Floob lol you didnt have to make a list because those are basicaly all the games made for the CPS-3 ever, the three street fighters III, the two versions Jojo and Red earth, there arent any more games made for the CPS-3 board.

Awesome! A 2017 update: with the "rewind" feature on newer versions of recalbox this game plays very slow and with sound issues, so just disable rewind for fba libretro and enjoy

I have copy the neogeo.zip into both rom folder. when selecting the game i press M and try a different emulator. I am going to start from 0 again. wipe it all and try again. There will always be input lag in emulation. There may also possibly be glitches that rarely happen. But this looks fairly accurate so far.

Antonello Basile Put the ROMs into the fba folder. Chose a game and, as it's loading the ROM, right when the screen turns black press a key on your keyboard or button 0 on your controller to enter Fire Burn Alpha config menu. In this menu you can chose to run ROMs using the PiFBA or fba-libretro core as default. For CPS3 games like SFIII you'll want to use the fba-libretro core.

This is not a Neogeo title so you do not need the neogeo bios file. What I did was put all 6 zip files in roms/ arcade folder. Upon launching press any button to bring up the config menu. Press down once to change emulator core for said rom. Select lr-fba, Go down to launch rom.

+Ryan Thompson I had the same issue, and the reason I felt compelled to reply was because its so frustrating when these issues come up and nobody can explain, haha. I wound up downloading every single file from the website that was linked in the description, meaning I got all 6 .zip files. I then placed all of the files as .zip's in my retropie/roms/fba folder through the SSH client I use (I am on mac, so i use Cyberduck). I then tried all of them until one of them wound up working for me. I dont really know why, but only one works, sfiii3nr1.zip, and it will only work if i also have sfiii3.zip with it. A friend of mine tried this and he got it to work needing only one of the files, so go figure... Anyways, try placing all 6 .zip files in the folder and then go to FBA on the emulator and try them all until one works. Then try combinations if you care to, so you don't have to see a bunch of the same looking rom on the emulator (so its easier to remember which one works). also be sure that you have the neogeo.zip file in your fba folder (i put one in my bios folder as well), and that it is the correct neogeo.zip file (unzip it and make sure it matches with the one that is mentioned on the retropie setup page on the blog)

Quick question - I have one of those Playjam GameSticks (gamestick.tv/) which I've rooted and use as a portable XBMC setup now for when I'm on the road in hotels etc. I'm wondering whether you know if it'd be possible to run any RetroPie/Emulation Station type software like RetroArch (as it's compatible with Android) and, if so, whether you'd be able to do any videos on this? Or are you primarily focusing on Raspberry Pi at the moment?

Jon Turner I think best bet for something like this would be to install the individual emulators, I know it is not as nice to look at but the Android emulators, like play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=paulscode.android.mupen64plus.free&hl=en for example will run games a lot better then the retroarch core emulators, plus they are a lot more user friendly for things like controls!

Anyone have updated instructions? now I put all 6 .zips in arcade, and try to run each of them with lb-fbalpha but every time. they kick me out. the closest I've gotten is with MAME 2010 on one of the NO CD versions, and it says "load complete" and sitting at that screen until I quit back to emulation station. I feel like I'm doing something wrong, but this video is so vague about what to do that it raises more question than it answers.

+Toysilog RetroPie 3.5 or 3.6 dont have a folder like this anymore, they combined it all into the FBA folder. The problem is the emulator he is using is no longer available, I am looking into this now though and I will get back with you if I find anything sweet

Yes, you need all six files. Don't unzip them, just drop the six files into your fba-libretro folder. I don't think the neogeo bios is needed for this game, but if it is, just Google neogeo.zip.

hi gehena540 I tried this as well on beta 2 yesterday and it was a little laggy as well, must still be some bugs to work out. What I found did sort of fix it was updating binaries (see here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qpzEl4mphZd-q5I) after I did this sometimes it worked well, other times it was laggy. Quite strange. Anyway, unless you go back to 2.6 we will just have to be patient until this is fixed.

Are you getting the little rainbow low-voltage warning in the upper right corner? Did you get a new power supply when you upgraded to the Pi 3? Edit: I see you asked about PSU issues already. I use the PSU from Adafruit (5V 2.4A) with 0 issues on the Pi 3.

