For me the only problems with S3 is that they did Will/Noah really dirty and that Mike and Eleven’s whole relationship was a cliche mess. edit: i left this comment 3 years ago. i still stand by the things i said for the most part, but i think that it's important to note that mike's parents show little to no affection for one another over the course of the entire series. this obviously has its impact on his relationship with el. ofc, this isn't an excuse but it's an explanation. mixed with el's general emotional immaturity (which makes sense given what she's been through), their relationship spells DISASTER. if they were an irl couple id genuinely suggest that they take a good, long break and grow separately. i'd personally prefer for el to remain single, but that's probably just me. edit 2: i left this comment 4 years ago and uhh fuck netflix free palestine :))

About the ending where she moves away, yeah its cliche but its pre-Skype cliche. So at least the younger audience doesn't see this cliche in their everyday lives. Nowadays when teens move away they EASILY stay in contact. Instead of letters & expensive long-distance calls its free video chats! These days a long-distance relationship is manageable. Back then it was so tough.

Noah Schnapps acting is amazing in Season 2. I was so disappointed with what little they gave his character to do in Season 3. I hope that changes next Season, and the writers stop being so concerned with adding new characters every time.

Season 1 was more suspenseful, grounded, and mysterious. A mechanic is secretly spying on your house? A kid's body was faked? That stuff was actually really intriguing and I couldn't stop watching. But season 3 is almost comical, the characters basically only have one trait that they express throughout the whole season. It was fun, but still, it's a complete downgrade. At least it wasn't game of thrones.

i thought S3 was the best so far, at the very least the most enjoyable.. S1 was awesome and new, S2 didnt have the same impact as season 1 and had some pacing issue's (the infamous ep7) S3 after a 2 year wait was really great and made me laugh out loud and cry (hoppers letter at the end) and unlike GOT, the year wait was satisfyng to watch :-) :-)

Three things I didn't like about Season 3: 1/ Almost no tension. I was never hyped for the upcoming episode. @@robespierre2837 Season 2 is not scary at all, not even disturbing in the way even Season 3 sometimes could (I'm talking primarily the scenes with Billy, particularly the one with him and Heather axing off her parents, the only one in the entire season that actually felt like Season 1 in its eeriness-also, Heather's actress was hot af and that's always a plus). I mean, it tried like fuck but it _never_ once succeeded, at least not for me. I could literally hear the Duffers practically begging me on their knees to as much as flinch during the Aliens-ripping off lab shootout but I never did. Stranger Things has some of the worst jumpscares I've ever seen in film, you can see them from a mile away. I mean, was anyone even a tiny bit surprised when Bob was offed the moment _everything_ made it look like he would make out okay? Although credit where credit is due, this is the only love triangle in S2 out of three (!) they actually cheaped their way out of by murdering one of the guys involved.

lil toopy the entire third season was about stopping the Russians from opening the gate. So I would argue the third season focused on the gate and the fear of Russians gaining access to the upside down, not the upside down itself. The upside down is hardly mentioned, and the main villains, Billy and The Meatflayer, were already in the over world by the time the season started. Plus, the Hardly ever mention the upside down in the third season, the focus is more on the gate itself. So I personally feel like the upside down itself has been put on the back burner and has recently only been in the show to be a place for all of the monsters to come from, not necessarily the main problem, which I believe it should be. I personally would like to see a sort of investigation of the upside down, I am personally very curious of the up side down, but I’ll be satisfied if they visit it at least one more time. My main concern was the lack mystery and dullness the show had to offer in Season 1. In the first episode we see Russians trying to open up a portal to the Upside Down and Billy getting possessed. We spend the entire rest of the season watching characters try to solve mysteries that we already know while trying to resolve seemingly harmless conflict. Plus, I loved the realistic and late autumn vibe the first season had to offer. It really blended well with the mystery horror it had. Plus, the color palette used in this season was way to vibrant and cartoony like you said

That scene where Lucas just talks about new coke was just... cringe.

And Mike never saved her from the monsters of season 1 or 2, she saved him multiple times though. So what do you mean?

