Street photography simplified ! Good to hear the techniques and thought processes. You make me feel as if I can go out and get such lovely images ! They are all so perfectly balanced and I love the lady with the straw boater. Thanks

The ones that I liked the most are the old lady on the rock, the old and new buildings with the bird, and the lady in the hat. They were the most original and interesting to me. The lady in the red gate is nice, but it was more predicatble.

Thanks, John. Really interesting to see which images everyone pick 👍

My fav is image 4 (look for contrast) . Actually I have been to this place. but didn't get a good picture 😂. at that time i didn't see much interesting things here. after watching this video i might be able to make a better and more interesting pictures in any place. 🙏

What focal lengths did you use? How did that impact your choice of framing. It seems you used a longer lens (not 35 or 50) correct?
@SeanGallagherPhotographer25 күн бұрын
Hi Richard. On this day I was using a 24-105mm Canon lens which is quite a big zoom for me. Normally I like to work with primes, ideally a 35mm, as it eliminates the extra time you need to pick the appropriate focal length . No matter what lens I am using, I try to react instinctually in the moment and frame according to the scene in front of me. So if I am using a zoom, I will pick what I think is the most appropriate focal length for what I see in front of me and then wait for the moment to appear in the frame to make the picture.

I can generate reasons for all of these images and attribute moods to them. So, they're not, for me, just irrelevant snaps - which a lot of 'Street' looks like to me. The first two don't particularly resonate, but the other four do - and quite strongly in the instances of three and four which have a certain dignity and poignancy. The sixth i think is very amusing... i just wish you had shown us the next frame where she tips the drink on her head (or is she communicating with the folly in the background by mimicking its form?). These four images all have a geometrical aspect i like - the triangles formed by each of the victim's arms - and the DR and colours of the last three really appeal. I'm also partial to incidental birds - little Easter Eggs in a frame - but i strongly suspect it was the same bird just keeping you under surveillance. Interesting to have you break them down and the 'rewind' format worked for me. Caveat - street and people aren't my thing, but i get the relevance. Best wishes from New Zealand. Cheers.

Thanks for your in-depth analysis! That's the beauty of photography that different images speak to different people. "i strongly suspect it was the same bird just keeping you under surveillance" That made me smile 🐦

@@SeanGallagherPhotographer I'm really curious to listen how first two images speaks to you. I really want to know. Btween my favmourite image is fifth. Fourth also i like.
@SeanGallagherPhotographerАй бұрын
@@mahidoes Well, the beauty of photography (and other forms of art) is that every photograph speaks differently to different people. I like the first image because of the interesting moment and the lighting. The second image works for me as there is a balance and surprising relationship between the smiling woman and the smiling lion. But again, this is my feeling. They may be my photos, but their interpretation is up to you too 🙂

@@SeanGallagherPhotographer Thank you very much for your reply. Specially in second image i benifited from what you say which i failed to see previously! Personally i feel if the DOF is more deep it would have made more impact. But again just my opinon.

I’m sorry. I like the idea of this type of instruction, but, like the first commenter, I don’t think the photos are special. Minimal layering, just ok moments, fine but not at all extraordinary composition.
@SeanGallagherPhotographerАй бұрын
Interesting feedback. I didn't claim these images were "extraordinary". Just showing what's possible to the everyday photographer how to improve their images.
@bearllande7 күн бұрын
don't see anything special about these pics. it looks like some random pics any person would take and some of them look very out of focus like image 1 and 6. messy composition no idea what the pic if suppose to be featuring. i thought the point of these instructional videos was teaching how to take better pictures? isn't creating an interesting pic out of a boring scene the point? but these are just a bunch of boring pics of boring scenes... this takes 0 skill, it's what any random person is already doing lol.
