I have to agree with Mike Neeves, the guy has years of testing and racing bikes. The Street Triple has no vices, it's the most refined bike I've ever ridden, absolutely smooth under all conditions.

I really really like how Kawasaki lets the Z800 present itself! Even though its a Naked bike, you can tell they really thought the presentation of the bike through! With its Gorgeous Motor sitting there like its sitting in a picture frame all nice and clean and on purpose! To me personally, the Z800 is definitely the best looking of them all!! Second would be Street Triple, Third... MV Agusta,

Test rode the MT-09 earlier today and all I can say is what an amazing bike! Of course I'm a bit biased by not having ridden any of the others (the only other "big" bike I've ridden is XJ6) but MT-09 just felt natural from the moment I got on. The torque is insane at all speeds and in all gears, handling is nimble for someone inexperienced like me, brakes are good, suspension is just right. But like I said, I'm probably biased after having put down a deposit for one :)

maximus10463yes and no .. the build quality is really bad and it'S not only the rear suspension but the front forks that need to be changed .. in america it's not available with any kind of electronics .. it's the cheapest of the bunch but you get what you pay for .. if you want to make it on par with a street triple it will cost you the same in the end..
@igbatious9 жыл бұрын
twitchy throttle on the mt-09 (fz-09 here in the states) has been worked out through new ecu mapping, but yes the suspension is utter garbage. pretty easy to remedy by swapping rear shock (done cheap by repurposing from older sportbikes) and front forks with revalve / spring kits. here in the states the price difference between mt-09 (fz-09) and street triple is NOT £200, but $4200. so in the US, the fz-09 is still a better buy, even having to spend the extra on suspension mods. if you're in the uk, however, the street triple would be a better buy.

The others are trying to be both Motard and Street Fighter. Triumph got the Formula right the first time.

Kip Kipper I love that motard riding position! Currently riding a MT03 one cylinder, with is a girly bike but because of its amazing torque in the lower gearing range and the motard position i wheelie it like a mad man, highway wheelies, 12 o' clock, trowing my leg over the steering wheel that position is amazing! I am really looking forward to buying an MT09, for that little extra power i now miss, and i'm glad it has that motardish position. Bike feels AMAZING light by the way so it does also feel like one!

Exactly.. Triumph just doesn't have quite the production capacity Honda / Suzuki / Yamaha etc have. So naturally if they don't put out as many, you won't see as many. But owning a Triumph Daytona 675R myself I can tell you (in my own personal option) it is the better motorcycle than others in its class. Better handling, build quality and overall performance (yes, a gsxr 750 will beat it in a straight line..) I have had a Japanese sport bike before the Triumph and they are great bikes but I just felt the Triumph was a notch above them. More mature and "classy" somehow.

I own a MT-09 and since we're talking about stock bike of course, I agree with the conclusion. I never had the chance to test a Z800 and also I don't like it so I never put it into my possible choice rack which was composed basically by Speed Triple 2010, Street Triple 2013 and Mt-09. I discarded the Speed Triple because it's too heavy and too powerful for me so the real heat has been between Mt and ST. I ended up on the MT-09 because it looks better for me, even if it feels al little cheap compared with the ST and also I loved the riding stand from the first second and the half-way bike philosophy. At the end, I recognize that the suspension are almost crap and someone can argue about the On-off of the gas but with the 2000€ I saved to buy It, I will change the suspension with a MUPO kit and I think it becomes the best bike of the set.

I kinda wish I had the ability to own any one of these bikes other than an MT-09. It's the one I'm getting. Living in the US, Triumph doesn't have the dealer network needed to compete here, the Z800 isn't available here (only Z1000), and the MV is... well, expensive and has a dealer network so small it's not even worth mentioning. It's nice to see a real comparison and see where it stands, but at the end of the day for many of us it's still the only option.

I test rode an MT-09 a few days ago. It's very powerful, pulls like a train. Apart from this my street triple R is better in every other regard. Is it your opinion that the brakes on the MT-09 would be greatly improved simply with SS brake lines? Also how much time was spent on tuning suspension between the bikes? Or are they all factory set? Just purchased a 2013 Brutale 800 in the UK in 2019... despite what this review says, I dare you to go and ride one. In the words of Jeremy Clarkson, a vehicle needs floors/imperfection for you to love it like you would a human (no one is perfect). To me, that’s what my MV is. Makes me very excited every time I ride it and I can’t stop looking back at it when I get off. I know it’s less reliable and parts take forever to come but somehow I don’t care. I can’t say I’d be like this with the other bikes... subjective of course though and I appreciate that. I do feel however that this upload gives the Brutale a hard time.

