Waaaaaaaaay too much work. If I was inclined to do this threading, I would wear it for at least 2 weeks and I would do it with black yarn after soaking the yarn in an oil.
@ImadeIyamu8 жыл бұрын
hmm that sounds smart, i'll try it your way
@GriimeyStarh8 жыл бұрын
Allison may i ask what the benefits are from soaking it in oil please?
@o34harding8 жыл бұрын
GriimeyStarh It helps with friction and helps to keep the hair strands moisturized. It's kind of the same principle of always wearing a silk bonnet or sleeping on a silk pillowcase.

@VirgoGoddessXxo7 жыл бұрын
Allison you don't have to do it in such small sections, it can be done in bigger sections and if you do it on wet hair you can take it down in 24 hours.... that's what I do. I only do about 10 sections a and I still get a great stretch
@Lucky-uz6jk4 жыл бұрын

you have a very lovely hair. my hair is 4c and it's very coarse and DRY. it breaks like crazy plus a reasonable amount is always shedding when I comb. I am soooo tired of it. thinking of texturising it cause I really don't know what to do again. But this stretching method looks really stressful 😀😀😀 but I guess the result makes it worth it.....
@Neferfifi218 жыл бұрын
Have you tried to loc method ? ( just youtube it). Also find out if your hair is high porosity or low porosity; It helps a lot because if you have low porosity products tend to just sit on your hair instead of nourishing it. But i found good youtubers who have the same type and it helped tremendously. I always thought porosity talk = taking my hair seriously but it honestly helped me a lot when i started struggling with my hair.

This was me. I ended up throwing all those "Natural" products (Shea Moisture, Cantu, etc.) and went back to good ol' fashioned Blue Magic hair grease and water. Give it a try before you take extreme measures. You get a big jar from a drug store for like $3, so you won't take a loss.

This is the absolute first video I've ever watched regarding threading. In the comments, someone mentioned that the yarn can remove the moisture from one's hair; and, they even suggested to dip the yarn in oil before threading. However, your hair still looked super-moisturized and shiny as you were removing the yarn & fluffing, even though you left it in for 2 days. At any time, did you ever apply more moisturizer or oil to your hair during those 2 days?

Thread for weave, acrylic yarn, or even regular yarn is fine, but make sure you dip the yarn in oil so you don't dry your hair out.

I tried African threading a year ago and I did not like how it tangled around my ends, I looked at various videos but the thread still tangled😥 I still desire to try again...
@brsugarbabe8 жыл бұрын
I actually add extensions towards the end of mine because I'm worried about my ends.
@candlecane8 жыл бұрын
You are supposed to add thread across the entire length of your hair and keep adding so you thread past your entire hair. This is the traditional way we thread in Nigeria. This stretches everything, no tangles. Not sure if there is a video on youtube that shows this technique.
@Kpower8 жыл бұрын
I tried that and it works great. The extensions will tangle instead of your ends.

Hey, have you ever thought about threading with like Marley hair or something? And another question, does threading cause breakage?
@mango87148 жыл бұрын
if your hair is dry, not properly moisturized and unhealthy before putting it in
@brsugarbabe8 жыл бұрын
I thread with Marley. However I only put it towards the end of my hair. So I start threading towards the root of my hair, once I get towards he end, I add hair. I do this because i am concerned about my ends and also for length. I only do about 8 and I wear it in a pony tail. I've been doing this on a weekly basis. I really like it as a protective style.

Also, let's say u can't wait two days for your hair to dry & stretch could u sit under a blow dryer and get the same length once u remove the threading ?
@IdorenyinHope8 жыл бұрын
you can thread bigger sections. The issue with going under the dryer is that you still end up using heat so it negates the no heat mantra
@sarahs88078 жыл бұрын
yes. you can make much bigger sections to save time. bigger sections makes for less stretch.
