Strawfoot Despite their commendable contribution to the world with instigating the Great Dragon War and defeating the Ancient Civilisation, Fatalis, or at least just the Black/Purple one, is not a beast to commend or respect. As the quote goes “He who fights monsters should see to it that he does not become one himself”. Mocking the Ancient Civilisation by creating its own flesh armour does not forgive that foul deed as it is only slightly better than what the Civilisation did, and it was the one who brought the Black Blight into the world, which would have caused even more damage than the Civilisation if it wasn’t stopped.

Fatalis seems as if he acted as a god of justice and revenge in the old age, destroying an evil empire that killed many innocents, yet also destroying countless people after, avenging monsters and Dragons alike. As stated in lore, they seek to cause death and destruction 1000 fold to humans and wyvern answer for all the death and destruction that humans and wyvern answer caused. Fatalis embodies the justice of dragons, harsh and brutal, but at the same time, almost fair. For whom could blame his kind for wanting justice. Some could say dragons from the old age have PTSD.

@@bluerascal370 Those are the Lyrics to the Song that children start to sing whenever Fatalis awakens again. Atleast that's what the mh1 hunters notes said. In some legends about the Fatalis, there is a legend known by some as the *Black Flame* . This legend claims that the *Second Coming of Fatalis* is infinite. The Fatalis in this legend is quite different from the Fatalis seen in the other legends. This Fatalis is described to have six horns, a glowing blue chest, a short mane in between its spikes, bizarre fluids flowing through out its body, and the ability to control an element known as *Black Flame* . Black Flame is said to combine the elements Fire and Dragon together into a deadly combination. Despite both being combined together, Dragon seems to overtake this Fatalis's body, allowing it to do things not seen in other legends. This Fatalis is said to be able to send monsters running with a single flap of its wings. A creepy light coming from its eyes invites those it stares at into its dark depths. The fluids are said to have no exact weight and to be possibly caused by the Dragon Element. The very Dragon Element is said to be controlled by its horns. Its shell is impervious to strikes from weapons and has terrifying power inside of it, which could be unleashed at anytime. The scariest part about this legend is that not only is its strength far beyond the ones from the other legends, but its body shows signs of possible regenerative powers. This means that this Fatalis maybe able to regenerate after taking large amounts of damage, just like Dire Miralis can regenerate from its still beating heart. Thankfully, this legend hasn't been proven as of yet so the Guild has nothing to worry about. One thing that all the legends share about Fatalis is its equipment. This equipment is much more than what it appears to be. When hunters wear this monster's armor, they are known to disappear mysteriously without a trace or even die if the armor is worn for too long. Some who have worn the Fatalis's armor report having terrible nightmares, unsettling strength, and a feeling as if they were being possessed by something. They also report feeling a familiar pulse coming from the armor, a feeling as if their legs were taken from them. With some hunters wearing the armor of the Black Flame, they report feeling as if their body was taken over while they were unconscious. It is said that this equipment might be alive, meaning that Fatalis might not truly be dead. In Pokke Village, a giant black blade embedded in the ice is known to regenerate days after being mined once, which supports this claim that Fatalis is still alive. Other Fatalis weapons also seem to suggest that Fatalis is still alive in some form. Some weapons despair eat at the user's hands while other weapons, when held, have hideous abyssal screams coming from them. Some weapons even have a thirst for blood. From this, it is said that it's best to not to use any equipment from Fatalis in any form at all. Fatalis appear to be egg-layers, but thus far only one instance of a Fatalis hatching has been observed. The newborn was observed to grow at alarming rates, reaching its adult form in mere hours. Nothing else about their life cycle is known. Source; Monster Hunter Wikia - composite Fatalis ecology.

Imagine if that was the fatalis that was in the great dragon war instead of the original black one. White fatalis wouldnt need any other dragons by his side like the original. I have a theory regarding the mystery man, who throughout the MH series, gave us quests to hunt the strongest monsters. I believe the young man from this myth specifically who disappeared after giving his people the dragon scales, is the very same mystery man in scarlet red. The youth, blessed with immortality from the five dragons of creation, now wanders the world and observes the events of the MH timeline. He tests our resolve and our strength as to ensure the balance of the world never faulters as it did during the great Dragon War between the Ancient Civilization and the Monsters of old.

maybe fatalis now on days are very old ones, plus monster are being tracked regularly, the main reason we killed Xeno the moment it was born. Xeno could have been something worse if left alone, we never play in the timeline of the great war so we may never how strong they were. Maybe they had the technology but not a deep understanding of knowledge, the hunters now are power machines able to take down insanely power creatures. Ngl listening to this makes me think about how dark all our gameplays are in monster Hunter games as when we progress we start killing more and more to obtain stronger gear and for more items and as we progress we get full of pride and arrogance as we find the monsters before weaker and it fills us with greed to be stronger to beat something that’s stronger and this awakens fatalis yet again as a repeated ritual, a Hunter full of pride, greed and arrogance, forever destined to be locked in a cycle with fatalis to become the next and repeat the cycle with the next hunter foolish enough to act the same

While the Dragons of Monster Hunter World include highly intelligent beings that speak with humans, Fatalis has seen too much innocent life destroyed by Humans and Wyverians, and has serious PTSD. He also has seen that humans and wyverians that were once good noble beings either become the most evil beings, or are slaughtered by evil humans and wyverians in his day and age. Someone like Fatalis that sees a child will either A- kill the child to prevent it from becoming evil, B- kill the child to prevent it from facing horrific torment and death from his kinsmen in the future, C- experience a PTSD episode, and kill the child thinking it is an evil being. There is also the possibility of D- protecting the child... but this would likely only happen if the child is attacked by humans and/or wyverians… due to Fatalis's original nature as a protector and guardian of innocent life. Fatalis has become warped and twisted because of the evil actions of humans and wyverians. We are to blame for what Fatalis turned into, and we are at fault why we wage war against him. Currently, the original Fatalis cannot be slain in MHW lore, but you can slay Fatalis's descendants, who are very small in size compared to Fatalis, and yet these 'small' dragons are the same size as Xenojhiva. Fatalis is fucking huge. He used his tail and only his tail in a single strike to break the continent. We are screwed!!! I honestly hope they avoid putting Fatalis into any game until MHW hunters gain new weapons and technology, because Fatalis is a big friggin dragon known to be fast, destructive, and using numerous elements in Lore.

The sins of the father do not fall upon the son, but I don't think fatalis cares. These are the dragons that you find in fairy tales, the kind that causes harm and destruction for little reason. Those are worse than the hunters. Great dragon lay down your arms, lay down your hate. Those that committed the sin have long since perished and been judged, and time has moved. A force of malice you have become that which you despise. Who shall rise and make know to the great dragon his grave error?

Fatalis sucks ass. When we creative dragons like Nergigante and Gore Magala who have cool designs and awesome abilities to them it just makes Fatalis look uninspired seeing as he looks and acts just like a standard dragon we've seen a million times already. And the way the lore builds him up leaves you expecting more to him but there isn't. He's just another dime a dozen dragon. Woop dee freaking doo. Frankly, I put about as much stock in the lore side of MH as I do freaking Pokedex entries, just exaggerations to make the monsters seem more than they really are, Fatalis being the prime example.
