDarkside
@WelcomeToTheDarkside 7 ай бұрын
You are spot-on with your theory. I do believe it shows people their true colors of who they are when it comes to difficult situations you will never know until they are put to the test. Mike was the only person who figured out who Andre Linoge was and his purpose. Linoge wanted Mike to open his eyes and see that those townspeople are not as good as they seem.

@@WelcomeToTheDarkside, this is no different than politics and religion. Politics is the dirtiest job here in America. It's very difficult who's really responsible for what goes down in our great nation. Because we forget what the purpose of religion is, we tend to teach children how to look down on others. In fact, the purpose of religion is to help find peace and happiness. The point is we need to lead by example, if we the people are determined to live a better life.

What upsets me that Molly was a fool for not paying attention to her son while in the store to allow that stranger to pick up her child without her knowledge and Mike was just as upset as she was over that stranger kissing his son on his nose.

Stephen King deliberately wrote this for television in three parts. It's a television miniseries, not a movie. It was written specifically for television and not for big screen movie theaters. It's no different than The Stand, which is another TV miniseries. Irregardless, it's an absolute masterpiece of writing from the King of horror.

Personally I don't think Andre could have made town's people do a massive suicide yes it was implied he did it in past with different town, however we also see struggle with controlling one person in one scene couldn't make Billy kill Kat.

The only good decision was the one they made. They had the illusion of a choice because the alternative was certain death. Is there a chance that the main villain couldn't do what he claimed? Yes but unlikely given he showed the power to manipulate people the entire series. He showed that so they would make the right choice because otherwise had he asked for the children right off the back they wouldn't have believed his threats. I do wonder why he didn't just take the child though.

The child has to be given to Linoge,, he couldn't just take the child because he wouldn't be able to turn a child without them granting freewill for the boy to be trained by him and shown the ways of a Sorcerer! It was a very interesting movie by King with a great ending that at the end showed the boy being turned by his new Father!