@@darencolby1916 Hopper wasnt being shitty to mike because he understood how trauma bonding worked and that that was the basis of their relationship, he was shitty to mike because a.he was jealous and b.felt he owned eleven. Eleven was also being hunted by the demogorgons like everyone else, and honestly I'm not convinced Brenner would've allowed another experiment to escape just because she's expensive and useful. A decade long effort wasted? Sure. But at least there wouldn't be another special big brain angry child running around bending spoons and shit on her own free will, or potentially being taken by The Russians and being used against them. Mike found her and housed her, Mike was her second contact with another human being unrelated to the experiments (RIP Benny). Mike was more or less Eleven's will, Eleven's conscience, Eleven's reason to act, and her dictionary until she was able to at least somewhat develop her own. Eleven would've gone back with Brenner, thinking that the world was cruel and he was the only source of kindness she'd ever have, had she not met and been helped by Mike, Dustin, and Lucas. She was afraid but had no reason to try to fix anything without them.

Jonathan took photos of Nancy in her bedroom without permission, so yeah, Steve's antagonism is understandable. And likewise, Jonathan and Nancy suddenly spending late nights together without explaining it to him would cause jealousy, even if Steve handled it the wrong way. And even his actions were egged on by a bad company he hanged around. Compared to Billie, who never had much reason for being a jackass in situations other than "my childhood".

A Skeleton Dustin and Steve were okay to me - Idk why but I don’t normally like the weird, funny characters mostly because I’m not a big fan of comedy. I like characters more whose personalities are mainly serious or smart, etc. but still has some funny lines and dynamics here and there to make the show a bit relatable rather than just characters who are always comedic even in the middle of serious life and death situations.

I feel like Season 3 was a distorted reflection of what the writers thought people liked about the show. They amped up the 80s-ness, doubled down on the shipping aspect, included large amounts of gooey gross out imagery... and played the "russians bad" trope so straight the Washington Monument is trembling in sheer terror. And the fact that Season 4 will probably delve even further into this gets a beleaguered sigh from me. The political subtext worked best when it *was* subtext.

My biggest problem with this season was how Mike’s character and his relationship with El was handled. I just..he feels like a complete jerk now. I get it, he’s traumatized, but so are the rest of the kids. I was so excited for some heartfelt moments between the two after everything that happened in one and two but all we got was…teen drama? Also the way he treated Dustin and especially Will felt so off to me. I liked the rest of it tho!

I actually thought their behaviour and the teen drama was a pretty good representation of young teens growing up and having feelings for the first time, not knowing how to handle them, getting blind-sighted by their own infatuation, forgetting about their friends, growing out of favourite childhood games, friends getting jealous of new girlfriends/boyfriends, screwing up relationships, etc etc I like that despite all the serious dark stuff going on in their world, they're still realistically portrayed as kids entering puberty and the way those hormones mess with your head when that happens.

But the horror aspect of the season just wasn't there, I'm sorry I know a lot of people like this physical form of the mind flayer but I really didn't like it. Honestly I really liked the idea of the mind flayer being the puppet master, using others to do its bidding, it added a lot more impact to the horror aspect rather than just obnoxious horror. And to be frank, the exploding residue of the rats/ people just looked like bland chilli. Totally LOVED the friendship dynamics tho they NAILED that.

exactly, i watched season 1 just because of how suspenseful and mysterious it was AND I JUST WANTED TO KNOW WHERE WILL IS, in season 2, there were at least some suspenseful and creepy moments. But in season 3, they lost the main point of the story, *The Friendship* Mike and Lucas treated Dustin and Will like shits, none of the characters had the main focus, they just showed and told us EVERYTHING without letting us figure it out WHYY!! the only moments I liked was the scoops troops funny moments, all of them coming together in the mall and joining the dots and the emotionally intense scene. They ruined Mike's character as a friend and presented Max as she doesn't care about anyone.

Will basically had no screen time, and when he did he just kept on saying the same two words over and over. There was far too much focus on romance, so how Steve and Robin's relationship developed was such a relief. The placement of music was weird, playing upbeat 80s tracks in tragic/horrific scenes, which completely ruined the tone for me (they didn't do this in season 1 or 2, so why now?). They tried way too hard to make it funny far too much - in every scene that felt like the characters needed to acknowledge the gravity of the situation, it was lessened by them dropping a weak joke instead. There was no emotional investment in this at all for me, beyond being a little disappointed that Billy's potentially complex character was written off so weakly. Where was the genuine fear and tension from Season 1 (or even a little from season 2)? Where was the horror, instead of just vague disgust for how gross this seasons monster was? All in all, I thought it was damn awful and seriously thought it had been written by different writers.

