Please look up a video titled “Lasagna Cat: Garfield’s Dark Side” by “Inside a Mind”. The TL/DR is that there was a series called “Lasagna cat” which was a surreal parody of Garfield, and the main reason for it’s existence is because every bit of official media about Garfield portrays the comics as some world changing thing despite being pretty mediocre all around, to the point where they’ve described the comics as “some of the most innovative design looks in the licensing industry”. This restaurant is in my school’s neighbourhood you don’t go there for the food, you go there for the e x p e r i e n c e , and out of shock and awe in the fact that it exists at all. I ordered from there last summer. The pizza was many hours late. And gross. And yes, their “Friends chat” or whatever is ignored. I wrote a bad review on their FB page. Then the manager called me up seemingly genuinely apologetic. He told me they were working with a chef from India to improve on their paneer pizza. He reminded me of how successful it is in Dubai. He also offered me a Garfield “pizza party” for me and my friends (including free merchandise.) I was told to just email him when ready. I decided to test it. So I emailed him a week ahead of time to no response. And followed up to no response.

Garfield's Christmas and Halloween episodes are legit 2 of my most beloved and fondly remembered holiday traditions. I still watch them annually with my daughter. They're up there with Disney's Halloween treat, Hocus Pocus and The Grinch, Rudolph/Frosty T.V. specials. If you've never seen them do yourself a nostalgic favor and watch them. They're awesome.

The Garfield and Friends show holds up really well, especially for an 80s saturday morning kids cartoon. The humor was great, with Garfield often breaking the fourth wall to like pull out the script and go complain to the writers, and it parodied a lot of things in funny ways, often other contemporary shows. There's a resturant in my town called Dasey Maiseys, and the owner absolutely loves garfeild. so all the coloring sheets for kids are garfeild, and her room/office is filled to the brim with garfeild merch
