the writers recently said that Caleb screaming "Erica help!" was an ad-lib that he did while taping and the Duffers decided to keep it in. Also Eddie telling Dustin that he loved them just before he died was I ad-lid too. This show has amazing actors all free the cast.

This finale had my emotions all over the place. Max, Eddie, the pain. The hype. The dread. Unmatched. The show started off with Will. I'd appreciate him being the main focus of season 5. A confession to Mike, being able to spy on Vecna, some happiness, and a final showdown with him would be amazing. He gave Mike a heartfelt confession and lied by saying it was how El felt. He made a painting just for Mike but pretended El commissioned it. That huge speech spurred on by Will wasn't really about El. When Mike was giving that speech, he was talking about his love for an image Will gave him that he claimed was El, but was secretly about himself. Let Will be happy. He's suffered enough.

I think El going into Max’s mind and not finding her was because Max is brain dead and if they kill vecna they could possibly kill Max since she’s been absorbed by him and they could kill or harm Will bc he’s connected to the mind flayer/001. So they’re going to have to figure out how to separate them from vecna to save them.

Here is my theory! Will has latent abilities that only appear when it intermingles with someone like El or Vecna or being in the upside down. The day he was abducted, his ability activate. When the demogorgans in Season 1 took people, they were attracted to blood. BUT will was the only victim that wasn't taken because he was bleeding. That means, Vecna sent the demogorgan for will for a purpose. The show has shown parallels between Henry and Will. They drew the mind flayer similarly and both have been described as "Sensitive" by their parents. in Season 5 Will will be a parallel to Vecna, more than El is. I suspect that Will was tangible abilities that only show up when intermingled with Vecna. When Will was taken, his fright activated it, and created a replica of Hawkings on that day he was taken. so the upside down is not an echo, but rather Will made the echo. That would explain why Will wasn't killed like Barb etc. he seemed to be placed in a kind of storage. Vecna also didn't consume him like the others perhaps and I honestly don't know why. This also explains why you didn't really need a gate to travel to the upside-down in season 1. Will presence was enough to make the veil between them be very narrow and as such, we see odd things like gates opening up under trees, behind will in the storage cabin and in the wall so he can speak to Joyce. I suspect that Vecna would eventually absorb Will's abilities and find a way to terrofrom the right side up into something he wants. This ability is alluded to as will being a dungeon master in DnD. he created the campaign/world they play in.

When El was smaller, 1979, is when she first opened the gate to send Vecna in. It was shown in episode 1 or 2 when the killings of the other children happened. 1983 is when she finally escaped from the facility and the Will stuff happened.

They have to bring back 008 (Callie). People make fun of that side episode in season 2, but it would be a huge waste for the Duffer brothers to not bring back 008, who can mess with people's mind and reality. She would be perfect to mess with Henry/001. Also, 001 said the people he kills aren't gone. They're in his head. I think that's how Max will return. El will have to do something similar to "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" when Willow brought Tara's consciousness back from Glory in season 5. El sent 001 to the upside down in 1979. Will wasn't taken until 1983. They haven't fully explained when El escaped from the lab and how long after she opened the second gate. Right around that point is when Will was taken and El escaped Hawkins lab. Hopefully the show a flashback of that night Eleven left and the boys finding her.

Glad to catch y’all reaction! I’ve watched so many reactions. I didn’t notice till watching yours that when Vecna was showing Eleven how her friends were losing, he showed her Eddie. And she wouldn’t have even known who Eddie was. I think he even showed Eleven and Max, hopper fighting the demodogs. We didn’t get as much of reactions as I hoped to the news that hopper was alive. I wonder if Eleven noticed it when Vecna was showing her. Honestly I have so many questions as I keep noticing different things. Lol.

I think El sent 001 away but papa making her look in the dark When she saw the demigorgon and touched it (a powerful psychic connection) that’s when a gate / door opened and I think like the upsidedown mirrored their world. Papa did say that Henry/001/vecna takes peoples abilities, and everything from them. I don’t think that el can go into vecna mind to get max. I think if el just 100% kills vecna then max’s mind/conscious would originally go back into her body.

With max, Lucas says "her heart stopped for over a minute" So in reality she should be brain dead and blind. Max IS top 3 if not THE best actor on the show, so I'm sure they won't just leave her laid in the hospital all season 5, probably have her lost or a lot of flashbacks until she's set free.

I think 001 is 011s biological father. With Henry always hinting and memories that bring sadness, anger and happiness. It’s almost like Empire strikes back. We just did t get the reveal yet. Brenner was trying to replicate 001, how do you do that? Have him forcefully reproduce with women that where kidnapped for mk ultra experiments. I’m pretty convinced with the evidence we have this will be revealed in the final season.