It reminds me of the Rocky franchise... Rocky 1 felt like an honest, grounded story taking place in the real world. Rocky 4 is a wacky, over the top battle between two invincible supermen and also there's a talking robot. The thing that made season one so powerful was how real it felt. It took the threat of a monster coming from another dimension seriously and gave us a grounded world for that threat to interact with. Season 3 is just a collection of clichés and tropes from 80s movies. The immersiveness of the universe is gone. It may still be good, but it's no longer special.

Hopper didn't become an overbearing dad he was nearly abusive spending his time drinking, yelling or just ignoring Eleven. He belittled Joyce, screamed at her and beat the shit out of almost every male character he came across. He also threatened Mike like he was just some random teen boy he didn't know. He went from someone who looked like he was learning to love to a wall-punching rage machine misogynist. I really hated what they did to him. That was one of my biggest issues with season 3-instead of having this natural kids grow a part people change arc they wrote the characters like they didn't know each other, like they hadn't been not just through traumatic life changing event together but 2. Even Jonathan was a bit of an asshole not taking Nancy seriously and blaming her for his actions. I didn't feel like I was watching the same show from the 2 previous seasons.

My main issues with season 3 and why i`m worried for the next seasons: 1. They have to tone down the monsters' strength a bit, back to where things can be solved or handled by an ordinary human - maybe with guns, or a baseball bat, for example. They've been relying way too heavily on El's powers since season 2, and in this season she barely could get things done. Possessed Billy almost got the best of her, the Mindflayer overpowered her a few times... The way things are escalating, she alone won't be enough to deal with these things, unless they make her way stronger - which could feel cheap - or they start introducing more characters with powers - which could turn Stranger Things into an anime, and i'm not sure that would be a good thing. 2. Things are escalating to a point where it's getting really hard to believe that everything's being solved by kids. I personally couldn't come to terms with it this season, it's way too fucking bonkers in my opinion. When Steve and Robin and Dustin kept going on with the investigation like it was summer camp after seeing the armed russians guarding the building... that left me baffled. 3. To be honest, i'm glad Hopper "died". He either had to or they had to give him a massive redemption arc. I was honestly scared by him, he was so cartoonishly angry and pissed all the time, it was starting to get to a point where he was becoming abusive. At some point in the season i was starting to root for things to not go his way. 4. That singing scene. Isolated, yeah, it was cute. Considering the context? That shit was annoying and absurd and i wanted to punch those kids in the face. I have to give props to how "efficient" the writing is getting for Netflix, tho. Even though it has less episodes, it felt like so much happened in each episode of this season, while not feeling rushed at the same time. I like it.

They don't need new characters or even military, just let the other components of the cast be useful. They love doing this montage with everybody gathering up and preparing for battle, but let's be honest, everyone besides El do nothing in combat. They need five or more people for what? To cut some tentacle trying to kidnap Eleven? Nancy and Jonathan were pretty important in the second season, in the third they have to be rescued by Eleven after trying to find out what everybody already knew. Some of these characters are feeling like extras. The best addition to the cast this last season was Robin, girl fucking decoded a message in a language she didn't even knew before. Next to Steve and Dustin, Robin was like a superhero.

In Season 2, I'm pretty sure Billy's purpose was to challenge Steve's popularity and to serve as his foil. Both have roots as douchey jocks, but one was slowly moving beyond that characterization, while the other was doubling down on it. It's hard now for the writers, they've made EL so powerful she's basically superman, they even had a little wonder-woman reference in Season 3. That's partly the reason the Matrix Reloaded was so bad, Neo was too powerful, there wasn't a single fight where he wasn't totally on top of things. From the point of view of fighting the monster Eleven the other ordinary characters without any powers bring nothing to the fight scenes.

Season 1 will always be the best. I loved the eerie horror vibe to it. The humor was on point and NOT OVERDONE, the writing was fantastic, and the dark gritty visuals really drew me in. The main thing that bugs me about season 3 was how gratuitious El's leg wound was. Like it makes you physically uncomfortable watching them "operate" on her. I get that's entirely intentional, but given Stranger Things has generally been realistic with how it treats its characters as fragile human beings, the fact El could SURVIVE such a horrific "operation" on her leg and NOT bleed out felt unrealistic. She even rips the piece of the Mind Flayer out of her leg which should have realistically killed her from blood loss and trauma. That and in the next scene she's standing and walking unaided...Until the Billy chase scene happens. THEN suddenly she's unable to walk unaided. That and her powers disappearing wasn't explained.

