Really enjoying this series! I'm starting a pilates journey for the first time as I was able to sign up for weekly pilates with my college this semester. I was always encouraged to try pilates to assist with joint pain and other issues and now that I'm finally getting around to it I feel like it's going to change my life.... (this is definitely the first time I have felt like I am really working my core, and after doing months of yoga, I noticed that adding pilates has helped my flexibility, they work beautifully together). x

Half way through again. This was excellent as the squats in the beginning were surprisingly easier. Definitely getting stronger through the legs. The bridge was tough as ever, especially with the long leg raises. It not a complaint, I just know that too will get better. Thank you Lottie, you’re the best. x

Dear Lottie, thank you so much for these videos, you are very motivational and have a knack for putting together a great workout that can be done in a short amount of time. My bum was burning during the shoulder bridge with leg lifts, so much, I couldn't remember if I had to flex or point! Doing double Pilates today as I missed yesterday. Onto 'Day 13' then I'm done till tomorrow. Thanks Lottie! 💖

Tried every single workout on KZbin , from yoga to classic circuit cardio and i never found a workout that i enjoy doing or where i don't get stuck with some movement..until now!! Thank you! I really enjoy your video and you are the only one that explain very well the importance of breathing and control! I'm starting to fall in love with pilates ❤❤❤❤🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

Hi Lottie, Thank you so much, your a fantastic teacher, it took me a lot of searching to find the right one and I'm loving each lesson 🥰. I did Pilates about 2 years ago but had to give it up due to an injury but I'm all good now and motivated which is vertually due to enjoying your classes so much. I have been exercising a bit before I started so was getting a bit stronger, especially abs (I was previously extremely unfit and am about 3-4 stone overweight). However I'm so disappointed in myself with some of the moves, for example this day 12 lesson was brilliant but I really really struggled with the bridges when we had the legs up and when I got to the part of doing the little flexes, I couldn't hold myself up so my body/bum was just a few inches from the floor 😖. Was I doing the right thing just to keep trying even though I was hardly of the floor. Thank you so much 🙂

Thank you Lottie🙏. That felt so good to strengthen and lengthen in this way this morning. I feel taller and really connected. And really helpful to watch your movements from the side as well. 💓I had a Cuban drumming and piano cd playing simultaneously which defo brought extra power to the moves 🐱💓

Wowza I am very sweaty after that one!! Do you have any tips on how to keep your hips level when in bridge? I find sometimes that I tip when balancing on one leg. Thanks again Lottie - great routine as always. Need to catch up on day 11, saving it for bedtime! X

So I'm 2 months late into this challenge. I just finished today's challenge and I gotta say it was definitely a challenge. Should I be worried that I couldn't keep my glutes lifted in the bridge exercise with extended leg lifts?

I'm really enjoying the challenge as an introduction to pilates and Lottie is a lovely teacher, but as someone used to yoga and hiit, I wonder if someone could explain to me why there are so many c-curve exercises in pilates? It feels counterproductive to me when we generally spend far too much time hunched over in daily life. Shouldn't we be avoiding that in our workouts too? Not a criticism, just a genuine question. Thank you. 😊

Thank you Michelle, so lovely to know you are enjoying my classes. It's definitely a good query- we spend a lot of time hunching in our every day life which requires awareness to avoid - Pilates is amazing for this. A C Curve done well is very different to this slouched posture. The C Curve is an active and lengthened movement of the spine that strengthens the deep abdominals while stretching the muscles of the back. To extend the spine (back bend) we need to also have strong centring (abdominal) muscles and the c- curves and curl ups really support this strength. We encourage lengthening while pulling the abs back but lifting out of the hips. Hope that's helpful. x

I had breast cancer diagnosed May2019 2 months after my 60th birthday so had a a few months of therapy etc then we had lockdown your pilates classes have helped me a lot and look forward to when your retreats are available again.