NickelCityPixels I had it running on my Pi 2 w/ a 5V 2.0A PSU beautifully. Then I upgraded to a Pi 3 using the same 2.0A PSU, installed a fresh image of RetroPie, and SF3 ran like garbage with tons of slowdown. I couldn't figure out why, but I tried upgrading my PSU to the one I linked (5V 2.4A) and that fixed my problem completely. Now SF3 runs with absolutely no issues on my Pi 3. I was hoping that would fix your issue as well, but if you've got the same hardware it must be something else. I wonder if it could be high heat causing your Pi 3 to throttle back? Do you use a heatsink and fan on your Pi 3? Which emulator core are you using to run SF3? I've tried both lb-fba and lb-fba-next and they seem to work perfectly, but I haven't tried any of the other emulators.

Extract the file you downloaded from the link in the description, and then copy all of those zip files to fba-libretro on your Pi (no need to extract all the individual files), so you have the following files in the fba-libretro directory: neogeo.zip sfiii3.zip sfiii3n..zip etc etc. Let me know how you go!

Guys, I figured something out to clean out the fba-libretro ES menu so you don't have six entries for Street Fighter III (or other games for that matter). I tried it out and it works. Go to your es_systems.cfg file, search for fba-libretro and delete .ZIP in the extensions (all capitals .ZIP, leave .zip as is). Now go to your fba-libretro roms folder and change the extensions of all the Street Fighter III files from .zip to .ZIP (change it with "mv" command... e.g.: "mv sfiii3n.zip sfiii3n.ZIP" without the quotation marks). Do this for all files except for sfiii3.zip. Go back to Emulationstation and into your fba-libretro menu and you should only have one entry in there. sfiii3.zip is the file that worked for me. If it doesn't work for you, try with a different file until you find one that works.

Also, I tried this with neogeo.zip in order to hide the bios in the menus, but no such luck. neogeo.zip needs to be lowercase. Another option would be to change all the game .zip extensions to .ZIP and removing .zip in the extensions in es_systems.cfg.

Hey this is awesome but... Im having trouble getting the game to work. I downloaded all the six files from the french website. i then extracted all the content from each zip into one zip archive. Using winSCP i put the new archive i made into the rom folder of FBA. Third strike showed up on my game list. when trying to load the game it said rom was not supported. Heya guys.... TechTipsta, your the bomb, buddy!!!! Just wanted to point out a small issue I'm having, though very very minor so sorry about that. Basically, the character Urien in Street Fighter 3: Giant Attack is being displayed with corrupt graphics... Is everyone else having this issue? Thanks in advance.....

I got this working on the 3.8.1 build on a RP3. I put the rom in the "Arcade" rom folder and it runs just like the video.

I had problems getting running on rpi 3.8.1.. I was trying all the MAME options and FBA

I got the rom form the link in the video info. Put it in the "Arcade" rom folder rather than mame or FBA folder.

get the cps3 files and put them in fba .extract them first.it should work.If not let me look at mine and I will get back with you let me know.

Ok,it can be tricky don't give up.are you sure you have all the game files.It usually at least 6 or 7 different versions of the game.Check in the /opt/emulator sec.for the exact games you need.Use wsp.The game s are kinda coded together so one won't run without the other.I have 7 copy's in mine so it will run.You also need to make sure your putting the right bios in.I personally used a uni.bios file.You find it at your local blue screen airedice.(get it?)You may also have to copy the actual cps1,2,3 and into the fbalib.If you don't get it let me know and I will copy my info as a repository on github.Then you can read what I have for yourself.100 percent sure it works.....

+Sanchees3 Are you using a power supply that is made for the raspberry pi? I was using an old iPhone charger that claimed to have the right voltage and amps but I consistently had the colored square at the top corner, and games like this would lag enough to not want to play them. Finally i spent 5 bucks on a raspberry pi power supply from amazon and now Third Strike runs very smoothly.

Mike Lewis No I was using an old phone charger with a random MicroUSB cable I had. Sadly my MicroSD card got corrupted from flashing RetroPie Jessie Beta :( But yes I found out that the speed of the game was affected by the Pi's PSU. Thanks for replying though !
