@@DerpyPossum ..Okay... ..I probably missed that part for some technical reason I guess....But during one of their earlier streams James was discussing that the THG team will consider adding the VR support once the ship is 100% done [ means the alpha version ]. .when someone asked about the availability of this feature via livechat...I understand this might be their recently taken discission & nothing's wrong in it....Let's see how exciting it goes in actuality... . 🙂

Very much looking forward to P401. Have been enjoying 2.0. Would love to see more cabins and closets become explorable. I'm the type of person who cares about the little things most people wouldn't. What was in those closets? What was in those chests? What was in those drawers? All of it. LOL I know there's a lot of extrapolative interpretation involved, which has to be mind numbing, and that is certainly welcome. Combining that with keeping details as accurate as possible has got to be a real challenge. I'm learning more, and more this project will be one which is slowly evolving as accurate details are gained from study of artifacts, and first hand accounts are made available to the dev teams. This is not a game with a deadline, but a learning tool which is being made available to us. I'm slowly learning this is the one project I must be patient with, as it grows. I greatly appreciate the enormous amount of effort being put into it.

I really really REALLY want to see the historic info markers from Demo 1 and Demo 2 make a return. The ones that told the different cabins of the passengers and different places that had facts and such like that. It'll make everything, literally EVERYTHING about the game/project come to life and have a whole deeper meaning, and massively more interesting! Hope this is small enough :)

A toggle for headbobbing and footsteps would be pretty cool. Head bobbing because personally sliding around feels off (and I walk through a doorway multiple times just because it feels more real)... and footstep sounds because it would add another sense to the different flooring materials. Excited to see more :)

One thing I'm really hoping to see in THG, and maybe even in Project 401 depending on how easily it can be implemented, is a proper day-night cycle.

I am planning to write my own Titanic Story about these two ten year old cousins who sailed on the Titanic and Survived the nightmare of the shipwreck with their own courage and witts and their broken friendship but with great cost obviously meaning their families from their parents and older siblings did not survive and the sinking of the Titanic brings the two cousins relationship more closer and helps them reconcile.

James - A really cool feature dawned on me while exploring the new demo. Since Titanic is indeed a ghost ship from another era, why not add passengers and crew, but in a simplified way, for the demo. They would be non-interactive semi-translucent 'spirits' strolling around, doing normal activities amongst themselves. They wouldn't have to be visible full time, maybe just fleeting glimpses. And they need not be scary. I think it would be awesome to encounter period dressed folks strolling about and it shouldn't be a monumental task to implement since they wouldn't be interactive and maybe seen only occasionally. Also, PLEASE turn down the super glossy extremely unrealistic looking wood textures. The wood most likely should have a satin finish, like in previous versions of the demo, as well as every other depiction of Titanic to date, except for the current 401. OUCH!!! Cheers from Thailand and thanks for creating such a masterpiece!

I’ve been loving the new demo! Can’t wait for new features and areas to explore. Any chance we’ll ever get to “fly” around the ship? Also, please explain the differences between Project 401 and THG. Still a bit confused on that.

@RobCrp ..The 'Project401' is the more detailed & refined version of the 'Demo401' which'll be released on Steam & have a few explorable new spaces on board alongside some other features. .such as the Sunset Mode & VR headset support... ..The 'Titanic: Honor&Glory will be the complete game project with an interactive virtual museum experience like never before. .added with the immersive 3D Sinking Mode, Story Mode, Characters, the fully recreated Harland&Wolfe Shipyard+Drydock & the Southampton dock with RMS Titanic berth-44 terminal. .from where a player will be able to board the legendary ocean liner, quite the way her passengers did in 1912. . .all set to happen in far future... . 🙂

I think pop up information at the different rooms that tell of the people who were in the rooms and whether they survived or not. Or who was in which lifeboat, etc. Perhaps where the Captain was seen last. A lot of people who will get the game are very interested in the history and will want to a lot of detailed information.

I think it's a great Demo - have great hopes for the final paid version. Fyi there is a typo though on a C Deck Lavatory Sign between cabins C76 & C126 - 'Gentelmen'...