Maybe her powers were all subconsciously directed towards healing her leg/preventing blood loss? Either they're still working on something to do with her leg (fighting off some sort of toxin from the Mind Flayer?), or they're simply suppressed by her emotions? El should have died from blood loss anyway due to how heavily everybody relies on her to get things done. The other characters may do most of the investigating, but the investigation generally leads to some point where the solution is "have El do x", or they get in a situation where they need El to deus ex the fuck of them out of the monster's grasp. I think after some point, she uses her powers every single episode at least once.

Everyone was a superhuman this season. The fight at the hospital should have killed Jonathan or make him a paraplegic for the rest of his life. Same for Steve. He got beat up for hours until unconsciousness, no way he would've been able to drive a couple of hours later.

Couple things: 1) I like your take on how Mike is sort of being deconstructed as the main character, which is something that really hit me this season. If anything, he becomes more of a background character than a lead this season. 2) Steve is the best-written character on the show in my opinion, and his adventure with Dustin, Erika, and Robin (who was my favorite addition to this season) was the best storyline of this season, so I agree with you on that, too. 3) I also agree that the show has more or less lost its overarching plot or sense of narrative. The closest thing I can approximate my feelings to when I saw the post-credits scene (which didn’t excite me at all for more Stranger Things) was that I was now watching something like Scooby-Doo. Every episode, the gang takes out another threat, aaaaaaand that’s it. They just keep moving from threat to threat. And that’s what I think Stranger Things has become and will continue to become: someone wants to open the portal, the gang inadvertently stops them; someone wants to reopen the portal, the gang inadvertently stops them; hijinks ensue! That’s not to say it’s not still engaging, but I’d be lying if I didn’t say I wish they were trying to go for something more narratively cohesive on a macro level. 4) The slapstick and overly cartoonish humor aspect of this season brought me to a full stop when Dustin and Suzy have their singing duet. I mean, if you REALLY want to think about it, the amount of time they took to sing the song could have very well been more than enough time for Hopper and Joyce to do their stuff quicker, and Hopper may very well have not had to “die” for it. Granted, the scene is cute and it was funny, but when you rewatch season 1 (as I recently did) and feel the tension in the last few episodes, and compare it to...this? It really cheapens Stranger Things for me.

I very much agree with you on the part with Mike. A lot of fans are complaining about Will's story of these season which is basically just touching his neck and trying to play d&d. However, I can't help but to notice Mike's arc too. It would be nice if the next season will be a combinations of all the seasons 1-3's acting. I mean, these kids can REALLY act. I feel that Finn, Caleb and Noah didn't get the chance to show their true acting abilities this season. Finn, Caleb, Gaten has shown their amazing acting skills in the first season, we have seen Noah's amazing acting abilities the second season, and for me, Millie really did outstand her acting skills the third season definitely my favorite acting of her in the last three seasons. I hope they can explore more of this and also give Mike a great arc like the first season did and not just someone who loves El. As much as I had enjoyed the third season, it kind of felt different to me comparing to the first two seasons. Idk, yes it's funny and cute, it had its great moments but somehow it feels empty to me? Like it's like a mirror of the first two seasons, there's a lot of parallel scenes and unnecessary scenes in which if you take those scenes out the plot will still be the same. Also, it's nice to see Steve's arc, I get that he is fans' favorite but I think his redemption arc can come to an end now. It would be nice to see Jonathan's arc too. I mean, in all three seasons he was just portrayed as shy and nice and kind of a weak character compared to Nancy and Steve's arc. I hope they would explore his arc too. Lastly, as much as I get that it's 'summer' vibes and it has become a lighter tone season of ST, I hope they'll be back on a darker tone Stranger Things like the first two season. It would be nice if ST3 will be like the calm before the storm. Anyways, I will still watch the next season because I think it's still watchable and a good series.

