"There are women going on 23 and 24 without anyone asking them [to marry them]" How times have changed.
@davidweston91153 жыл бұрын
in the old days, a woman over 25 was finished. 23 or 24 was pushing it because you still needed some months to get to know the guy etc. before he'd ask or you'd know if you should accept. If he wanted 3 kids, that puts you at still having babies at 30, giving 1 year before the first and 2 years between each. It wasn't such a bad system, given the kids won't leave house until you are almost 50 and then you'd have some time left to join knitting circles and ladies clubs, etc. My dad sired me when he was 40 and died when I was 43 and it was very hard watching him die, plus I spend his last 15 years taking care of him, so my years of 28-43 were not available for finding a wife and making a family. Now it's too late if I don't want to repeat the problem again. In high school I loved how my dad was in his 60s but I wasn't thinking what that meant. I worshipped him and when he died the earth stopped. Imagine I could have already married and raised my kids and had them in college by the time I was 43, rather than remaining just a son. I wouldn't have done it though, unless my dad was 20 years younger.

And don't set any hard rules, such as "I won't support any kid who does drugs." This leads to a kid having nobody to go to in the worst time. You won't find out until it's way too late. Perhaps picking him up at jail and they bring him out in a wheelchair because he can't walk. you should say, don't do drugs, and if something bad happens and you do them, come straight to me on the first day and I'll help you. That way instead of a 7 year junkie you have a kid who still has a good chance.

Sad movie, but good to see the correct way to categorize the crime of the defendant as “evil”. One day everyone will wonder how in the world we could have murdered our unborn children just like now we wonder how anyone could have owned slaves. Just because it’s “legal” doesn’t mean it’s right or moral.

If this day comes, I hope it will be because the environment for a woman having an unwanted pregnancy will be completely friendly, helpful morally and economically, non jugemental and with men taking their responsibilities before and after. Whilst not, abortion must be a a possible personal choice until 12 weeks, with good medical conditions which was not the case in this film.

Not everyone practices Judaism, dear.
@joyceobeys68183 жыл бұрын
@@margaretmeehan9044 I should have explained better. I’m truly not into Judaism. I think I didn’t want to write it all out cuz I wasn’t focusing on the Bible truth but what is brought about in a relationship if the man is a true circumcised heart Torah keeper. My husband and I are believers in Messiah. He didn’t change the gospel, but the good news is that He came to accomplish the spring Holy days and will accomplish the rest of them likely judgment day. They are His plan of salvation and marriage covenant to His bride. In 1 Corinthians 10 shows that those in the wilderness rejected the Messiah Who was the Angel of the Lord/King YHWH. He has never changed and has always been around. When He was born flesh, He told them that they erred in the scripture, not knowing the scripture. Which scripture were they supposed to have known ? They only had the OT. In Acts 21 Paul and 4 men are taking a nazarite vow and the offerings include animal sacrifice. This was to prove He was obeying the Torah. And when Paul came back for the Holy Days also in Acts 18 He took a nazarite vow. In Acts 21. The word WEEK in verse 7 is plural Sabbaths. They are counting the 7 sabbaths of Lev 23 from unleavened bread to Pentecost. In Zachariah 14 we are doing animal sacrifice and the Holy Days in the 1000 year reign. The Animal sacrifice did not end because the temple was burnt in 70AD. The Sacrificing’s were outlawed in the 300’s by Constantine. They never needed a temple, only an alter. The Messiah repeated from the OT. And all through the entire Bible and in the OT He said He wanted a circumcised heart and he never wanted any kind of sacrificing. He wanted thankfulness and the fruits of the spirit, in the OT. And in case you are a believer, look up sorcery (drug pharmaceuticals) in Revelation 9 and 18. We must repent and be made complete perfectness and whole whose minds are constantly on Him(YaH). There’s no rapture, it’s judgment day when we go up in the clouds. Look at 2 Peter 3. The believers will be martyred like the prophets and disciples and most people are not ready for this because they haven’t truly repented. They did not bring forth clean alters for His sacrifice. Fruit of repentance! Then go and sin not more or your sin remains. A Torah keeping husband is one they believes in honoring one wife and the Crestor of the World, takes the Job eye covenant and fears YaH and imitates messiah. I have this. I’m truly blessed! But only a righteous woman can find such a man. Much Ahabah!

You would know this if you actually read the Bible more than once and didn't cherry pick verses, assuming you don't read the Bible on a regular basis. Early example of right wing Christian thinking. It's similar in absurdity to Reefer Madness. The underlying message here being that premarital sex leads to death, "murder," and medical trauma followed by a lifetime filled with regret. It's of time when the stigma was much different (in perception) than it is today, and information far less available. Fortunately we've progressed as much of society has moved away from the notion that Christian dogma is the basis for morality and ethics.

There is a wonderful book that was published in 2006 called The Girls Who Went Away by Ann Fessler. It chronicles young women who had out of wedlock pregnancies between the end of WWII and the Roe v Wade decision in 1973. The social stigma and shaming these girls experienced was staggering. Almost impossible to imagine now, but a girl's life could literally be ruined if she had a child out of wedlock. She'd get expelled from school; would probably be fired from her job if she had one; if the boy couldn't or wouldn't marry her, where could she turn for help? There weren't too many social safety nets back then and even if the parents were willing to help, the girl's reputation would be tarnished and she'd always be thought of as "damaged goods" - the messages she'd be given were "no good man will want to marry you" and "no good man will want to raise another man's child". Hence so many girls were sent, in secrecy, to maternity homes where the majority were basically coerced into giving their babies up for (closed) adoptions . . . OR they had back-alley abortions. Birth control was difficult to obtain (even condoms weren't so easy to obtain discreetly) - so so many kids just went without. This film doesn't go in to any of this, so to modern audiences it may be hard to grasp why the girl felt she had no choice but to seek an abortion since she couldn't get married.

My aunt had one of those coat hanger jobs in the 60s and she says god punished her. She couldn't have kids ever again. She says because she killed the one god gave her, he won't give anymore. Everytime she tried again she miscarried. Many many times before she gave up. I think those coat hanger jobs are just so crude, they damage important parts in there. I wouldn't take a coat hanger to a car engine let alone the insides of a girl. What a shame. I guess having the kid was just too inconvenient. Society would have judged her. Better to kill than to be judged negatively by others.
