I just got mine yesterday. I agree with everything you said and love the neck already. I only had 1 issue and that was intonation on high E string which I will try to fix later today. I really appreciate the heads up on changing strings. Excellent review!

Absolutely! I hoped that this information could potentially save other new Boden Essential 6 owners from making the same mistakes I did when changing the strings for the first time.

Where did you buy yours from? All I see are pre-orders.
@nohbody3 ай бұрын
@@scottyburlap7879 Hi Scotty, I pre-ordered directly from strandberg back in January.

It looks like this Strandberg might let you « neglect » some of your other gear! … It will be come an « essential » one 🎸

@@patledoc Haha, yes... In all seriousness, I need to drastically thin the herd as there are 50+ guitars in the house.

@@nohbody I’m planning on getting one myself, would you say the pickups need to be swapped?
@nohbody3 ай бұрын
@@ayushj7578I wouldn’t say the pickups need to be swapped, but depending on your requirements; ie using it for studio recording, playing more more extreme genres of metal for example, you might demand additional output or clarity which these pickups might not be able to deliver. After doing some research I was able to determine these pickups are Indonesian replicas of strandberg’s higher end pickups. I hope that helps!

When you run the string through the bridge you need to kink the end so you can get it. That is a fairly common need if you have a string retainer. That kink will also help with the nut. It also helps to work with the guitar flat on the table. That metal disk keeps the string from getting cut by the grub screw. It is not supposed to be glued down, and does need repleced eventually. On the hioshot equivalent nut it is very easy to cut your strings in the nut. Those disks are Teflon coated delryn. You want to loosen the strings then, unlock the nut. You want to put the string in without 1.5 turns on the tuner before it comes off. That will keep the ball end from sticking out. Everyone has the same issues you had with the 1st string change.

If you want to hang it on the wall or a headstock stand the string swing banjo/mandolin holder fits perfectly.

TY as mentioned by others YOUR review was the only useful discussion about the new Essential = affordable Stranberg. Would like to see an update in time re' sonic palette of the 5 way switch combinations and whether you were able to solve the volume (? any height adjustment of the bridge pickup possible?) and your demo of different playing styles after you've had a chance to discover them. I do finger-style acoustic mostly but am using a tele c SD humbuckers low action due to a hand injury. (Also a huge fan of Elixers...) so if you could mention action it would be great to learn. TYKenn Harris Desert Stories and other albums on YT 🍎 Spotify etc in case interested. Be Well Kenn🎸😎🎼
