Didn't realize how much I was under eating until I started to take diet more serious. Quantity and type of food has really changed training and recovering for me.

Stress level really hits home for me. I was so pissed when no matter how I programed to try to pull 495 it just never seemed to happen, I would always end up with some stupid little tweak around the 400 lb mark. I never thought it was my life and over all stress load keeping me from properly recovering. This caused me to get really aggravated with barbell training to the point where I gave it up for about a year and focused on doing a lot of kettlebell work and walking. I also changed jobs in that year which dropped my overall stress levels a ton. I found I was able to recover from my kettlebell work outs fairly easily so one day I decided to see where my deadlift was at. I just kept adding weight and Ill be damned if I didn't pull 495 without doing any deadlift specific work for over a year.

Every point you make in this video is spot on. I was up in Columbus this weekend and Matt did a bio print on me. It showed that while my training was good my diet and recovery weren’t. It’s getting all of the pieces dialed in so you can be your strongest!

Same Paul. Under eating is an issue I have as well. It has helped using the vertical diet meals Matt talks about. You will notice a difference after getting on a schedule.
