Awesome comparison! Great honing on both razors. I'll be waiting for the next one, cheers

I can't take credit for the honing (nor the stropping). That one goes to herr Aust. By far the best factory edge I've tried.

Hi. Happy Saturday. Good to hear both razors are good shavers

I started using a straight razor back in the 70s while i was in college. Back then i shaved about once a week. My very first razor was a Spanish made carbon steel "El Barrlilto." One day i put it away hastily without drying it properly. By the next time i tried to use it a week later the edge was already badly pitted and useless. I've gladly used stainless steel since.

I understand that decision fully. I think the advantages of stainless steel are significant and I'm pretty sure that the next one I buy will be stainless.

I think you must think about maintenance of carbon steel 🤔. I don't know one who strop and hone just only decently 😂. How many strokes on leather did you do?🎉

Sorry for the late reply. I didn't do any stropping on these blades before this video :) I shaved with them out of the box.

Good video. I only have one razor that I know is stainless, and it’s a filarmonica so it is naturally awesome.

I didn't know they came in stainless. Have to get my hands on a Filarmonica one day :)

And what blade do you prefer? Stainless or carbono Steel?
@WaxbellShaving3 ай бұрын
If I had to pick one I'd get a stainless blade. They are very similar when it comes to shaving performance.

I live on the coast and carbon steel is a no go for straight razors, however my kitchen knives are all carbon steel

I can imagine :) I don't live on the coast and I still have be careful keeping them dry and storing them properly.
