@arnox45543 жыл бұрын
The Gamecube wasn't a bad system at all. But it did also have some REALLY fucking stiff competition. First, you had the PS2 with its LOOONNG list of games, cheaper price, full PS1 backward compat., and free DVD player. PS2 had a lot of great first-party titles and it got most of the RPG market too. And then right after that, you had a major newcomer in the form of the original Xbox. Built by some of the best Microsoft talent and the OG Dreamcast devs, the Xbox natively supported 4 players (over PS2's piddly native 2 player support), had a built-in HDD (so no fiddling around with memory cards), full internet support, could render games graphically at a better fidelity and framerate, and had a DVD player as well. And then... And THEN... Bungie shows up out of nowhere with Halo and starts Bungie's absolutely unstoppable revolutionary rampage for three straight games in a row all while fucking curbstomping the PS2's pathetic excuse for online multiplayer. So, when you consider all that, it's no surprise the Gamecube took the dump that it did.

Given they finally brought the double item mechanic back in MK8 Deluxe there's certainly a foundation already laid. The big question is if we'll see a new Mario Kart this gen or if Nintendo's just gonna wait until the Switch's successor to make a Mario Kart 9. On one hand MK8 Deluxe is such a top seller on its own it's possible some people in Nintendo might be going "that game's already doing so well I don't think we really need a new one just yet" (add to this the fact Nintendo has only made a single Mario Kart game per system, and with how poorly the Wii U sold I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo just pretends the Wii U original release of MK8 never happened), BUT on the other hand I thought Nintendo wouldn't make a new Splatoon for the Switch since Splatoon 2 is still a high seller, but Splatoon 3's confirmed for 2022 so that opens up the possibility maybe Mario Kart 9 could come out this gen.
@bobafett42653 жыл бұрын
@@BloodRedFox2008 that's very much possible, hope they make the inevitable MK9 more bearable than the recent titles, I just find there's a little too much rubber banding in MK7/8, like after you get hit your character has this freakout that takes up way too much time that by the time you recover there's two or more people that pass you, it's annoying to say the least, at least in CTR Nitro Fueled when you get hit that's it, you just tumble, get back up and be on you're way...

17:01 Truly a rare gem I enjoyed playing for over a year. And it felt like it took forever to unlock the two titans that combined into a bigger titan when on a two player team.

What happened to ScrewAttack?
@KTEFilmsInc3 жыл бұрын
@@kittykittybangbang9367 it was bought by RoosterTeeth and did nothing but Death Battle stuff for so long that they just uped and changed the the whole brand to Death Battle. Stuttering Craig started GameAttack focusing on live streaming let's plays, but he's since left that to start his own independent channel focused more on podcasts with the occasional game stream.

Why did you make me remember Mario Kart Underground? Also imagine if they got Sonic and Crash Bandicoot in Double Dash Also Pan I would love to see you cover the Kirby lore. Also Sakurai should not puss out and start giving love to modern Kirby I would be down for a Go Go Hypergrind remake to have Persona characters!

I never expected him to talk about Dark Summit. I had it during my childhood lost it at some point, and only just re-found it a year ago. God it was a blast to play then and coming back loved it again, the art-style was rad at the time and now i enjoy the ambiance it gives off. When the prompt sent out bout games was released i commented about Dark Summit only to remove it later, due to the fact it was ported to other consoles. Now i got my wish i can sleep easy.

I remember the amazing part where you shoot an obvious weak point on every single enemy. And who can forget using a special attack to defeat the gimmick enemies? And then there's that rebellious bit where the guy says "You're fucked!" Not to mention the sheer edge of that cult leader guy with the afro who jacks off in cut-scenes. Truly legendary game design.
