@@ryan19754 it's a well known fact among the sports science community that he natural, the guy voluntarily used get bi weekly PED tests done before major competitions, though off season it was a randomised monthly test. He never failed once and he's one of the reason why drug free federations are on a prominent level today, he left powerlifting because of all the PED use. Edit: The guy was considered the strongest to have ever lived by Bill Kazmaier himself.

@@6subswith0vids80 Well i have to disagree. Since there are no safety bars/straps to hold the weight, they should be able to catch all the weight, if the lifter is fainting or he injures himself. Otherwise hes basically dead there.

This is a RAW 490 kg SQUAT. This lift is sooo underrated it's almost unfair. People outside of the lifting community know about the 500 kg deadlift and don't know about this, when the 500 deadlift is performed with a deadlift suit and straps...

The spotters were lucky that he bailed on that 900 pound fail in the first clip. They would of not been able to lift that weight off of him and Ray willliams could of easily injured himself.

The spotters are not there to lift the entire 900 pounds 🤦🏻♂️, Ray is still there under the bar applying force to get the bar back up whilst getting help from the spotters so most of it is still Ray

@@master_59kg kind of odd that a grown man in his late 20s who's been lifting for years and stuck around a 900lbs squat for a couple years changes his body composition and appearance drastically in about 1 yr then gains over 100lbs on his squat in a short period of time. I think they should strength test the spotters before any major powerlifting meet, there’s no way the spotters on the last squat would’ve saved him if he had injured himself or something. (I say injured because he would still be able take most of the weight if he had just gotten stuck at the bottom). Look up the video “Faulty Spotters at IPF Worlds” for examples of why they need to do this And since I feel like someone is gonna see my profile picture and say “you look skinny you probably wouldn’t be able to help either” you’re probably correct, that’s why I don’t sign up to spot at major meets
