I wish they would’ve fleshed out Eleven’s “growth” and backstory in a different way. Yeah it didn’t fit tonally but they could’ve executed her characters arc in a way better way that wouldn’t even require such an episode. And we should’ve got a great story for her reuniting with the boys way before the end of episode 8.

SPOILERS I thought the idea was that Dustin's plot was halfway between E.T. and Gremlins. He finds the creature, bonds with it, it eats his cat and becomes part of a horde of monsters, but they still have that little moment at the end to imply there was a genuine connection.

Double Toasted is great. It sounds like they did the review for Stranger Things Season 2 on Halloween. It's actually fitting. The show is even made around Halloween time with the characters dressing up in costumes in one episode and everything. Some people might not think about this, but Halloween is a pretty unique holiday that is given more attention than some people might think. There isn’t any time off from school or work, but it is sort of a major deal. Merchandise, decorations, events, parties, shows and movies made for the holiday, etc. It has some pretty interesting aspects to it. It is the only holiday where people dress up as other things or people and go to other people’s houses; where people open their doors to complete strangers, or people they do not recognize because of the costumes, and give them gifts. People don’t even really do that for XMas. It's a holiday where normally avoided and frightening becomes the welcomed and attractive. I just wanted to wish everyone a happy Halloween and to remind people to, as always, stay safe and be careful.

I know its getting another season which is great but if this was the finale I’d be F*CKIN SATISFIED! The only ep that I was meh on was the episode where Eleven met that one girl and they had that whole bad girls vibe. my friends hated that ep but I was indifferent on it. I am only just completing season 1 of this show. and I have to admit I was a little underwhelmed by the show. It's a good show, but with the hype this show got I was expected this show to on the same level as Game Of Thrones. When it wasn't as great as the hype I felt a little disappointed by it. Maybe because I am a kid from the 80s and I could see all the joins so nothing seems original in it. They essentially borrowed plots, characters and devices from popular 1980s films and used a heavy dose of of nostalgia to hide the fact that they were stealing from 1980s films. Basically the Goonies movie had an orgy with ET, Monster house and Firestarter and Stranger Things is their love child. Maybe to someone who has not seen these movies might thing Stranger Things is really original but I have seen these movies and made me feel unoriginal the story was.

SPOILER ALERT: When sex does come up, complete with one pretty messed double entendre, it’s between two high school students. This might be a bit off putting, especially if you don’t remember your high school years. But it’s nowhere near as awkward, to put it mildly, as it would’ve been had the core cast members, who’re all junior high/middle school age, been involved.

Full Price for me as well. Love this season better than the first season...I do agree that the "Hive-mind" is an "easy fix" problem solution that was a mistake. Also, I felt Episode 7 also had another problem: Eight and Eleven didn't even have a discussion & dialogue about if there were more people experimented on like them out there (I mean they are Eight and Eleven). But other than that I loved this season.

I appreciate that Eleven had to go off on her journey to grow some and also appreciate what she had back home, but I agree with Corey Coleman that episode 7 didn't fit the rest of the series structure and that they could've condensed that message down to a much shorter scene. That being said, season 2 was overall excellent and as Girts said, it was scarier than season 1. As a child of the 80s (albeit at the time, I was a few years younger in 84 than the characters on the show) I really like that they don't shove the 80s references down your throat. Lastly, the characters are just so awesome that you really are invested in what's going on with them and are rooting for most of them.

I know I'm in the minority but I liked the 7th episode, without it the opening sequence is useless. I really loved that opening sequence of the season. It was vital to the story in that her "sister" taught her to reach down and harness her power and to be more powerful. I think it was emotional. I LOVED season2, Season 1 was good, this was significantly better IMO.

This season was more entertaining than the first one. (Still like the first one better) This season was more about Dustin and Steve. (Last season was more about Mike and Eleven) Favorite character was Dustin this season. (Last season was Eleven) The pairing of the group was good. The cast has great chemistry. Most of the new characters fit right in. (Didn't like the episode 7 new characters) The pacing was great until episode 7. The shows increase production values were great. There were also flaws this season. Episode 7 was misplace and written too cliche. (It destroy the pacing of the show) Eleven took too long to join up with the group. (She felt like she wasn't part of the group until the plot kick in Episode 9) Her backstory felt like going backward. (the moments feel like it is a bad rip from XMen/Dark Angel Storyline) Hive mind of the villain was a cop out. They should of went with world building instead of monster building. Their monsters building aren't the strength of the show. (Season 1 had a weak monster also) They should of explore more about the world/mythology of Upside Down more. ( I wanted to know more about that world after Season 1)

One of the charms of ST is the pacing, ep 7 being a filler made it feel more like a TV show than ever before. Either pace those events out or save it as a starting point for s3, this season didn't need to be 9 episodes.

If you haven't seen it, you have to watch Brett Gelman's Dinner in America. It's worth it just for Joe Morton's monologue. As for episode 7. It wasn't my favorite, but it was needed for Eleven's character development. The only reason why I'm not too critical of it is because they got it out of the way. I don't think I would have enjoyed this sub plot spread out through four episodes.

Ok. I dont know if anyone else had said this but here goes. You know how the first season had 8 episodes? Then in season two we meet 8. season 2 had nine episodes so in season 3 does that mean we will meet 9? And they said it would be four seasons so in season four will we have 8, 9, 10 and 11? Please don't destroy me.

