Favourite character is easily Hopper. Ever since season 1. Love his motives, he wants to care for 11 like a daughter, due to how he lost his original one. Love his courage, just everything.

I disagree, I feel there was a lot of untapped depth to Billy. He's abused by his father, and he displaces that onto Max. He can't retaliate against his father or step-mother, so he interprets the "reason" for his suffering as being Max. It may be wrong, but you can understand it. Billy's depth was much more subtle, but it is there.

Also, I feel the Lost Sister episode is meant to set up for Season 3. Eight's illusionary powers have a lot of potential for horror.

I thought the typical gang was an illusion the whole time. Like 008 just wanted a feeling of family and thus created one through her memory of perhaps typical tv shows that projects themselves everywhere. Then again that means she hould constantly have nose bleeds and who be driving the van.

There is a small detail everyone seems to actually forget. On Season 1, maybe even first or second episode (don't remember perfectly), Dustin has a crush on Nancy, Nancy shuts the door on his face. The ending of Season 2 is a happy one because Dustin gets to dance with Nancy. So he also finally gets his crush. :)

My biggest disappointment was how they handled the "Upside Down". Season 2 was all about the tunnels and the Mind Flayer acting like a virus that's infecting Will. But I much preferred the idea of Season 1, where the Upside Down seemed much more interesting. Like when Will was trapped in the Upside Down, he was in the same house as the mom, they couldn't see each other but they could communicate. And then you had demogorgons passing through portals in the walls / trees. That was cool.

From how I interpreted it, episode 7 was trying to show what would've happened if Eleven went more darkside, basically showing her what not to do. Yeah at first she was enjoying being around them, but she realized how good she had it with her friends in Hawkins and how her life could've turned out if she wasn't as good natured.

Episode 7 was the "Yoda" episode. She helped Eleven figure out how to strengthen her powers and let us know some of the other kids lived. Just cuz some of the others escaped doesn't mean they would just be all hiding in other peoples basements in Hawkins. And I'm sorry but if we got to season 4 and all the sudden number 5, 8, 3 and 9 show up in the last ten minutes to help stop it once and for all people would be fuckin pissed. You have to start introducing them slowly at some point.

It had its moments. Wasn't as good as season 1, though. (SPOILERS) The best character has to be Hopper and Steve. Steve definitely got redemption again, but he didn't deserve what Nancy did to him. He changed, but Nancy still slept with Jonathan because its the rule of "loser gets the girl". That's pretty much the only role he plays. To be a punching bag to feel remorse (even though we only see him get bullied for ACTUALLY [but accidentally] spying on people at the wrong time] for, and later miraculously shows up last second to save someone. Nancy just has so much pity for him, that Jon manages to finally seal the deal when she's thinking over things and is going through more character development. Steven genuinely loved Nancy, and despite his faults, struggled between keeping some independence and not hurting Nancy. He doesn't want to go to the girl's (forgot her name, the redhead with glasses who no one really cared about) because he known whats going to happen deep down, and that it would hurt Nancy. Yeah, he originally pressured her into sex, but that doesn't negate his sacrifices in order to protect people. Steve seems to have matured so much since then, and yet the world still sees him as the same bully. He deserves at least one win somewhere, right? Nope. He gets the shit kicked out of him, and Nancy fucks Jonathan cause there was 'magic in the air'. Jonathan always managed to be in the right places at the right time to take her off her feet, and bring her home to safety, with sure well that Nancy sees this. Meanwhile Steve was the one fighting giant-fuck-off dog monsters, daemon-things and tentacles. But still, Jonathan always brings her home when it's some sort of high-school teenager drama. Jonathan is just not a very fleshed out character, whose only role is to relate to the more anti-social or awkward teenagers. I seriously don't remember any significant dialogue with him besides the ones with Will. I chose Hopper as well, cause he's a bad ass (like always) and you get to see him try to father a telekinetic, emotionally unstable, little girl. Sure, we don't learn more about his wife and daughter, but it's just nice to see him in general. And Eleven? Her scenes were "reeeee" until something breaks. Even though nothing really happened in episode 7, and it was the least-liked episode, it really showed that Eleven FINALLY matured even just a LITTLE. That had to be the considerably good part in the episode. Even then, I've lost all empathy with her. She's killed dozens of people. Yes, she was a lab rat for experimentation to fight the under-world, but that only makes it understandable and not justifiable or nonpunishable. I loved it when Hopper said "You need to learn that your decisions have consequences." and locked her in her room. Eleven's PTSD triggered again and "reeee'd" untill everything in their house broke, but Hopper didin't give a fuck cause he's an emotional stable (albeit feisty and hardheaded) person. She needs some sort of redemption like Steve. Even then, it's gotta be a big fuckin' comeback, cause she easily could've just broken the guns, disarmed, or pushed back any human that made her feel threatened. She snapped a guys neck and squished another in a concrete wall for fucks sake! She is not a little girl! She needs to be treated like a young girl who has powers that can kill people. (which, why the fuck does 'Father' lock them up in a shitty prison-like institute? why would an emotionally unstable, telekinetic, young girl behave in this environment? What would've been better is if they tried their best to give her as close to a normal life as they could give her in there, and the events in the under-world or with her powers lead her to go crazy.) Mike had barely any dialogue. I don't recall him saying anything important besides a few "wait a minute I've solved it" moments. And in the end, why does everything go back to normal? Why don't they have PTSD after that shit? How does it all magically all go dandy, like it never happened? Why aren't they questioned by the government even a little? Why did Bob (who was a good and new character) die in a cliche "oh now it looks like I'm safe" moment? Why are people okay with the Nancy and Jonathan fucking for the sake of "hue hue the conspiracy guy makes a pullout joke and the deserve to be together" (He was a good new character too). Plot armor? Cliche media influence? For the sake of an ending? I still like it, don't get me wrong. It just had too many plot holes, strange character development, and arc choices to make me really thing it was better than season 1. Love the video, a lot of good points. The intro was awesome. : )