The first season felt thought through and coherent. The fact that you did not know anything about the other world meant that they could get away with anything regarding it. Things got a bit worse in season two as suddenly the monsters required humans to keep the gate open. As opposed to the demigorgon who could go back and forth at will. But I forgave them because the mindflayer was cool. The demidogs being immune to bullets in one episode and dying like flies to them a few episodes later was stupid however. In my mind-canon Hopper only pretended to shoot at the demidog killing his love rival because he really wanted him to die. Yea, Hopper murdering him makes much more sense than the alternative. Third season is the place where it all goes off the rails. Am I to believe that an entire army of uniformed Russians invaded Hawkings and built a giant subterranean base and no one noticed? In this little community where everyone knows everyone? Really? And the mindflayer became simultaneously invincible and super weak. The big monsters were pound for pound much weaker and pathetic than just Billy alone. No really, it would have been much better if the season had been just body snatchers. A much more credible threat. Perhaps too credible. I have no idea how Billy could break free from an alien that had enough control over his body that he could turn every part of his body to mush at will. Also, by making the useless big monster the Mindflayer gives itself away. Before it showed up no one knew there even were an alien. But its hard to explain away that thing.

I still love the show a huge amount, but I really could feel there was something different about it once I got into season 3. The thing that I noticed the most is that I was almost starting to dislike Eleven at parts, because of how much the show overused her. Thought to myself “None of the other characters seem capable or important now. What’s the point of them when Eleven can just do everything?” It annoyed me how every other characters seemed weak unless she was there, but that’s just my opinion.

Strange, I disagree with popular opinion on this one. Stranger Things 1 was a 9/10 for me. It was the mystery, the drama, the characters, the horror. Stranger Things 2 was a 8/10. The Mind Flayer gave me goosebumps with him possessing Will, the drawings, the mystery of the tunnels. Every episode felt like there were more pieces added to the puzzle. I loved it. Stranger Things 3 was a 4/10. I felt no suspense trough the whole thing. Yes it was bonkers and really funny, had great moments, great new character developement and cinematography. But the whole plot makes no sense. Its illogical. The mystical aspects are gone. The horror. The investigation. Now its not normal believable humans going against unbelievably horrifying monsters anymore. Suddenly its fucking superheroes who know they are superheroes and act like fucking morons 99% of the time. They infiltrate some dangerous places for no reason at all, risking their lives, and somehow manage to conveniently stumble into the right situations to lazily keep the plot moving. Well, I didnt enjoy it too much, still had a fine time watching it, and now Im just hoping they will go back to things I liked from Seasons 1 and 2 for the upcoming Seasons.

I think Hopper would have "died" anyway. The more i think about it, Hopper's death feels less organic and more like something the writers just wanted to happen - sorta like GoT's "zombie polar bear" situation. So even if there was no singing, i think they'd just Deus Ex the Terminator in one way or another. Billy maaaaybe could have survived, though. With that said, i fuking hated the singing scene. I really wanted to kick that girl's face during it.

But if we count that then we can call development for pretty much every character "a redemption arc". And that "elation saves the world" crap is just a theme you're inventing to make the scene have sense for you. We don't even know if that's what the writers intended. But even if they did, it still doesn't make sense because the song didn't help in anything the characters were doing, it was an obstacle. An obstacle that resulted i Hoppers death. So we might as well say that "True elation kills you" is the message of the scene.

S1 had me convinced that this was the greatest show ever created, perfectly written, balanced, and fleshed out. I was honestly so obsessed and in love with this show. S2 seemed a bit lost and unsure in its writing with less strength and direction as the season before it. S3 was such a disappointment. It felt like nothing more than a filler season, saving the rest of the more exciting things, that one would expect from the show, for the last season or two. I felt like it was nothing more than safe, and almost lazy writing. It was stuffed with arcs that were nothing more than attempts to please the fans (ie. lots of Mike and Eleven screentime, Murray once again talking a pair into getting together, etc.), and it took such an abrupt turn from the Upside-Down to a Russian invasion??? Little buildup to this season, and a very confusion chapter to the story overall. I hope the writers will put in more of an effort and take more risks in the future season(s) to come back from this disappointing turn.

I think they had to write that in a bit because of the age the cast had got to and the original teenager characters were getting older. Not sure it needed quite so much attention though. It's just a bit lazy too, you see it in loads of shows, at the end of a season two characters get together, so the next season you of course need to break them up for no good reason just to get more drama because God forbid you actually have a whole season of two characters happily in relationship together.

Maybe I just misjudged this show for being better than it really was.

@@jimslav6973 That was the conclusion i came to after season 2. A lot of moments that looked like foreshadowing or worldbuilding in season 1 were revealed in season 2 to have just been kind of fake deep; it was clear they hadn't put them in for a reason or even really utilized them when continuing the story. I didn't see s3 for that reason, though I did rewatch season 1 recently and it held up. But I don't want to ruin it by watching more of the show.

