You are doing so well, down days are just day's our mind and body have been pushed emotionally and it's time to rest.❤❤❤ You have this and before you know it you will be recharged again, and feeling better. Home sickness is horrible. Ask mum to send a care package of random home stuff, soaps from home shampoo and conditioner, pictures songs, a book everyone you know can write in and start doing handwritten letters anything that wakes up your senses. Things you are pull out but aren't taking up room or that aren't heavy. The book of letters while travelling alone is really helpful for homesickness. I want to give you a big mum hug right now

Ryan, have been following you since the beginning. Your pure joy and laughter has captivated me. Keep smiling and laughing f the naysayers. The relationship you have with Patti is wonderful. My one motherly word of advice is to not be so hard on yourself when things go sideways. That is life. Be kind to yourself. Thank you for showing your real life warts and all. Your smashing it brother. When on the road for so long solo.. you’ll get days like that. feelings are okay, the good and the bad. It’s all natural. You and Patti have got this, once you get that cash back in the pocket and get cruising that road south again you will be back in your happy place again.

That’s a gorgeous landscape your finding yourself in, a couple of days wild camping, waiting for the bank to open again is not to bad, it will surely be interesting to see what you choose as you first “luxury” after getting some money in your pocket in you next update. Thanks for sharing both the good and the bad times of (solo) traveling. "It can't always be a walk on roses", as we say in Denmark. However, as you say, if worst case scenario is a wild camp with that view, and with your best friend, it isn't all that bad 😊

Really enjoyed the vid and the pov from the back right corner of the tuktuk in the turns with the music was great! You’ve come very far already don’t worry about these small problems too much it adds to the adventure! And it’s normal for the family and friends from back home but it is part of traveling the world make sure to keep in touch with them. big love Ryan I’m here with ya!

I think you’re going to grow, in so many ways. Try to plan ahead for yourself. Always have emergency money for those occasions when you arrive late or things aren’t going smooth. Nice video.

Hey Ryan, im a Chilean thats been living abroad for so long i stopped counting. The life away from home is challenging in many ways but such is the way of the adventurers and seekers, the trip is not just on the road but within. Its great to own the ups and downs and easier when you remind yourself the nature of your spirit is so safe and loving and eager for life that there you are far from home having fun opening roads 😊.... And for a helpful note, be aware that anywhere you go, especially in latinamerica, if you are ever in need of anything, dont hesitate to ask for help, the best thing of that land aint the geography is the friendliness , especially in places away from the big cities...(as I write, im thinking maybe thats a planetary characteristic really hah)... Also as a foreigner one of the biggest leasons i learned, being in China, not speaking much Chinese then, was to not be resistant to ask for help, it is alright to ask 😉🤙✊ ... You let people approach you, consider you reaching out when you need humans, for either warmth, advice, food, shelter, conversation, etc

Dude. I know you feel you were doin it tough. We all have those times. What I can’t figure out is how you’re so upbeat and positive, smiley and friendly through it all. Keep that chin up brother. I don't remember when you left Argentina for Chile, but in the last few months prices here rose approximately 50%, but the dollar remained the same in its relationship with the peso, which made us now an expensive country in dollars.

What an absolutely amazing intro. Stunning views. Some advice for you Ryan. Ice baths/cold baths are super healthy for you, they can help you build tolerance towards cold when you get to Alaska + cold baths release dopamine that can last for hours.

Might be worth taking a few photos of your underneath and any belts for torii, that way if something breaks or comes loose you have a reference to put it back. Also might be worth finding a dark green cover to put over Torii when stealth camping close to a busy area.

Hi! I'm loving your Patagonian trip so far, I'm from Capital Federal, Buenos Aires. I been in the patagonia like a dozen times. There are so many places I could recommend, but I understand you're on a tight schedule, especially since you're heading south in April. From Bariloche to Ushuaia, it's 2400 km, and you have to be aware that winter there is no joke. With places like Calafate in between that are a must-visit, I believe you'll reach Ushuaia by the end of May, so you'll be fine. Ice on the road is dangerous. FYI, I believe the exchange problem you were facing last year shouldn't be a big issue now because the official exchange rate and the "blue" rate are very close to each other, with 1 USD being around $885 (official) and $975 (blue), so in my opinion, this shouldn't be a hassle.