This season was tough. So many things to get over. The first season was a classic. No issues. The second season starts to show cracks and then has some big missteps. For me the worst part was the 8th episode!! The build up was increasing my heart beat, I was on the edge of my seat and was waiting for ❤50 slimey/flower creatures would come through the house causing an amazing fight....aannnddd... Biggest let down in an action scene ever....they could have used sound effects.....nooope....they could have shown L fighting more outside. They could have shot a HUGE action scene and closed the show in a classic way (they use so many fake tropes anyway) and ... L walks through the door...and her entrance wasn't even that great. Compared to past build ups theyve done it wasn't impressive...even when she entered the dance at the end it wasn't impressed...but why get our hopes up and build our hearts up for...no fighting to happen and for one creature to fly through the window? Never been so ghosted in a TV show... Yes episode 7 sucked, I agree with most reviewers..fore the 80s punk scene here looked very, very poorly recreated UNLIKE the general 80s vibe and culture in the rest of the show...this should have felt more punk rock, instead it felt like a 2000's punk scene. The cinematography was very off. My GF said if they pulled out a cell phone it would have seemed normal..but I really hated the episode placement of this mostly because it was placed right before the finale episodes! Pulling me right out of the action...I was finally getting over some bad parts of the show and bam...now I have to get back into it on episode 8...now 8 had less affect. Very, annoying, sad, disappointing...THEN I GET EVEN MORE DISAPPOINTED BECAUSE THE BUILD UP FOR ACTION WAS WORTHLESS AND IM NOT EVEN AN ACTION MOVIE KIND OD GUY. Also I'm all for killing off characters but Bob gave the show some much needed lightness that the first season has, because the children felt so innocent, but the second season lacked. Killing off Bob was not helpful the show needs lightness. Lastly the script has always felt a bit off...too copy and paste..too paralelle...I already have to get over that and how the show is a mash-up of Spielberg's best...but then I have to deal with all this previously mentioned crap. Oh and the UPSIDE DOWN SUCKED IN SE02. THE UPSIDE USED TO BE SOOO VAST, instead it looks like only tunnels now.

Most of the season wasn't really about solving a mystery (like last year). The conflicts were mostly the repercussions of what we had seen in season 1. One might see that as something bad, but I saw it as a testament to how good the characters are (thanks to the writing and acting). I enjoyed watching them no matter what they were doing. That's why I felt excited when everyone got together in episode 8. That's also why episode 7 is bad. An ensemble show devotes an entire episode to 1 character. There were more episodes, yet the pacing was better. Therefore, I prefer this season. Some thoughts on the finale: -During the 1st scene, I kept waiting for one of the adults or maybe even MIKE to try to wipe the blood under ELEVEN's nose (since she wasn't doing it). -NANCY tries to convince STEVE that there's nothing between her and JONATHAN while STEVE insists that she goes with him. She could've at least said "You're wrong about being a shitty boyfriend." -When BILLY asks STEVE if he has seen MAX, he says "My 13-year-old sister disappears all day..." I thought he didn't like to refer to her as his sister. -While the last 10 minutes were incredibly heart-warming, I don't think some things should've been forgotten. OK, the ELEVEN/MAX rivalry will be left for next season, but not even a mention of BOB? How did NANCY react when she found out that LUCAS had promised the arcade guy that she would go out with him?

Show and season 2 was awesome, just didn't like how the group dissed Mad Max. Ok she's no Eleven, I get it, but she's awesome as hell!!!!! And they did my boy Sean Austin dirty as well. But other then that season was great.

Am I the only person who likes episode 7? I thought it had a few cool scenes, and it expanded the lore. I don't get the hate for the episode. I liked the setting too. I'm really struggling to comprehend where people are coming from on this one, from the opening scene of the season I wanted to see more of 8 and her crew, wanted to know what that sequence was all about.... I agree with most fans on most things, but that episode is getting really unfairly hated on imo. I think people are confusing the aesthetic with the thematics. Thematically it all worked fine. It just took us away from the main story for too long, so it felt like a spin off, but if they literally broke that episode up and scattered it throughout the final 2 or 3 episodes, like a cut away to Elle's story, nobody would even care.

The_Angry_Raccoon Although I'm one of the people who thinks that that episode wasn't too good, I also think a lot of it has to do with where the episode is placed. It's right after the ending of episode 6, where the main plot line had been building up to the climax. So for the entirety of episode 7 you're just thinking about the main plot and not Eleven's story which is frustrating

I wanna know how she knew that was Chicago specifically. Like....one glimpse of a girl standing aside a barrel fire and she’s like “oh that’s Chicago in this specific abandoned warehouse in this specific area in the city” and presto chango she’s there.

Yeah Season 2 lived up to all the hype for me. There were a couple of scenes that legit scared me. Also this season became it's own for me, it wasn't just a nostalgia fest for me. I do agree with Korey the whole hive mind is played out. In stranger things I think it's appropriate because of Cold War and the Soviets. That is how the soviet was portrayed as this hive mind. Great job by the Duffer brothers. Also Hollywood should be coming to these guys for all their 80's reboots.

This should have just been a spoiler review. Coleman gets on Goodwin about spoilers but the clips he show telegraph what’s taking place and he reveals plot points anyway. Like the fact that Hopper is hiding Eleven. You don’t know that unless you’ve started season 2. With a completed season of tv, it’s not so simple as just laying out a synopsis because I think it’s easy to forget what people know and what they don’t once you’ve consumed so many episodes. Plus I feel like a good contingency of the audience binges Stranger Things so those tuning in have most likely already watched it in its entirety and are wanting a reaction/review without the crew having to refrain.

The sad part about episode 7 is that they clearly wanted it to be THE episode this season. Although it all just felt so lame, I'm honestly not sure what they were thinking.

Dan Brennan Really? The Mind Flayer seems like the obvious stand out episode, in terms of acting and direction. It’s definitely going to be the one they submit for Emmy season.