I’d say the interior will be entirely rebuilt for THG, but 401 will be used as inspiration. 401 is still incredibly accurate, but THG will be even more accurate.

I had thought about something like the hidden packages from the older GTA games. That would be a fun mini achievement to unlock. It could be some sort of item. Maybe like find 40 mice. Or find 20 coins.

You should include a basic co-op experience in P401 so we have the option to explore the ship online with a friend & where we can choose between a male & female passenger character model adequately dressed in period attire so we can at least view one appropriate looking passenger strolling through the ship.

Demo 3 was pretty awesome. shame demo 401 isn't compatible with the steam deck Vulcan api driver. Hope there's an alpha release on steam soon

i really hope yall work on the overall movement of the player a little bit more. this project is absolutely amazing but i can barely get through 5 minutes of walking around before getting incredibly nauseous from motion sickness.

Project 401 will be a virtual interactive museum "only", it will be aviable in Steam anytime. THG will include the same escenario (obviously the Titanic) as well as few others like the docks of Belfast I think, and will be a proper videogame with it's own story mode, the sinking, etc.

SS stands for Steam Ship. But if you mean "why not RMS?" Because Titanic posters would have said SS. Not RMS. RMS is something that companies would have to earn and year by year they may lose their status. So Titanic may not ALWAYS be an RMS. So when making permanent things like ads and lifeboat plaques, they would use SS because she will always be a steam ship.

I had such high hopes for all of this... But, since they decided to partner with RMS Titanic Inc, I can't get behind them. Partnering with a company that evaded court orders, flaunts international laws and interests, and even Robert Ballard has said is highly disrespectful of the site just translates into a company that doesn't deserve the profile it gets. Good luck with your project. Hope it pans out better for you than the multiple companies who RMS Titanic Inc still has yet to pay to this day.

I think they partnered with that company for greater access to their archives, like footage and photos of the wreck, as they can be used to recreate areas the team might not know much about.

I think they said on stream that Project 401 will "definitely" not be out this year, so probably 2024. As for the Alpha, probably not until at least 2026.

You know how Titanic benefited from Olympic? Olympic has lead to multiple slip ups and delays in Titanics construction. We all know where that placed Titanic on the calendar. I hope your DUAL projects wont "benefit" from each other in a similar way.

Titanic would have been delayed regardless. Titanic also benefited from being assigned many of Olympic's senior & junior staff, who by then had several crossing's worth of experience with the same class vessel. Meaning things and tasks that had to be done to effectuate a orderly damage control and evacuation on and off Titanic, were done faster. Imagine if Titanic had had a 100% green (to the Olympic-class) crew 😱

@@ToreDL87 Perhaps if Olympics repairs did not occur, Titanic would never have been in the situation you have mentioned. There is no meaningful data showing Titanic would have been delayed if not for the times Olympic has detoured and deviated assets from Titanics construction. Olympic, not hampered by Titanic's adventures was finished on time and guess what, It was manned by 100% non "Olympic class" crew, with great success.

@@paulwalker2988 Yeah the repairs definitely played a role, I can get behind that. But the Olympic did well not just because she got hit "in the right place", but also because crew experience by that point had gone up considerably. I'm not saying nobody would have survived if Titanic's crew were all noobs, but it certainly contributed towards saving lives. Also, when I say "Olympic class", I mean the class of the ship, which was literally named Olympic.

They don't have to make it again. They'll make Project 401, then use it as the set/model for Titanic Honor and Glory. As for the demo, that's a practice space to work on how best to build digital props so they can do it easier and faster in Project 401/THG rather than getting hung up on bugs on the full project. Think of the demo as a rough draft.

@@mrrandom1265 Worse yet, from someone who may not have lost ancestors in the disaster (I said may, just in case). Yes, Titanic Inc has an ethically controversial background, chiefly when it goes for salvaging objects from the wreck, but at least they come out clean about their intentions, well before they act on them. And unlike either a French or Russian "expedition" (nobody knows for certain), they didn't steal the crows-nest from the mast either. The second controversy is economical, people not getting paid, etc. But their archives are the main take-away here, those are downright out'n out indispensable for THG/P401.
