Loved this one thanks. I have been to some parts of Sichuan. Everywhere I went I was usually the only foreigner I saw when I went for a stroll. Many friendly people approached me but sad to say my Chinese was not up to the task. It didn't usually matter as a lot of people wanted to practice their English on me anyway. In my 6 weeks of travel I never met any one who was the slightest bit unfriendly. Xichang seems an almost idyllic place to live. I assume you visited as it is a Green City Case Study. Sounds even better when you know that. Beautiful.

I was in Xichang once. And it was raining dogs and cats. Happy to see what I missed 😅 that time I was actually planning to go to the mountains for 火把节 but it was the last year of pandemic and local people didn't allow me to enter since I am foreigner as well. Xichang and Cold mountains were not on stars for me that time. Maybe next time :)

I love how you don't get offended by random or "negative" comments from people in China - they mostly meant well and I have noticed those who are well traveled usually don't take offense.