Totally agree, Dustin and Steve are the best characters. I was thinking that exact same thing while watching. I can totally see them being great comedic actors in the future. Steve in particular has fantastically subtle reactions. I will say, however, that the two new (brother and sister) characters lacked a lot of depth. Might be because I'm a 90's guy but I needed a little more out of them. I was expecting more and it totally let me down there.

Not really Goth, it was punk, something huge in the 80's. Having a series and not having punk is just a big insult to the 80's. This series is obviously a tribute to the 80's. Everything about it screams 80's, ignoring it, like I said, would of been an insult.

Episode 7 works on Eleven as a character. Eleven tries to desperately try to find a place where she wouldn't be imprisoned or betrayed. She felt imprisoned by Hopper, and is betrayed by Becky, while she was at Mama's. During episodes seven and six, Becky and Kali even say, "This is your home now". But Eleven doesn't want that, she wants to be in a safe home where she doesn't feel safe. This is why those "dream sequences" that Eleven was having is so important. She realizes from those dreams that there is only one place she will feel safe and loved, Hawkins. Just my take on the "pointless" episode that the fan base seems to hate.

Episode 7 didn't work because there was no variety in the scenes; what makes the show so exciting is that the show constantly switches between different characters and showing interactions between familiar characters. Ele's trip to Illinois was likely an introduction to characters that will play a larger part in season 3. But, more importantly, that whole episode (and the previous episode) were meant to develop Ele's sense of what 'home' is. I didn't feel the Illinois episode was pointless. It's an integral part of Ele's character. Bob Newby will live forever as the hero we didn't deserve, but so desperately needed.

I feel like I'm the only one who thinks Season 2 is better than Season 1. I really liked Season 1, but didn't think it was amazing or anything, a solid 8/10. Season 2, however, was phenomenal. I felt the acting was even better, especially with Will playing a major role, and the editing, directing, and writing were top notch, big improvements from last season. I felt much more emotionally invested and all the characters felt important. The only things I didn't like were the randomness of episode 7 and how everything went back to normal at the end, the exact same way the first season ended.

Preston Garvey think in the mind of the character! His first love sacrifices herself to save him and his friends from a monster from another dimension! (Kinda tough) and his best friend was taken by that same monster to another dimension and nobody knew if he was alive or dead for a week! And then after El’s disappearance, Mike doesn’t even know if she is alive or not for nearly a year, while dealing with a friend who’s slowly becoming possessed and parents that clearly don’t give a crap about him and are so unsupportive. Seems like some good reasons to be a little emo and short tempered! Heck many teenagers are similar to him with absolutely NO reason behind it. So think in the mind of the character before addressing this stuff.

Two sittings, but like two hours apart. I watched the entire series - season one and season two - from start to finish over an entire night and I didn't even go to bed until around 7 in the morning. I agree with everyone that episode 7 of ST2 was kind of unnecessary - important as it was in terms of development for the character - but overall S2 was just as good as S1 with extremely higher stakes.

The only thing I disagree with is that the Mind flayer will possess someone again and the reason why is they know how to get it out of ppl, which was burning it out. I think what’s gonna happen is they’re gonna bring back 8 without her crew and she and 11 are gonna possibly deal with the father character. Mike, will, and the others will be in high school and probably deal with their own problems. Meanwhile the Mind flayer is in the background building an army that will at some point reveal itself at the end of season 3. Season 4 should be about everyone coming together and fighting the Mind flayer and killing it. This is just my opinion though. Also if there’s another snow ball dance you better not leave my boi Dustin alone, YOU BETTER GET HIM A GIRL.

