The loading of this show train has changed since I was on the show in 1975. From watching the video, it seems like "Work Smart, not Hard" is now in effect. All of the wagons used to be "poled" up the "runs" by a tractor and cable. The simi truck driving up the "runs' and hooking the wagons in tandum seems to be much more effficient. There are far less wagons on the show and many more simi-trailerss.

If that truck had pulled all those box trailers on the ground, it would be an American version of the Australian Road Train. Very cool!

Yes the system to load/unload the "Show Train" has changed since I traveled with JESS. The old system was hard for sure. Lining the wagons up according to length, then pulling them onto the cars with a tractor & cable while guiding the lead wagon using it's tongue and brute force was the way back then. I miss all those colorful wagons. Some of them back then had the original steel wheels with hard rubber tires. I do not remember and blondes/women hanging around the ramp back then either.

Nice video! It looks like a train riding on another train!

That's the same way the RBB&B Circus has been doing it for nearly 100 years (Likely longer), RBB&B has the largest fleet of private railcars to haul not only wagons, but also performers nation wide... The circus performers live on Pullman type sleepers, elephants & big cats ride in heavyweight baggage/express cars & circus displays roll up ramps at the end of the trains, which are often 70+ cars long..
