I CANNOT wait until you become Holley Rojek RN, BSN!!! I have followed you right from the beginning when I was taking my pre-reqs and now I'm in my first semester of nursing school! Thank you so much for sharing your journey, it really helps me! You have to make videos when you're a new nurse and all of your experiences! xoxo

Such a powerful and important video. Stress and anxiety are normal. One thing I tell myself is “this too shall pass” When I think of all the things that I once used to worry about I can laugh now because I got over that hump. The stressful times are only temporary

Study schedules are amazing!! They help you see everything on paper so it’s not as crazy in your mind!! Study groups if possible is a big help. Practice questions are also really great with helping you learn the content!

wow. you cannot be human lol props to you for handling it all. I am in nursing school as well, and I have a three year old and its rough. I cant even imagine having four. I definitely agree with making a study schedule and making sure you stick to it. I schedule my study time hour by hour and set a timer. I do one chapter an hour and once that hour is up I stop wherever im at, and move on to whatever else is on my to do list. I will definitely be praying for you!

Ruthie Rock mom of four myself- I will say my husband works two full time jobs so I cannot work- but that also means he cannot always be of any help. All four kids are active with something , which means I’m in my car from 4:30-9:30 every day of the week and some weekends mornings. I too failed my first med surg theory exam- (72 needed 80+) I had 4 kids with strep, flu A and bronchitis. I too got sick week two of school. We do our darnedest for these kids- nursing school is also for them. So if I can be of any help, please reach out to me!

Thank you!! Mom of four here and it is crazy balancing everything. Struggling with migraines adds to it. Homework gets done, somehow, and so does dinner! I have watched you over the last year become so much more grown up and confident. Be damn proud of that! It took me to 35 to figure all that out.

Hi Holley! I love your nursing videos! I am also in my last semester of nursing school and I can feel the stress building as well, it's tough! One thing that has really, really helped me out through school is building relationships with my nursing peers via study groups. I am the nursing tutor for my cohort so every week I host review sessions for those interested. The relationships I build with others keep my spirits lifted and keep me happy knowing I have a group of people who have my back. You got this!

I loved this video! I’m in nursing school as well, 2nd semester Junior! And everything you said was so true! It’s so easy to get caught up in feeling like your falling behind, not trying hard enough or aren’t good enough to be a nurse! But taking it day by day really helps! Taking breaks is key too! I hope your schooling finishes strong and I know you’ll be a great nurse ❤️ Thanks for this motivation!!

Hi Holley! :) I just applied to nursing school & hear in May whether or not I get in - currently being in pre-nursing & having an anxiety disorder as well. I'm busy & overwhelmed studying & I take breaks in between studying to watch your videos because they motivate me SO much & remind me why I am working so hard! Thank you!!! :)

Legit I feel you sista! I did not get a lot of anxiety until I started nursing school. You literally just have to shake off the bad grades and hop on the ball for the next exam. The struggle is temporary, power through, and don't ever let one bad grade get you down.

Nursing school is probably the most exhausting thing I’ve experienced. I’m in my first semester, so I know it’s only going to get harder. My husband tried to take me out to a movie the other day to help me destress, and to spend time together. I fell asleep leaning on his arm 15 minutes in. I felt so bad about it, but he said he was happy I was at least getting some sort of rest even if I didn’t see the movie.

Let me say this: don't expect it to be suddenly wonderful once you graduate! You will feel relief and proudness, no doubt. But the stress continues! I graduated in May and am absolutely miserable. Why? What I thought would be perhaps a relaxing summer has been anything but. From waiting for my NCLEX ATT (took 2 MONTHS), more studying, NCLEX results, then waiting for my license, and job interviews, etc. I am exhausted and pretty miserable. It also sucks to find out that the new grad nursing jobs around me PAY LESS THAN MY CURRENT OFFICE DESK JOB ($30/hr). I didn't plan on nursing for money alone but working twice as hard for less pay makes no damn sense.

I still feel like I DONT KNOW WHAT IM DOING :( I feel like I want this so bad but I’m such an awful test taker... I failed my first exam by a point (78% and higher is passing) I got 76% and failed :( I just feel like everything is against me and idk why. I just want to feel like this is right for me

IF I CAN GIVE YOU ANY ADVICE, LISTEN: My first semester, I felt the exact same way. I felt lost and like I wasn't smart enough. I didn't get the highest grades. SHIT I BARELY PASSED MY CLASS AT 75%. BUT I DID AND KNOW I AM SO MUCH STRONGER AND SMARTER. It comes together, I promise you. Please keep pushing! You have to let shitty grades go. All you have is the future and doing better next time. KEEP. GOING.
