Hi TGV, after watching this last night around midnight, I went to straton's website. A fab site , I contacted the company to say I'd heard about them from you etc. kyle the owner replied with thanks etc at 1.00 am his time. what I'm trying to say is that this guy not only has a great brand and business but is also hands on all the way. great to see that kind of dedication and enthusiasm. we should all buy from him and help him on his way! Beautiful, beautiful watches! The curve and the syncro make anyone salivate... The price for the curve is right and probably this will occur with syncro. This brand has achieved the balance between the quality and price we expect from a brand that was born recently. I was shocked to read a review of a new micro-brand in the US asking $25,000 for a watch that is not even close to the beauty and style that Straton Watches have. Excellent review as always, TGV.

A good watch is much more than the sum of its parts! It's not because the costs to design and make a watch are high that you expect the buyers to pay any price for them. The market is flooded of stunning watches at such pricing point.

As an owner of a vintage, manual wind panda dial 'racing' chrono, i can say -- these look very cool, especially the automatic. hopefully this brand can add a manual-wind model, THAT would be cool and 'retro' period appropriate.

Wow, I can't believe he came up with another homerun design! If I could have got my hands on the Curve automatic I would have purchased it as well. I realize micro-brand is appropriate for such a small company but to design with such verve, flair and balance on multiple occasions is astounding. The automatic version got me super pumped! I really find this design very attractive (though I don't like the Tudor Monaco which I believe served as inspiration for this one), the info about the movement also got me excited. As someone who owns, drives and works on classic cars I have to say this is a great driver's watch. The lumed bezel is great because during night drives it makes it quickly legible in a dark cabin and doesn't distract from the road. It really looks like its come from the late 60's or early 70's. I know Kyle and he loves his classic Alfas. He just gets it. And the passion translates into his watches.

Great intro. I worry about the thickness of the Straton watches on my wrist. I also was torn on which sizing to choose, but your information helps. Now that it's 2019, I feel it's safe to say the giant watch trend is receding, though I could be wrong. I do feel 40-42mm is the good combination of not too big, but big enough to have a decent presence on my 7.25" wrist. I agree on the plus of the Seiko movement choice. I just received a 40mm quartz used from ebay. Silver dial with the blue subs, checkered bezel. Subs are 60 minute and 24 hour. I bought it because of the 70's / 80's style and it's unique sub dials. The colors remind me of the Heuer Monaco I'll probably never own. The watch is a bit chunky but it's really not that bad. If any of you are put off by the thickness, don't sweat it and buy it if you like it. The one thing I can't understand is why use a 24 hour sub on a racing inspired chronograph? I would have much rather a 60 second sub instead of the 24 hour.

These designs from the face to the band look a lot like many Zodiacs, which for my $$ are also a well made and often bypassed brand with a very long heritage. They are also a good value and can be found on line in the used market and have a huge following. Although these are absolutely gorgeous!

The "curve" case is almost identical to the Oris Chronoris - which is another vintage re-release chrono you should review - its got lots of innovative features including a quarter turn release crown (!) and no second hand.

I like it. It's easy to see the Hamilton Pan Europ influence. The blue dial is very much like the reissue of Hamilton Pan Europ Auto Chrono. I can't imagine it is anywhere near the cost of the Hamilton or god forbid the Tag Monaco series! Great watch. Great review.

It's a beautiful watch, and I think it's been inspired not only by the Tudor Monte Carlo but also the Tag Monaco ,but I'm not crazy about the display back!! I think if the movement was more decorated yes you should make it display back, other than that I don't think so, but it's a beautiful piece and it screams racing
