The reason many people say that the forbidden fruit exists is to allow Adam and Eve to follow him willingly and trust him. If there were no tree of knowledge they would have no choice but to follow him. So it’s more of a loyalty test.

Exactly. God gives us free will to decide if we want to follow Him or not because He loves us so much. If there wasn't a choice in the first place, that would be forcing us to follow Him. This proves how great His love for us is.

The Tree of Knowledge was the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. It wasn’t just all knowledge, it was just knowledge of good and evil. They knew what was ‘good’ but also now knew what was ‘evil’. They understood the concept of evil and sin… while also committing sin by eating from the tree when God told them not to. Before they ate of the Tree they were innocent, they were naked and saw no issue with it. After they ate of the tree they saw their nakedness and were ashamed of it and covered themselves. Eating of the tree was man’s innocence being lost along with the Original Sin of man.

Christianity, Judaism and Islam are all Abrahamic religions; they share some beleifs and view Abraham as an important figure. The Tanakh is the whole Bible for jews and the first half of the Bible for Christians. Beleifs such as these prophecies being about Jesus and the snake being Satan are held in Christianity but not Judaism. UsefulCharts has a series about the branches of Christianity and in the first video he discusses early christianity and its origins. Jakedoobleyoo has a couple great videos about the first book of the bible; Genesis.

The best crossing between India and the Middle Eastern mindset of the Bible is in that first section. It was not specifically knowlege... it was the "be equal with God". In Indian culture, there are levels of people, and it would be considered a grave insult for a person to try doing or making something to elevate himself above his level... that is what Adam and Eve did. They decided that being human was cool... but being god would be cooler.

3:47 There is term called “blissful ignorance”, which referring to original statements of Adam and Eve. The main idea is that knowing everything is a straggle, that could be felt like curse. Life is not simple anymore. You know that otters are furry demons, how much damage humanity breading upon everyone and meat is made out of enslaved creatures with feelings. Superman from DC serve as great example since he can hear everyone to point he knows who is up to. But, you know, because he is Superman, he do not paying too much attention to it, unless people needs help. Whatever this is old lady is about to fall or meteor is on its way to destroy the Earth. And not to mention, since why God’s creations just trusted some talking snake?! This is like when rebellious teenage son hugging around with some “cool kids”, who exploited him. And in eyes of this son his parents/other friends “just do not understand”.

Christianity is built on Judaism and Islam is (sort of) built on Judaism and Christianity. So the Hebrew Bible basically becomes the Old Testament of the Christian Bible. Think of it ss being similar to the relationship Buddhism and Sikhism have to Hinduism. Hope that helps.

@@amirferdhany3177 Which also raises an issue for Islam. If the Bible was corrupted, then it must have happens some time after the Quran as the Quran tells Christians and Jews to judge Islam based upon their books. The issue Islam then faces is that because the Quran is the uncorrupted word of God (Their claim not mine) that it must be true the Bible was accurate at the time of the Quran. Now if we look at all the versions of the Bible we have prior to the Quran they ALL are the same as the modern Bibles, so if we evaluate the claim "The Bible was corrupted after the Quran" historically it fails. This is an issue because the Bible and the Quran contradict, and the narrative of the corrupted Bible existed to rectify that. If the narrative is wrong, then the Bible and Quran are in contradiction which is a massive issue for Islam.

you can see judaism, christianity and islam as addons that build on each other - judaism (old testament) is the base, christians see Jesus as the guy that was professed in the old testament (jews don't agree) and people make new books that include his teachings (new testament), some time after Jesus dies, Mohamed is born adding more to previous books (koran). So for jews the old testament is the holy book, for christians old and new testament (bible), and for islams old testament, new testament and koran (more or less). Essentially all 3 groups know stories from old testament

The "each book of the bible" refers to the 66 books that make up the bible (39 of the old testament and 27 of the new testament). They are basically texts of varying authors, compiled into the bible. Also (it's different based on denomination) most Christians see themselves as Jews, just having accepted Christ (king of the Jews), being that the Christian God's people were the Jews, to whom he gave his only Son Jesus as sacrifice for our sins and as the King of Gods kingdom on earth. Christians are Jews who recognise Christ as Lord. Or atleast this is how it makes sense to someone who was brought up around Christians but never really jumped in.

