Fraction exponent of negative value is not possible. So we putted .0513^.1 and multiplying result by 500 then putted negative sign after calculating stress as it is compressive.

sir,how you have calculated stress 371.515,,as (-.0.0153)^(.1) doesnot exist,plz explain

Same here

y^(a/b) = (y^a)*(y^(1/b)....so (-.0.0153)^(.1) = (-.0.0153)^(2)*(-.0.0153)^(0.05) = 0.743 because 0.1 can be written as 2/20 Just manipulation of expression refer to this following link if you don't get it math.stackexchange.com/questions/952663/negative-number-raised-to-fractional-power

Sir here AB is true strain so should we use AB=ln(L/95) in the last step Answer is coming same but still just for a better understanding can u please clear this doubt
@naumanashraf80124 жыл бұрын
i was also thinking the same thing....but not able to get the answer...if you have the solution taking strain in consideration then plz send to naumanashraf62@gmail.com

To avoid confusion , just convert everything to our conventional stress strain values i,e engineering stress and strain. In that you need to multipy the net strain i,e (Total - elastic recovery) by initial dimension i,e 100. Answer will be the same.

Sir to ye assume karna hai ki jo flow stress se stess aega it's beyond elastic limit?
@adiraaz77363 жыл бұрын
sir why didn't you use true strain concept at last stage calculation ? and other thing is that if you are taking 95mm as your initial dimension while recovery , can you explain why net length is not coming equal to zero if we assume that 95mm also lies in the elastic region. I mean to say there is a bar of 100mm and now we compressed it to 95 mm that is in its elastic region , then conceptually it should recover completely after load is removed but if I go through your method , net length change after load removal will be 95*(strain) that is different from length change after application of load i.e. 100*(strain) that means final length will not be equal to initial length that is not true for elastic region.

Flow stress will engineering stress or true stress , actually it's depending on strain in it's equatio..if it's true then go for it and if it's engineering then go for it
