Wow Matt, you've come so far since you began your channel. I found this video when searching noodle boards even though I've already purchased your noodle board plans. I almost didn't recognize it was you! Your videos are night and day different from when you and Mrs. 731 got started. God has really blessed your persistence and I'm sure the growth of your business as well. Thanks for all you do! God bless you and Amy!

I agree with the other comments about leaving your mistakes in the video, super helpful! i'm thinking of making one with a butcher block base with food safe finish so it can double as a food prep/cutting board for when we need to move it off the stove.

I love when people show their “oops” moments. It’s much easier to learn from someone else’s mistakes and very helpful when planning your own project. Also doesn’t make you feel like an idiot when you do similar mistakes. Great job! Did you put pocket hole plugs on the bottom or just leave it as is? I’m amazed at how much people charge for these things. Fairly simple project and omg this would have saved our last glass cook top from being ruined by our kids dropping stuff on it. Totally making one as soon as our countertops are done. Thanks!!

I absolutely love your noodle board! There are lots of versions out there but this one has it's own handles which saves the expense of purchasing hardware. I only bought 4' of the 1x4, but the wood leftover from my 4th piece of 1x6 was just enough for the back and it happened to be the exact length. I followed your pin from Pinterest but thank you for also making the video, it really helped a lot. With my kitchen being so tiny, this noodle board helps supplement counter space when I'm not using the oven. Thank you for making such an easy tutorial! Your noodle board ROCKS!

I've seen a "noodle board" that I thought was just a cover. It was painted with flowers. It didn't impress me. With a little modification, your design could be used as a breakfast in bed tray. Funny thing about rustic. I'm not personally a fan of it, but I'm trying to convince myself to build it. My local friend was introduced to "rustic building" when he built a table and chair out of random scraps from his trash so he could show his work at a farmer's market. He wound up taking orders for his scrap-wood table and no one ordered his fine woodworking. One lady finally said, "Your other things look too perfect." His advice to me was to use as much pallet wood, re-used wood, and other reclaimed wood as possible and let the flaws show. "It'll be faster, cost less and you'll make more money with it." I love your board. I especially like the design you added to the sides. The curves make a difference. While I don't care much for the distressed look when you finished, I did like seeing how you made it look distressed.

I find that the pocket hole method is faster (no dry time) and more accessible for a lot of people to try. I haven't had any issues with the pocket holes and have been using my noodle board for almost a year now. Besides, I never see the bottom of the noodle board, so to me it doesn't matter what the bottom looks like. That's kind of like worrying what the underside of refrigerator looks like. You never see it so it doesn't really matter. I agree that biscuits would be a "cleaner" look. But I don't mind the pocket holes at all.
