This reminds me, I need to put the dust pan back in the truck. I always carry a broom now - ever since I dropped an oven and shattered the glass door. What a mess 😂 LOL - "ubiquitous" I'm surprised google doesn't use, " ubiquitous wire shelving " as an example 🤣

Those pedestals sell for 20 to 60 on marketplace. Upwards of 300 sometimes more new. Each! Washer and dryer. That blower I almost guarantee can be mixed by your mower guy. Anything orange is usually stihl, worth repairing . I'd ask for 10 on stihls though, because resell higher. Something to think about. Plenty meat left for him still.

When I did scrapping years ago Paul I usually drug more out than in at the scrap yard. I resold most of it all I found. I see big ticket items in most of your videos at the the yard. Even a working microwave is $20 bucks on a yard sale site. Clean that stuff and sell it. I made a good living doing it. I had a lady ask me if I would travel 45 min away to a bus. It was all aluminum. All of it but the motor. I rented a chop saw and me and 3 others cut it up. We made serious $$$ as alumnium was 70 cents a pound then. I miss scrapping. I watch your videos to see what you find. I miss that.

About 34 years ago I started a scrapping company and made about $150 per day, but I "scrapped" the business when I started a service corporation 30 years ago. I loved doing scrapping, I loved repurposing and fixing and giving away stuff... And giving plastic cars to the little kids in my church... Loved it it. My wife just said to me "Well, go out there and do it again!" I'm an old fart now... So... Maybe so and maybe no. We'll see.

I think the drawers under my washer and dryer were 400.00 each. But I’ve had mine for a while now, so I guess we got mine when they first came out. Much easier to load and unload from a wheelchair when they are on the pedestals. Stay safe and God Bless. Just think, maybe your prayer saved the lady that ran the stop sign.

Somebody even threw out the kitchen sink! I've heard the saying 'everything but the kitchen sink'. That was everything AND the kitchen sink. I'm happy you were in the scrap yard at the time the big dump truck was there. That was SO interesting. If that guy's been in the scrap business since he was a teenager, he has to have found a way to make it pay (unless he has another job). I'm betting it has something to do with having developed a network of contractors and tradesmen who regularly toss appliances and heavy metal such as industrial shelving, building air conditioners, compressors, etc. He'd have to have a way of getting heavy items into his truck, possibly a forklift, or access to one at the pick-up site. Good for him!

"Weigh-out, pay-out, pray-out" You aren't taking lessons from that truck guy are you? Kind of dangerous backing over the scrap like that. But it was fun and funny. The best part of the video was the end with the lady stop sign runner. "Did she just run that stop sign while I was praying about being careful?...Oh I give up." Sorry, but that was classic exasperation! Great video Paul. Please keep praying for us--including the lady that runs stop signs!

Here’s a thought, Paul if washing machine was put upside down on the street. It would be upside right in your truck. What do you think of that? Refrigerators would load easier if you lay them down on their side and then on their top and then lift them up right and you wouldn’t be lifting so much, but now you’ve got the red truck with the liftgate so life is easier, hey hey!

@billcarver65393 жыл бұрын
I picked up about 30 grills through out this past summer, its amazing how many just need new grates or just a battery for the sparker button. Its like people have no clue how to fix something so simple. Even other things like a nice lawn mower, just needed a spark plug, or a decent chainsaw that needed a new chain. I did good on the garage sale this fall with things that are to good to scrap.