Season 3 is... definitely better than Season 2, for whatever that's worth. In other words, it's not a complete vapid retread minus character development. Season 3 doesn't make you... seriously consider suicide while you suffer through a backdoor pilot in Chicago with the most unlikable new crew in existence. It's... FINE. That's about the best review I can manage. It's mediocre but serviceable entertainment.

I felt the adding new characters every season definitely is a problem. I like the new additions, like Max and Robin and I loved what they did with Billy this season but it makes it more crowded and could lead to too many characters to care about. Another point was due to El losing her powers made the Mind Flayer much more of a threat. That was where I was much engaged with everything

The problem is not adding more characters but feeling obligated to keep old ones. Nancy and Jonathan could’ve been completely removed from this season and it wouldn’t have mattered one bit

The addition of new characters could be fine but what has ended up happening is that the new characters either have no substance or they end up pushing other characters to the background. Like Nancy and Jonathan, for example, have very little to do lately

Lucas’ sister was an awful character to add. She was just thrown into season 2 for no reason other then to add a few annoying lines, and now she’s right in the middle of the story and still adds nothing.

Danbo 22 I agree, in season 1 and 2 I loved Nancy and Jonathan’s storyline, but this season I feel like Nancy was important but Jonathan did nothing except complain and follow her around.

They literally start by giving the viewers all of the answers first and then making us sit there while the characters figure out things we've already been shown. You can prefer whatever season you want, but it's objectively false to say that 3 had more mystery.

Someone needs to take season 3 and get rid of the following: - Mike & Eleven’s Cliché Relationship Problems - Most of Johnathon & Nancy’s storyline because that was boring for the most part - Mike & Lucas being a jerk to Will - The NeverEnding Story Scene - Get rid of all of Erica’s “cliché sassy black girl” lines

@Cristin Clark that’s literally the only super abnormal thing that happened in that season. Whenever people say season three is too normal, fans point to the melting thing because literally nothing else happened. In season one every episode had its own weird, freaky thing.

Like I don’t like how will is unimportant. I do think he needed a break from the upside down, but he seemed thrown in. And mike and El’s relationship turned into just some random unimportant relationship like all teenagers, which is not what they are

(grew up in 70s/80s) TJW mentioned about it progressing from "neutral 80s" to "movie 80s", and yeah that's a trend one saw during that time. except i called it "normal 80s" vs "spritzy 80s". so when i saw the trailer to S3, was all "here come the SPRITZY 80s!" relationships: yeah, they develop relationships; then it's like they don't know what to do with them afterwards.

The cartoonish direction really ruined it for me. It feels like they've narrowed their demographic to teenagers and young adults. The first and second season seemed to have a much more varied tone. They managed to fit a lot of light hearted humor into an otherwise tense and dark scenario. The third season has completely lost that dynamic and no longer feels like it has anyone over 25 in mind. The goofiness of it only made me feel talked down to and I can't bring myself to finish this season.

In Season 2 I was ok with it, but the tone of anxiety and unease they developed in the first season is completely dissipated by Season 3. The anxiety we felt through Nancy seemingly being stalked along with her grief over Barb's disappearance, and Joyce's determination to find Will, made the show so emotionally charged. It was so immersive. To sacrifice that tone in order to add more characters... It was a mistake. I think production (the fantastic set of the mall, the costumes, lighting) was the best part of Season 3 but I deeply miss that unease and fear that made the show so good. The plot and tone is that of a completely different show. I wish they were able to incorporate the production value that was unique to Season 3 with the suspense and fear that was so integral to Season 1's success. And the scene with Dustin and his girlfriend was so pointless. I literally couldn't watch the scene when they broke out in song, I skipped it completely. It was actually interesting that we didn't know if Dustin was lying about her or not and they just blatantly ruined it.

I personally just preferred the mysterious tone and feel of the show overall in season 1. I really loved it, I haven't finished season 3 yet it just feels... different. I dunno. Season 1 felt like it had more heart and was more of a passion project.

Nancy and Steve have completely drifted apart. It makes sense that it would be hard for former lovers to even interact. It was more weird to me that El and Will had virtually no dialogue given that they are the 2 closest people to Mike.

I just feel that the creators have found a formula that works and now because its the third season that formula is kind of getting old. The first four episodes set up the characters and monsters, and the last four have the fighting and battle against the monster.
