2 Month Ownership Update of my 2023 Lexus LX600 F Sport!

It’s been a loooooong 2 months, but I made it! I’ve owned my 2023 Lexus LX600 F Sport for over 2 months and by now I’ve developed a really good understanding of this vehicle. The pros, cons and overall takeaways of ownership.
With so many other options available these days, it can be tough to justify the LX over the competition. I’m happy I did though. It’s such a well-built vehicle that has exceptional finishes in and out. The exterior design is sleek and timeless while the interior is beyond comfortable. I love this vehicle but no vehicle is “perfect” I try to remain critical of my vehicles and highlight their pitfalls (even though this really bugs some people haha)…
Quite happy I chose this Lexus LX600 over the 2024 Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro and 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser. Although I am quite tempted by the GX550 Overtrail… 🧐 Time will tell on that though. What are your thoughts of the 2023 Lexus LX600 F Sport? Is there any way you would have specced this differently? Perhaps black interior?

I could look at this car all day. The way I drive my 4Runner, I wouldn't complain about the fuel cost which is what every non owner will complain about. If you are complaining about the grill, you may have totally missed the point. And, if the grill is going to stop you from considering this car, you are the kind that the dealer will persuade and shoehorn into an Equinox so you can try it all again next year. If you ever wanted to get your "rich" money's worth, this is it.

I agree with your opinion on the build of American v Japanese made vehicles. My 2012 4runner limited rides way better than my brother's 2018 Escalade, yet we have 75k more miles on the 4runner and his car is "luxury".

My gripes are that I hate the small gas tank, and the mpg has been pretty bad. Also no warning when your low on gas! 😑

As a basic rule of thumb, stay off of dirt roads if they are wet or if there is a chance of rain.

hate the look of the front grill. But I definitely appreciate the quality of the vehicle however. :)... That right side gas cap (and the lock) is the one thing that took me months to get used to on my heritage LC200.

My parents drive their vehicles until the “wheels fall off”. It has to be totaled or it has to die for them to get something else. They bought a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan in 2005, brand new, and it’s still one of their daily drivers. My Dad drives it 2 hours round trip 5 days per week for work, and also over the weekend for his bmx racing. They won’t get rid of it until the engine or transmission fails. The clear coat is gone on most of the paint. Headliner sagging. Ac doesn’t get cold very fast anymore. They could buy a new car, but they won’t. They spent $18K on it in 2005, and it has served them well. I think it will die this year it next year, but I said that years ago. Still keeps going. 270,000 miles on it. I really hope they’ll consider a Toyota or Lexus SUV to retire with because they want a comfortable cruiser that can tow a travel trailer during their retirement. The American manufacturers don’t make super reliable vehicles anymore.

Love the LXs.. wish they kept the powertrain simple and not go to the turbo route. Im sure she will last 25-30yrs but the verdict on the motor is still a question.

C’mon Untamed…the engineers for Ford, GMC & Chrysler/Stellantis are BETTER than the Japanese bc they design vehicles to literally breakdown @ 99,999 miles so you can buy another of their vehicles ! It’s Uncanny how the Planned Obsolescence Engineering is so precise!🤟🏾🤟🏾

At this price point, I expect a larger full LED Speedometer/and Instrument cluster, no analog gages for the temp, gas, it looks so ugly. More charging ports for phone in rear third row seats, a rear wiper that is hidden and tucked under the rear spoiler so it is hidden, a panoramic moon roof, better ambient lighting, little bit more ergonomic interior design to compete with MDX and Mercedes, better handling and road hugging like the BMW. Issue with the front grille is that it is all plastic, there is no bumper. So if you parallel park and someone backs into your front as they are leaving, your front plastic grill will crack, especially in really cold weather. For these reasons, I did not buy this vehicle. If Lexus addresses the above, then this vehicle will be a serious Range Rover fighter and a contender for the best full size SUV ever made and I will purchase one!

imo the new GX will make the LX irrelevant. I don’t see the LX lasting another generation on sale in the US. We really never are getting another flagship Land Cruiser/LX in the US ever again…

Lexus's are ugly. My sister has a 2023 NX350 ugly car with an ugly grill. A matter of fact, I went with her to drop it off at the dealership for an oil change. When she was with the servicewriter I was walking back to my car and a salesman asked me if I was interested in a new car. I said F no! Your cars are to f'n ugly. I would never buy one. Is that a grill or a car holding up a fence? I'll stick with my 2023 4Runner ORP thank you! 😅

The Land Cruiser just looks better than this Lexus by a wide margin to me. Though this is good looking rig too