The Mind Flayer is Vecna's backup plan. Y'all hit it right on the head. He basically IS the Mind Flayer. When he found that cloud of particles he said, "I found a way to transcend my human form." That's when he put his consciousness inside the Mind Flayer after forming it into a spider. He basically created the Hive Mind. Everything is attached to each other. Like a spider's web. When a bug is trapped in a web, the spider can feel the slightest vibration. Like Steve and Nancy told Eddie: "You step on a vine, you're stepping on a bat, you're stepping on... VECNA." Remember in the monologue with El in the lab (ep. 7) he told her that he looked at spiders like gods to this world. He wanted to become more than just a human. He wanted to become his fascination...spiders (sick bastard). And he really didn't steal the kids powers. He got his powers back that Papa took from him. All of those kids had pieces of HIS powers. Brenner took Henry's blood and made gave those kids powers sense birth. I think that's why 11 is so strong. They experimented with her mom through MKULTRA. So her mom, plus his blood or whatever Papa took from him. Papa put that chip put in him to weaken him. Once El took it out, it was game on. I think it's safe to say that Henry was born with his powers. So he's 001 for a reason. Everything those kids could do, he could already do. He's just at full power now. To answer your question it took Vecna 7 years to power up to his season 4 status. -1959: He killed his family and went into a coma and the to Hawkins Lab. -1979: 20 years later the massacre at Hawkins Lab happened. Eleven banished 001 into the upside down. -1983: Papa had El "spying on the Russians" (in reality, he was looking for Henry... through her). She opened the gate by mistake when she touched the Demogorgon. Time stopped for some reason in the upside down. Will went missing (Season 1). -1984 Will is possessed by the Mind Flayer aka Vecna. El closes the gate at Hawkins Lab. -1985: Billy gets possessed. The Russians come to town. The Battle at Starcourt Mall happens. 1986: The events of season 4. Vecna couldn't open the gates on his own at first. He was trapped in the upside down until El tore a hole between worlds in '83. It took him 7 years to figure that out without her being the only one to do it. At least that's what I got from all this.🤷🏾‍♂️

well for the gate thing, that was the point of the fleshy mind flayer, he said he needed her power, and remember after she was grabbed by it, and after she took that little uh, worm flesh thing out of her, her powers konked out, and then he was able to finally open gates, also showing the billy scene "we built it for you". so he didn't learn it so much as absorbed the skill from her (blood??)

Eleven sent 001 to the upside down (or whatever it was before Will went missing) in 1979. That gate closed which you can see in the first shot of S4 episode 9. Then in 1983, the day Will went missing, she re-opened the gate and then the demogorgon took Will and that's when the upside down was transformed into a copy of Hawkins stuck in time. But they haven't explained yet how that happened exactly. Maybe Will did it somehow?

Yeah I was really wanting some Upside Down info, also besides it taking on Hawkins appearance (when,I hope they tell us) prior everything was actually pretty clean, air wise and everything was arid and bright, but after 01 started to push his plans, besides the scenery changing, the air quality has now too (s1 they had hopper and joyce wear suits since the air quality was bad for people in there, not sure if its still like that, but I'd think it would be?) its also perpetually night now, plus the dusty floaters and those living vines that are now everywhere, also everything is now m o i s t and humid looking. I hope we do get an explanation more of what is the upside down, and when/why/how did it change. When Will went in it was already 'like Hawkins, but not" as he explained it, but was it instantaneous, gradual, or what. waiting for s5 is going to be killer

I think the break this season was bc of Covid messing up film schedules. They had to finish up these last 2 episodes but also didn't want us to wait for all of it. They gave us Vol 1 to watch while they finished Vol. 2. I'm hoping Eddies name gets cleared next season, I really liked him and the town needs to know he's a hero dang it. Next season I read that they'll focus on Will more and the group will all be in Hawkins. I think there's a time jump too. ✌🏼

Be on the lookout for beefed up Vecna- He'll use the shadow to heal and get even stronger like he initially did to transcend his human form. He might even end up being the creature with the huge gaping maw that Nancy saw in the vision. 2. Vecna can probably see into the future to some extent, he's sharing visions of things that haven't happened yet, and some of them are coming to fruition. 3. Max's mind is likely with Vecna- So that's going to be a story thread, getting Max's mind back into her body 4. Brenner told 11 she'll need to be able to fly to win. I doubt he meant she needs a stronger force push (which is all she's used against Vecna). I think starting a dead person's heart back up and opening gates is just a tip of the iceberg.