The way plenty of Christians have historically been and continue to be cruel to Jews, it seems to me there are Christians who think, "ACKSHUALLY we Christians are THE chosen people of God, and by 'chosen people' we mean special amazing favorite children, and we will exclude and cast out anyone who doesn't fall in line with us, especially those icky demonic Jews! Anyway, time to reread the gospel stories about Jesus "literally-was-a-Jewish-man" Christ loving and helping outcasts." But then there are other Christians who are like, "Oh wow, we need to do God's will on earth as it is in heaven. Let's do like Jesus does in the gospel stories: helping the sick and the poor, letting social outcasts hang out with us, calling out corrupt authority figures, etc." By the way, my Jewish friends have explained to me that in Judaism, "God's chosen people" means something much closer to "the people given the responsibility/burden to uphold all the laws and commandments God gave to them (see Leviticus and Deuteronomy for said laws and commandments), as opposed to anyone else, who isn't expected to be held to those standards."

8:12 And this is where idea (or more of concept) of Jewish people been “chosen people” came from. Since they are descendants of one of the sons of Abraham. Who was chosen by God to try create God’s kingdom on the Earth. Most Jewish really do not care about that, but, of course, there are some radical Judaists who taking it too seriously.

One of the biggest divisions in Christianity (that even cuts across denominations), is between those that take the Bible literally and those that understand the stories metaphorically. When the 1st group talks about truth, they mean whatever is written there is literally true. When the 2nd group talks about truth, they mean that there is a more complex or deeper meaning behind the stories that were never meant to be taken literally. The truth is a deeper truth. The 2nd group generally has a stronger understanding of history, scientific discovery and archaeology, as well.

There _sort of_ are different Bibles in that different denominations include certain books (basically sections) that others don't: -Catholicism includes the Book of Judith and a few others that most Protestant denominations do not include. -There is debate over whether Mormonism counts as Christianity, but _if_ it does, then they have 3 testaments: the Old Testament, the New Testament, and the Book of Mormon. -Then there are apocryphal texts, including the Gospel According to Thomas and the Gospel According to Mary Magdalene. The Council of Nicea decided these books of the Bible didn't belong in the Bible. EDIT: I can't believe I forgot to mention how, possibly, different translations of the Bible _could_ count as different Bibles, but like... idk? Maybe? Maybe not?

By eating from wich Humans Became Their own Moral masters, wich is wjy after eating From It Adam and eve Concluded Nudity is bad and covered themselves. By Becoming our own Moral masters, we Became Sinful by Nature Due to the fact we Conclude different things than God Does in terms of Morality. Best examples: homosexuality, beastiality, abortion, Theft etc. many people conclude different things because we no Longer have an Ultimate Moral Compas, but all Think we are the true moral Master.

Christianity, Judaism, and Islam are Abrahamic religions. Christianity and Judaism both fully agree on the Hebrew Bible. Christian’s accepted Jesus as the messiah, as God (one person of the Holy Trinity), and believe in the New Testament as Gospel Truth. The Muslims do not claim to be the fulfillment of Christianity or Judaism, but claim to be the restoration of both. The Muslims believe that the Torah (Jewish law, first five books of the Old Testament) and the Gospel (first four books of the New Testament) were corrupted and that the Quran is the final revelation from Allah (God in Arabic). While Christianity and Judaism Schism’d over whether Jesus was the messiah, Muslims actually do believe Jesus is the messiah, but go back into Judaism and Christianity and change many things. They reject the Trinity and believe Jesus is only a prophet and not God. They believe many negative things about the descents it Issac (second son of Abraham, father of Israel) because they claim the spiritual lineage of Ishmael, the illegitimate firstborn son of Abraham with his concubine.
