I can get that. Purple Odin works when he's alongside Purple Loki, but when they shifted toward Loki's other design it was nice to get an upgrade to Odin. Still, I wish they'd just bring back his Soul Hackers design, which I think blows Doi's out of the water.

About Innana... You have to remember that she is a goddess associated with FERTILITY. Plus, female-looking idols with pretty big bellies were common with many cultures in ancient civilizations. And while yes, her design may seem rather... eccentric, I have to say that: A: At least, it fits part of what she represents, And B, There have been designs who go overboard on the dohoonkabhankoloos in SMT before, and they were, to me at least, worse. Those being Artemis (in Megami Tensei 2's Super Famicom port) and Diana (The one from Soul Hackers... which also was used for Artemis in SMT Imagine with different colors. Huh). And while I certainly remember your opinion on Artemis' design in SMT 5, at least that design fits Artemis as not just a Moon goddess, but also a deity of the hunt, and youth. But she certainly would've been better as NOT a DLC demon... Take notes, Atlus.

No, a is completely wrong. Inanna is one of the only fertility goddesses who NEVER gets portrayed as pregnant or even just on the thicker side. She is depicted usually as a thin, pretty young woman. So to take the fertility goddess (who also has a ton of other things going on) who doesn't get portrayed like that, and giving her a comically enormous belly that could fit her entire upper body several times over is not a good idea in the slightest. Even if Inanna was in the category of thicc fertility goddesses, this design would still be bad because of how overboard it goes. And multiboob being more weird on Diana does not make the multiboob on Inanna any less weird. That is just not a good argument, and I'm tired of people trying to make Thing A look less bad by bringing in Completely Irrelevant Thing B.

Regarding Artemis : her new design doesn’t resemble a deity’s of the hunt, like at all. I prefer her to Kaneko’s Artemis but she is not that good either. She resembles more a superheroine than Artemis.

Isn't it pretty clear what they were thinking with Innana? Her in-game role is birthing gods as well as the new universe (iirc). Therefore she has a big tummy. All the other elements are pretty clear references to her mythology/mythological depictions.

Danu wearing a mask is shared with Innana as well. According to the commentary these are deities that were once very prominent in their culture and now somewhat forgotten, so they're wearing a mask as a symbol of that.

Yeah smt apocalypse desgin are more fitting with the game style. For me while I always prefer kaneko, however doi is a great replacement for him as does have pretty similar design kaneko. Funny thing my nickname for there artstyle is kaneko is the pointy one, while Doi is the smooth one

Personally Vishnu-Flynn would be S tier. The black and gold color scheme, and the red of the light sabers really making it to be a great design and I would have never imagined mixing Star Wars with Hinduism, that is interesting. Althought I do agree with his expression being a bit goofy.

Looking at YHVH's 2nd design, it's probably designed after the 10 plagues of Egypt. With the noticable ones being the goats representing the dead livestock, the snake representing the serpent the staff turned into, all the insects (locusts, flies and gnats) as the grasshopper, the frog representing, well, frogs, and more abstract takes such as thethe toiling human on top could be taken as the boils that covered the egyprians and the dark color palette for the main boedy being the darkness covering egypt in the ninth plague. of course this is all my interpretation and there are still 2 thatre unaccounted for (the bloody nile and hail)

I think the concept of yhvh 2nd is he's atop the things he damned or things that had been demonized by religions that follow him ex: the locust being a symbol of famine or destruction, the goat commonly associated with satanism or the snake which i don't think i have to explain

Why does nobody like the "Breasts" Demons? I remember a phrase from Game of Thrones: "Why Every god has to be a god of Anger and Destruction? Where is the god of Breats and Beer?" That sentiment really got through me since then I respect every breast goddess-like inana or artemis even if they are not really breasts goddesses I like that element in their designs.

I think Danu had more time to really sync up with Nozomi and actually... well works with her. Dagda has less of a good relationship with Nanashi compared to Danu and Nozomi's. Which validates her lacking an accent

YHWH is not an intentionally unpronounceable name, it's simply replicating a quirk of the original Hebrew texts we get the name from (namely the fact that the texts contain no transcribed vowels at all). Linguistic telephone through Latin would see YHWH become "Jehovah", but it's generally agreed nowadays that "Yahweh" is more accurate to how YHWH would have been read aloud (this being backed up by a number of old Greek transcriptions).

The thing that irks me about Cleopatra's design is that there are reconstructions of what she looked like, but she was turned into a generic anime girl with a couple nods to Egypt thrown in at the end. Also, fuck Odin's design. Odin is a trickster! He can fight, if he has to, but he is more interested in sneaking around to find out secrets than going around stabbing people.
