I am graduating as an educator in Berlin Germany. My academy is the most creative, innovative and forward school I have ever visited. We not only learn to educate kids, we also educate each other and learn how learning works by teaching each other!!! I am super happy about the way I am learning and I am sure I will one day be a great educator because of it!

Did I miss the promised strategies for educators? Strategies that specifically relate to students’ or teachers trauma? The title promises “revelations “ but delivers empty rumination about restructuring classrooms on systemic level. There was nothing here that would help a teacher TODAY with his/her work. That’s what Bruce Perry is extremely good at: systemically restructuring, POLICY MAKING.

It's because he understands that the structures around teachers are what make the biggest difference for regulation. Having said that, there are lots of ways teachers can support their own regulation and therefore, that of their students. Observing other teachers is a great way to start and end up with some tools in your toolkit.
