To drill "half a hole", clamp another piece on top of the piece with the existing hole, centre punch & drill through. The hole in the top piece acts to guide the drill bit through the half hole.

@Jennie: For like $3 you can get a set of center drills. Buy him a set as a Xmas stocking stuffer. I promise you his mechanical world will change because he can use a small one to get a hole going then the regular bit will work to open it up properly w/o walking. Miss you guys, great to see you both lighting up our friday nights!

Wow. Your electrical work looks OEM. That plug kit is nice and you're really good with the crimper. I found your channel back with the generator rebuilds and have watched all your videos since. Even checked out some of the old camper videos. I hope you know that so many people like me look forward to your videos. I know the editing takes a lot of time and dedication. Finding time to do these projects, film and edit these videos when life goes on around you can't be easy. I know I get way too little done on my projects and I don't document that stuff for anyone. Don't be too hard on yourself for your upload schedule. Even though I'm sure I speak for everyone that I'd like more videos, the scarcity of them makes it that more special.

I felt the pain and fancy feelings of having a kill switch that worked when you meant it to. But it didn't leave me with a fancy feeling for long -> because it was such a rare occasion and all, I never remembered that I used the kill switch when I tried restarting the bike. Everyone felt the pain as we took turns kicking, then trying to push start, pull filters and carb, then go over fuel and tank... all to end with someone strolling by and pointing out the kill switch.

It's totally worth having a few standard size, two flute end mills for this kind of hole moving in a drill press (if you don't also happen to have a milling machine). They can plunge cut quite well next to existing holes without wandering. You can get a cheap set of six for around $20. Or you can get a really nice set of the same mills for $150+. A decent set that will last a while can be had for $40-50. Might seem like a lot, but they work great for this kind of hole moving, and are also designed to take side loads if you want to do it that way, (although the drill chuck still isn't mean to take side loads.)

the algorithm rudely kept this video from me, im so happy i get to catch up now. those plugs are pretty fine but they arent weather proofed! you can get bulk cheap automotive plugs with weather seals that are crimped the exact same way with a rolling crimper, if you are feeling fancy and have an excess of money one day.

Excellent video once again. I'm pressed with the tidyness this project is developing. Its going to look factory, apart from the multicoloured wiring. Not a bad thing, it's just not black. Great work again you two.

Another unorthodox option to use in the future with the drill press , is to use an end mill and move the hole down that way and it wont flex.
@jlucasound2 жыл бұрын
It can work. If you clamped it really tight to the table and you go slow, it is, yes, an unorthodox simulation of a milling operation. Plunge milling.
