You know, I love my lurkers. I love people lurking on my stream. But I have learned that if you *mute the stream* it DOESN'T count you as a viewer anymore! So, while I technically have someone talking in chat and 3 people lurking, it only says I have 1 Viewer because the lurkers ended up muting my stream. Nothing wrong with lurking to help someone out, hey, I do it a lot! I'm doing it right now! I have a stream open: I am not watching, but I have the stream *with volume* just at a minimum. To keep 'my view' there. Just had to rant about that a bit. DON'T MUTE STREAMS, people! Mute the tab, sure, but not the stream. You are hurting streamers with that...

My man, yours is the first "how to stream" content I've actually found meaningful, realistic, and useful. Every other creator I've found that makes these types of videos seem to skip a lot of things. After watching hours and hours of other people giving tips that assume every streamer gets 50 random in and out viewers every time they go live, I became exhausted. I get disheartened after trying for a year straight and making very little progress, but your tips are focused on the actual personal aspects of streaming and it's incredibly meaningful. You say motivation is "shit" but I gotta say, the information I've found in your videos has been INCREDIBLY meaningful and helpful to me. I'm just another streamer and I don't hold any expectations of greatness for my content. I've just always wanted to do it because I love gaming, I love talking to people, and I love being part of a community. And your content has helped remind me of that, and keep me grounded. Thank you for that!

Literally the reason why I started streaming, and what keeps me going: A friend streamed before me, he encouraged me to do what I've always wanted to do.. As I enjoy gaming. I wanted to share my gameplay, my experiences and general chit chat to those who pop in. I just lacked the self confidence and was worried I wouldn't be able to do it due to me having a young family. Yet, I started it. Now, Thanks to it, 95 followers, 5 subscribers, average viewers of between 5 and 9, and I've met a group of other streamers and we enjoy streaming as a group! It gives us such variety and social talks during our streams. I love doing it now! I'm still the quietest one out of the group but still growing and having fun! Still working on more solo content, but I've started certain series that I personally enjoy to help me Branch out in content specially towards those who are new to the series.

For me the motivation is an on/off kinda thing. I tend to suffer from depression and some days its worse than others. Sometimes I'll be all stoked to stream, but then near the scheduled time I'll be like "Do I really want to spend the energy and time re-arranging everything to set up, hang up the divider curtain, etc if no one's there anyway?" That's why I'm thinking of just streaming whenever for the time being instead of a schedule. If viewers arrive, then schedule around the day/time that worked.

I've been researching to become better with streams using some of the guides from yourself and others. Some of these things I've found I'm already doing but it never hurts to continue betterment of myself. I think at the moment I have 7 or so pages on the notes I've compiled from your videos alone. (This is excluding the other videos I've been watching.) I struggled for a long long time with liking my voice in general so watching my VODS at first was a bit tough, I found it was the only thing I wasn't doing, but was necessary for my continued growth. At least from my perspective I've found that I even find myself entertaining and even enjoy listening to myself on stream since I can go from chill to hype at the drop of a hat. While I still have a plethora of insecurities, I wanted to take the moment to thank you personally for your knowledge on streaming and trying to give others the tools to help themselves better their content. I'm still trying everyday to critically analyze my content to make my audio or my jokes or bits etc better and I'll continue to support you and your endeavors. I've yet to catch a stream of yours yet, but hopefully I will soon! Keep doing what you're doing and make sure to take breaks and stuff since from what I see you seem to also be a workaholic. Cheers and have a good day!

Hi! Really good video as always, but I do have a question; you've mentioned beforehand that it's better to stream fewer times a week and prepare better content for those few days, but you mentioned in this video that part of your success was the fact that you streamed nearly every single day for a year. Obviously, I understand that the more you stream the more you get pushed up by twitch, but there is an obvious issue of "my content needs to be good". I realize this is a really hard question to answer properly, but how would you recommend finding a good balance between streaming constantly, and having your content actually be good?
@Wilhelm92183 жыл бұрын
I feel this so much... streaming to 3-5 people gets taxing. I love doing it, but it's hard to sometimes find the time to do everything that goes along with wanting to be a professional streamer when I need another (or more than one..) full-time job to pay the bills, manage a house, and balance time with my family/husband/pets/etc...

I'll be recording myself as you suggested. It's a tried and true technique that I remember doing in college to prepare for public speaking. Thanks for another great video. 😁🤘🏻

Hello, great video, very helpful. Also I have a question : do I have to schedule my streams like « Friday = Zelda, Saturday = Animal Crossing », or can I stream every Friday and Saturday (for example) but each weeks the game played change ? Which is the most recommended ? Because Im afraid if I stream every weeks the same game that my audience get bored.
@StreamScheme3 жыл бұрын
This is a tough one because I don't know your audience! BUT Are you seeing much Growth by doing something different each night of the week? How many of your followers from night 1 come back night 2 for something different and stick around/chat? Answering these questions is how you tell if what you are doing is working or not, if you are then you can continue but if most people aren't coming back you might want to consider being more consistent in the way you choose games. BUT, hey everyone is different! Good luck! Just my thoughts and what I noticed for myself when I streamed different stuff every night vs being consistent. Hope the content helps!

Self role playing is a big hurdle for many people. I encourage my sales team to do regularly.
@StreamScheme3 жыл бұрын
In regards to the filming 10 minutes topic?
@CamBeulGaming3 жыл бұрын
@@StreamScheme absolutely! The ability to be comfortable with your own voice is actually fairly nuanced and rare in most professional adults; let alone in a young streamer who is still finding themselves. When screening sales candidates for hire it one of my signs I looks for in someone to actually be successful in a sales position. Streaming, is more sales related than most let on. Roleplaying and self dialogue really help cultivate self awareness with your tone, inflections, and even nonverbal communication. When done in a mirror or recorded with video or audio you can then personally review it. Then learn to highlight what you like and to note what you need to change or adjust.

As a former partner manager, we used to tell other people in the space when there were crappy people reaching out for sponsorship. I remember sitting in a bar for PAXEast, making fun of each others worst "sponsorship request".

Thank you for the video eljay :) Cutting down on the days I go live actually really helped me lock down a schedule and also plan for each stream. I gotta thank you for that tip! And I guess if my mum thinks I'm possessed at 3am talking to myself I guess I'll have to pin it on you.

Hey there, Love the content guys, been really helpful and useful content for people like me trying to get started. Could you make a video of you setting up and entirely new channel from scratch, showing you importing overlays, setting up and troubleshooting common issues in OBS and setting up some basic modding? These are the issues I've encountered whilst trying to get my stream setup and looking professional. Apologies if you've already covered this in a video or across multiple. Keep it up!
