Jaimie was so great as henry/vecna he did a wonderful job of portraying the creepiness of the character. The way he uses his voice the slow deep way he speaks and the way he looks at his victims definitely gave me chills. Stranger Things always does a great job with casting.

The cool thing about Vecna is that until now, the characters have mainly been facing detached, larger-than-life threats -- surreal entities that only appear in visions, and mindless monsters that only attack indiscriminately. But Vecna is a threat that feels so much more personal, as not only does he directly contact his victims almost to the point of real-world physical encounters, he gets in their head by forcing them to relive their worst moments rather than trying to create new ones. That sense of familiarity is what separates him from the other antagonists of the series, as fighting some*one* that possesses their own memories and motivations makes him all the more human; and going against one of your own is a different level of disturbing, especially when you consider that he actually is human.

The fascinating thing about Vecna is that for all we know, all the monsters in the upside down could actually be rather innocent. It could’ve just been Vecna controlling them and making them do these terrible things this whole time. It’s already been confirmed that he was the one controlling the Mind Flayer, so for all we know, he could be the one controlling the entire Upside Down as a whole. It also explains why the Upside Down now looks like a parallel version of Hawkins, when that wasn’t the case before.

This is the perfect proof in the pudding that it's important to mix both practical effects with vfx in a beautiful balance. It keeps the viewer invested, and there isn't a moment where we are saying to ourselves. "Oh, that isn't real at all." Such a beautiful collaboration of professionals. Bower's acting was enhanced with the work done by the practical and digital effects team. Together, they made Vecna come to life. It is interesting to see how Bower gave Vecna's spirit, the practical effects team gave him a body, and the digital effects team gave him the environment and complete aura. Again, amazing work that I hope will be awarded but it will be used as inspiration for future cinematic work. Thank you Netflix for giving audiences a chance to hear from the professionals behind the camera.

This guy is brilliant. I must say he was even scarier in his own body than in Vecnas. How he acted being 001. (I think everybody knew from the beginning that he was 001) and how he literally became a villain from kind big brother. This is the whole another level. Absolutely loved it.

I love Jamie for the actor he is. Through Vecna we could see HOW MUCH he was dedicated to the character. Heads off to the Duffer brothers. The level of creation and imagination for this show is out of this world. Again Jamie - where do I even start from. If a character can get inside our heads at such an intimidating level then you know it is second to none. Everything about this show is just OUTSTANDING Also - THE VOICE🥶

people said that 3 years was a lot of time and that they should've done it quicker but i think that 3 years isn't much. i'm sure this season would've been impossible to film without that amazing team. i'm re-rewatching it again because i don't remember lots of things and i'm getting even more fsacinated now that i know even more about cinematography.

Love how at 2:03 theres instructions on how Vecna is being made, then you see at the very bottom "Sent from my iPad" Overall it was cool to hear Joe Keery explain how grateful he was of Jamie putting in his efforts to make it look real, Its remarkable how they can see good in each other . Also awesome play how the duffer brothers give the element of surprise, not showing the actors vecna until on set. They really want that raw emotion, incredible!

0:08 Logan Riley Bruner said it, that *is* horrifying. I mean, Jamie Campbell Bower is such a great actor for the role, he really embodies Vecna in costume and without, almost makes you forget he used to be in a band and was in a lot of other good movies like the Twilight series, the prosthetics and makeup alone are nightmarish enough to spook the living daylights out of anyone.

You can tell Jamie is such a rare joy to work with because most actors who have to wear heavy prosthetics on a daily basis usually end up complaining A LOT but he seemed so chill and excited even about the whole process.
