Stormy Flight - Air France B777 NEW Business Class to New York

I flew on Air France's new Business Class seat on their refurbished B777-300/ER from Paris to New York. The weather in New York was bad with rain and low visibility. Watch the exciting landing at JFK.
The newly configured Air France B777-300/ER has 48 Business Class suites, 48 Premium Economy class seats and 273 Economy seats. It features a privacy door in Business class. Row 1 and 9 has a massive footwell and extra room due to the bulkhead position. Air France’s new Premium Economy seat comes with a deep recline which is different from the current fixed shell design.
3 refurbished Air France 777-300/ER currently fly between Paris and JFK (AF22/15), Dakar and Rio with this new configuration. 9 more B777 will be refurbished by the end of this year.
Before my flight, I visited the Air France Operation Control Center (OCC) to see how my flight was dispatched. A rare behind-the-scenes discovery! The weather in New York was very bad with rain and low visibility. Our plane was on hold for 40 minutes before cleared to ILS approach on Runway 13L. Watch the exciting landing at JFK.

The backs of the seats are stationary. Only the seat itself moves so there is no reason for any person to be bothered. I fly AF 090 and AF 099 to and from Paris every month. Air France has a great business class product. Lately, my last two trips I flew in La Premier - I am now spoiled for life 😢. Oops I just saw what @sirBrouwer was talking about - Sam went back to Premium Coach for a moment 😂

The whole video is great but I absolutely love it when the gentleman comes to speak to Sam in Chinese, as he, himself, is a french-speaking Camaroonian! It really drives home the point that we are all brothers and sisters and that there is such a kinship in speaking each other's languages and enjoying each other's cultures. We should celebrate and enjoy the variety that we share within our human race and stop letting these wonderful things be used as tools to divide us. Sorry for the soapbox rant, but that brief moment in Sam's video really touched my heart.

I like Air France but CDG is very confusing and transfers can take a long time. In four flights to CDG I missed the connection three times. 2-3 hours is the minimum. Oslo only requires 30 minutes.

Air France has been a class act for years, and seems only to be getting better. Flew with them in economy about a year ago, superb flight, from the food, to the staff's attention, the condition of the aircraft, everything. Wish Delta would learn a thing or two from them!

Air Canada as well.. 10 hour flight and I had to pay for food, a tiny bag of chips $4 and a beer $10. A sandwich wrap was $14. Certainly very different from when I was a kid, flying isn't fun anymore.

Sam, Your access is amazing and also so informative!!! I'm curious how you decide in advance where you will fly and which airlines to choose from. Also how you gain access to the pilots and cockpit and hear what they have to say and to see what they are experiencing with your cameras allowed inside is fantastic. I enjoyed the tour of the Air France Ops Center, what a complex organization, with superb technology. Great look at the new AF business class. The hard product looks great in both Business and Premium Economy, not so sure about the food. AF business class food seems a step down from my personal favorite, Turkish. As Air France renew its fleet it might be good considering doing it too with its crew which, at times, gives you that feeling they only stay there in order to get one day their retirement pension full rate... so exhausted from this job life you don't want to take any risk of disturbing them.. lol ! At least I didn't get a change of scenery from Delta or AA

I complaim. And I dont speak french, even english I speak enough, but I have zero shy for talk and ask. Polite way of course kkk I try. In KLM For example I have good moments, a flight attendant and probably chief flight attendant was very kind and with attitude for help me, and try hard undestand me in my not fluent english. Everything work well.
