Street takeovers leave burning vehicles in South Los Angeles

A pair of street takeovers left burning cars on the streets of South Los Angeles Monday morning.
One street takeover shut down intersections at Manchester Avenue and Avalon Boulevard and at Florence and Normandie avenues, and another did the same at South Figueroa Street and Jefferson Boulevard in University Park.

They wouldn't be able to race on the track with a vehicle not registered in their name anyway. Money isn't enough when going on a track, you need to show proof of ownership, your license and supporting documentation and sign a waiver follow guidelines, etc. The vehicle must also meet certain requirements like no leaks etc.

Problem with these dip sticks going to Irwindale. They don't want to wait in line or pay $40. Which I've been there to spectate. The lines go by quickly... unless someone has either ran their AC prior to staging. Or a racer had a mechanical issue such as coolant leak, blown engine leaking oil... etc etc. Not to mention these dip sticks like the thrill and knowing no one will catch them.
