Mr. Dutch Mantell is a gentleman. I meet him when he was in Puerto Rico my father was station at Ft. Buchanan. I approached him, he remained in character but was very respectful. We talk for a few minutes and he said that he liked to be in Puerto Rico and he liked the people. I never heard any fans or wrestler in Puerto Rico talking bad about him.

Met the ICP guys when they were down in TNA for that quick run. I really didn't think I would like them at all, but they were working with a friend of mine and he introduced us. They turned out to be really nice dudes. I'm not a juggalo or anything like that, but they really surprised me. And you have to give them props for how they have marketed their brand.

If you would have told me 20 years ago, I'd enjoy a Dutch Mantel podcast, I'd call you crazy since I always made those same assumptions about him that other people may have. I didn't start to like him until he started jabbing at Glenn Beck, then I started to learn more about him. The guy is kind of a treasure.

My mom was friends with a lady, that was friends with Iron Shieks' wife, here in GA in the 80s. I remember meeting his wife & 2 teen daughters then, I was a 6 yr old lil boy & oblivious ,never had thought of a woman or girl being attractive til that moment. I remember those girls were gorgeous! It was very sad to hear 1 was killed a few years later. ..it was awesome as a kid having WCW based out of Atl & living in Metro Atl, saw many wrestlers out & about. I saw Scott Steiner & a few others at an adult softball park, 5 mins from my home, that actually had a bar lmao. Wonder if that's where Sid would play his games at? I'm sure it was..anyone remember Metro Park in the 80s/90s on the Chattahoochee River on The Fulton/Douglas County line? Many times seeing wrestling at the Omni, Cobb Civic Center, Center Stage, & a few armories here & there & later The GA Dome & Phillips Arena(WWE).

I had two buddies that weighed about 400 pounds, and loved wrestling. My brother was working as a referee for a friend of ours that ran shows in Louisiana in 03 that were mostly TNA talent and a few legends. While backstage at one of those shows a wrestler was offering cigars. Most of us passed but the my buddies, the fat boys, decided to be big shots and smoke them. We were at a college bar after the show at a table when they decided to light up. Other people were complaining so they went in on them cigars hard just puffing away. Within minutes they both turned super pale and ran towards this little bathroom knocking people over and puking their brains out. They cleared the bar and the wrestlers were laughing their heads off.

I have to say I feel sorry for what happened to Lex Luger post wrestling, BUT As far as his wrestling career Dutch was being very nice. They built him up everywhere he went, right from the beginning supposedly trained by I can't remember Antonio Anoki or somebody . He got a big push everywhere you went, and he never could deliver. I wanted to hate the guy but I couldn't. I wanted to love the guy but I couldn't. All he was was boring. He couldn't give a good interview. And every time he wrestled it look like he had a 2x4 up his butt he was so stiff. Of any NAME in wrestling of any sort . I'm sorry to say he was absolutely the worst.