david talked about having to lose 80 pounds for season 4 hopper and said that he wasn’t doing it again. can’t blame him that sounds so exhausting. also, caleb and joseph improved their “erica help and “i love you man” lines along with that second hopper/joyce kiss - they improvised that. the duffers said that they’re definitely going back to it being in hawkins in the last season which i’m happy about because it was so painful not seeing them together 😭 also the duffers said that eddie basically died because he was important to the story and that they only kill important characters

The Duffer Brothers confirmed Max is brain dead. She said she couldn’t feel or see so possibly paralyzed and blind as well. I’m so sad. I didn’t want Eddie to die but I didn’t want him in jail either but they could have hid him with 11. This was a great great season. Thanks for letting us watch with y’all. 💜⚜️

What's so special about this show I think is because we got to see these characters grow through the years. I was really pissed tht they killed eddie, but this season for me is the best, the vecna/01 reveal twist is brilliant I did not see it coming, and the impact of eddie dying as hurtful as it is, shows just how good a show this is, I've never been so invested in a tv show before.

What a finale! My emotions were all over the place! My prediction is that number 8 has to come back because her powers have to do with the mind and that's key to defeating vecna. She can make him see things that are not there so she Can team up with El. I hope everyone gets a happy ending even though I feel like we're going to lose someone important. We'll see! I can't wait.

For any show that drops at midnight on weekdays, I always watch them first thing in the morning when I get to work. So imagine sitting in your spot at work quietly crying because Stranger Things has stressed you the f*ck out! I couldn't scream or holler. My nerves were frayed for really, for real, when Eddie got on that bike. I could not stand the tension. I felt like I needed to look up spoilers so I could be prepared for what my eyes were about to see. But I held out and went along on the ride, then boohooed and fogged up my glasses while sitting in my corner of the office. This season was absolutely fantastic. I miss Eddie already (I'm seriously devastated) and our sweet Max... 😭 And poor Will (I literally end every season having to say this). I can't wait to see how The Duffers close out the story, then I can prepare to see what they do with Death Note!!

SPOILER ALERT IF YOU HAVEN:T SEEN IT YET (WHY NOT? IT's July 12th already!!!). Some blame Papa and yes, he made a LOT of mistakes (starting with keeping him in the lab) but my thinking that Henry was the monster, OG and , the one who made Vecna was Henry himself. Everything in Stranger Things stems from him and his abilities, but also because he used them for bad (because it made his mom call in Brenner, and that's when he went on his first rampage). Yes, Hopper (David Harbour) lost a lot of weight from previous seasons. And yes, these actors/actresses in this show slayed it this season. Noah, Sadie, Caleb and Gaten had me sobbing at different times. All of them. --- My heart broken when Steve was talking bout thumps on the head. And the fact that the closer to Hawkins they got, the more Jonathan became more and more like the Jonathan we knew (down to his hair being less wild, neater appearance, etc.). Even the actor who played Henry/Vecna. Chef's kiss! And Will. That poor baby. My heart just breaks for him and I sure hope he gets his time to just feel in control of his own life and his moment to shine in season 5. Also big congrats and job well done to the Duffer brothers, other writers, directors, support staff (make up, costumes, set design, cgi/digital artists, etc.). This season rocked and you all were fantastic! But something is tied to Will (for season 5) because he is still connected to Vecna. And it seems like the upside down Hawkins was created the day will was taken. But did it happen because Will willed it into existence? Or did Vecna create it for him to feel more at home so he'd stay without fuss? Whatever it is, there is something odd because that baby (and he was a real little baby when he was taken) survived in the upside down longer than anyone and Vecna, the demigorgans and demigods, and Mind Flayer while they possessed him - none of them really hurt--hurt him (like kill/attack/eat). So there is some connection that I can't wait to find out.

The only reason netflix split the seasons up was to avoid people canceling their membership once they finished the season. Pretty much what happened to Disney+ when The Mandalorian 1st season ended

I bet 11s sister number 8 Kali will show up in season 5 and help train 11 TO FLY! Pappas said 11 has to be able to fly to beat Vecna...well, in the season 2 finale didnt she LEVITATE while she was closing the gate? I'm pretty sure she did. And watch Will have powers next season. Man I can't wait.

I just realized, remember when Dr. Brenner was using Eleven to go into the darkness to find Henry/Vecna/One and she couldn’t find anything besides sometimes running into a demagorgan, maybe like what you said Vecna has Max consciousness and is basically keeping it since she isn’t really dead and 11 will have to go into either Vecna mind, or back into the upside down to fight Vecna to save Max. Also, remember when hopper was discussing how some of the people work in the mines and their kids were born with certain defects, and those were good children that Dr. Brenner was taking.

Max is brain-dead. She is technically dead. (Per the writers as well.) You can restart the heart sometimes, but once you're gone, you are gone. It's possible that she may never come back.
