Speaking of templates. Any other pros/cons of doing it the way in your video, as opposed to creating a new content type based off the "site page" content type and customizing that?

That's a great point MG. While content types are super useful, I don't believe there is functionality to build a custom page layout per content type. All of that layout customization is contained within the page template feature. Which isn't to say that you can't create a child content type of Site Page Template.

My issue is that I'd like these blog posts to be updated once I change the template. Is it possible?

Hi, Carol! Since site pages are free-form and no longer defined by layouts there really is no way to apply cascading changes to existing pages on a mass-scale. You can republish site pages and update news posts with new or corrected content without impacting the publish date, but you must do so manually. Every piece of content published in SharePoint is like a snapshot in time, so it's okay if your content evolves and looks different from when it did before. That being said, defining the standard components for your content types and deciding on page layouts ahead of time is a big help!

I want something like If I'm creating a news post, a copy of of this news post will be created in my different site by using a power automate flow. Can you please help?

You can do this with Power Automate, but I am not sure why you would want to do this over aggregating the news using the News Web part. Such that it will be accessible/promoted in the other site.