The torque is all that it has got in the Yamaha looks cheap and it's a shame wish they gave it more it would be even better imagine better brakes better suspensions and more fined looks would make it win. Even the weighty z800 feels lighter when it goes you don't feel the weight and has great chassis when it moving shame it has that much weight but still better then mt09. Triple is quality fact!!

Ok I know this video was some years ago, but I just got a used 2013 Triumph Street triple S. She only had 1800 miles on it and never been in the rain. I love this bike, it's incredible and so fun to ride. It's my first street bike but I know a good bike when I sit on it. I have road dirt all my life and love dirt riding I have a 2018 KTM 500 exc-f. I'm starting to get used to the feel of the Trumph it is surprisingly different than a dirt our dual sport bike. I think it's still the best out there in terms of rideability and quality of build. I have thought about the 2020 Triumph but DAM my bike rides so sweet. I have thought about changing up the front sprocket and drop it a tooth. Just to give it a little more torque on the bottom end, okay make it a little easier to get a front wheel up. LoL from Freddy in North Carolina cheers and Merry Christmas.

Actually I loved both but the new insurance rating which made the Yamaha 4 times more expensive than my current zx6r and 7 times more expensive than the triumph has sealed it's fate. Great deal but in the long run its just too expensive for the running costs, it's cheaper to insure a Ducati...

Alex Martin Gosh where do you live Alex? So your choice is the Triumph then? I hope it isn't to harsh over here in Belgium haha. I am buying the Triumph next year. Ilias Joels Resale isn't a problem here in the USA and the triumphs hold their value pretty well. Snatchy throttle is sorted out with the $100 O2 sensor mod and suspension fixed by swapping the ZX10R shock ($250) which is a straight fit. I've added drop bars to mine and it's unreal on the track

Definitely. Beating the street triple at its own game on the first go, with a lower pricetag is a tall order. I doubt that was even Yamaha's goal. It seems their focus was on the engine first and then putting something out that could compete with the striple at a lower pricepoint, which they have achieved and lots of people are picking them up. It will only get better as they sort out the kinks so watch out Triumph.

One Brothers Productions Where I live, comparing an Mt09 to a street triple is like comparing an 8500€ bike to an 8600€ one. Yes, I wrote that correctly, 100€ difference. So this review is just what it is, comparing motorcycles regardless of their price.

Im in the US and have the FZ09 and did 145MPH. also Disagree with the throttle being jerky. The only thing is yes suspension is soft but lets face it you are driving on the road 95% of the time and its the best suspension you can have for that. Comfortable and not stiff. Unless you are a track person. So the winner is the FZ09 . I have ridden all these bikes and ehhhhhhh. Triumph is a great bike but needs a little more power to keep the fun or 675CC vs 850CC... Also the three modes make it more versatile and gives it personality. Also the price sais it all

I'm at 4:30 and the fz09 just got 3rd. Fair enough. Why do I think the Triumph will take first place.....? 🤔

Then why does every magazine hype up the MT-09 like its amazing? Every time I open a mag all's I see are rave reviews on how good this bike is. I looked at one at the dealers when it first came out. The instrument section looks cheep, small and non-existent

fz09 has a modern radial mount calipers which also make it a better value than the triumph

I bought an mt 09 3 weeks ago and I've done 800 miles already, no probs with throttle also hit 125mph in 4th today so don't think it's limited to 130? Test rode a 675 st and though it didn't have enough go in it plus I never liked the salesman in triumph seemed patronising ang he smoked whilst showing me bike which gave me the hump! I am English so not a Brit bashing yank! But 675 not for me

What about benelli TNT 899?
@krajpathak9 жыл бұрын
dude benelli is out of buisness in whole of europe and us. Indians think it is an italian brand but it is just really a chinese make with italian brand. that is how they manage it cheap.

English review - Triumph wins, what a surprise. And yes, I'm a Triumph rider myself, had a Tiger, now have a Striple.

+morningbetterlast Well, the Triple is a pretty damn good bike. Great torque and power for a 675, great handling, looks good. Maybe the Kawa should've won it here, but it would've been close.

the street triple is a amazing bike, like many people say it is the best all around bike out there regardless of price, especially if you use the street triple r

i am a fan of the fz 09, but a street triple is more of a complete package