I just watched both seasons for the first time this weekend, and I absolutely love this show. I think one of my biggest problems with season 2, besides Hopper forgetting about Eleven when the creatures were loose, was when Eleven Reunited with Mike. He tried contacting her for 353 days, constantly dealt with the reality that she might have been dead or lost in the Upside Down, carried so much grief, and when he found out that Hopper was hiding her from him- he wasn't as furious as I'd expected. He obviously cares for her and holds her dearly, and that scene wasn't as emotional as I expected. A normal person would be overwhelmed with the joy and relief of finding out someone you cared so much for was okay, and would be so angry in the moment with Hopper- he'd probably lose teeth! Try imagining losing a kid, lover, or relative- and the person you trusted the most hid them from you. Hopper pretty much knowingly let Mike suffer with an unbearable pain for almost a year. Hopper could have just said "you can't see her, but she's safe and well," but he didn't even do that. I was thinking Mike would absolutely lose his mind, and never forgive Hopper. I expected him to be more emotional meeting Eleven. The person you so dearly cared about, who was missing for a year- was okay! I really expected a more emotional response from him. I would imagine Mike being so scared and petrified by the thought of Eleven being trapped or dead! And to find out that Hopper showed no empathy or care for Mike's suffering was surprising! I really was expecting a more emotional reunion and a more furious Mike. It really made me like Hopper a lot less, seeing him not care for those who trusted him and loved him. What do you guys think?

The Eleven/Jane solo episode was supposed to show her learning who her family really is. She got out there, found her mom, and her sister by association, and learned they are not her family as she believed. She learned her family is Hopper, and Mike. I also suspect that 8 and potentially other sisters will play a bigger part in season 3. Perhaps returning to Hawkins and stirring up trouble.

AlejoConejo2209 not just the ones you buy, all crates can't give you epic cards, and you need to reach certain levels to upgrade the cards, wich means anyone have to play to use the upgraded cards... we just have to see how much

but crates give you the currency to craft the epics faster... its still p2w with dumb objectively better upgrades which make the new player experience even worse

Just gonna say my main issue about this new season is They didnt go full on if billy was a racist or was telling max to stay away from boys period and if your gonna allude to someone being racist go full on with it don't fucking tease it then stop because someone might get their feelings hurt when they are watching a tv show with one black character set in the 80s

Loxias Mystic Well a lot of people think he was and that the show was alluding to some racial tension he had with her talking to Lucas because he was black but like I said they left it to open to interpretation he never outright said don't talk to black people or just don't talk to boys and if they were trying to say tell us he was racist then they shouldn't have beat around the bush with it and if they were trying to say she shouldn't talk to boys then make it very clear that's what he meant and not leave it so open because the new it remake did the exact same thing and if your gonna do something racial might as well go full force with it don't fucking tease it then act like it didn't happen and we all just move on because the SJWs who will rip anything in front of them apart won't

Big Daddy Creme Cheese The character happens to be black. He was the character who was mostly involved with max. If the character was white. I'm pretty sure billy would react the same way. It all goes back to him being abused so no he's not racist

Loxias Mystic Like I said you can't leave it open to interpretation a lot of people that reviewed the show thought he was a racist and that he was specifically talking about Lucas because he was black and if was then make it clear he was because if he wasn't then why even have it alluded to he wasn't it's pointless and makes you look like you wanted to have a racist character but were scared of some special snowflake being offended

The problem with Barb that make people ask for justice, was that when Will disapeared, the whole city stoped, but when Barb disapeared, nobody cared.

Season 1 was definatly better, but a lot of people hate on episode 7 of season 2... I get why, but the contents of that episode and the growth of Eleven's character is rlly good! :p Does anyone else think Micheal was a bit annoying this season?

I watched all season 2 b2b and I just thought that Mike was less present and when he was present, he always seemed to try and push away Max. Now, I get why he would do that in the beginning, but when you here it the 3rd 4th time during the 2nd half of the season, it becomes annoying...

I thought Dustin was amazing this season, I found his character a bit forced in the first season, but here he really comes together. but, i guess he is the one in the group who has the "idiot" character trait, there always has to be one...

Dexilan Plus, you know, he didn't know if the person he loved was dead or alive, and was worried that Max was gonna replace El in the Party, so him acting moody made sense.

the standout actor here is the kid who played Will. His performance was so unbelievably believable, like in his scene where they are trying to get the shadow monster out of him with heat, I was terrified, I mean that was some Linda Blair Exorcist shit! And this kid is what, like 13? He's definitely going places.

Long overdue question, but how's your eye(s) doing nowadays man? I remember an old video of you mentioning you needed surgery, I don't know if you updated about your condition or not, I was going through videos looking for that and I either kept passing it or its not there. So super curious Joe, all things good for you health wise?

Eleven's "Sister" episode SUCKED. It was completely unnecessary and it derailed the show for me. Those punk characters were annoying AS FUCK. No more from those characters please. The rest of the series was awesome.

I'm a little on the fence about Will on this list. One side of me thinks he doesn't do anything to make you really like him, he's just the kid who's in danger again, but then another part of me thinks that Noah portrayed Will so brilliantly that I just want to rank him higher.
