im new to mtg and watching your videos really helped me out. Not only you create good decks, which we can put to test, but you explain every card and its role - making it much easier for a player like me to know when to swipe out something from sideboard to main deck and how to pilot this deck in certain matchups. Thank you for your work you put in those vids man :)!

I want to make the case for Ixalan's binding, especially in multiples. The sorcery speed might be killing it, but permanently answering legendary permanents is completely amazing. If you cast out a Scarab God, they can still cast another one, but if you Ixalan's binding it, the most popular answer right now is Cast out. If you Ixalan's Binding on the Cast out, you can 1) maybe redirect your binding, 2) never ever get cast out again, getting ever closer to really locking those cards clear out of the game. Idk. Card's been amazing for me in slower games.

Hey Dev, love the deck! Just wanted to say I like that you're upping your content and making an end screen, but I wanted to point out to you that you cannot actually click on those videos and all you need to do is keep the end screen blank (not put on the thumbnails) and then just add them in your creator studio by going to the creator studio, clicking on video manager, then clicking on the title of your video you want to add the end screen and then there should be a tab that says "end screen and annotations" From there you can actually add a patreon button, subscribe button, and video thumbnails that you can actually click on. You can have up to four of these elements on your end screen. When video editing, keep the outro 20 seconds long, because 20 seconds from the end of the video is where you can start to add these buttons. If you want an example check out one of my recent videos and scroll to the last 20 seconds to see what I mean. Hope this helps you!

While i won't be shelling out av. $200,- every time you bring out a deck, and pretty likely will never shell out that amount for a deck, i do very much like these deck techs !! Because let's face it, no matter what deck you play, once you play there is a pretty big chance to go up against (one or more of) these decks. And like the saying goes: "Knowing is half the battle", which i think is especially the case in Magic. So even though my personal focus is on fun budget decks, i still want to be seeing these deck-techs to know what i'm brewing against/for.

I played this deck on showdown. 1st game lose 0-2 vs temur energy 2nd. Game won 2-0 vs bolas preconstructed. 3rd. Tie 1-1 vs femur Energy 4rd. Tie 1-1 against GWU approach. And other showdown. 1st. Won 2-0 vs red deck capture your creatures and fling them. 2nd. Tie:1-1 vs GR Gods energy. 3rd. Loss 2-0.vs Temur Energy 4rd Loss 1-0 vs Black Aggro. So I played it as fast as I could, to avoid ties, most of time I didn't found a winning condition, I'm thinking on leaving it or maybe include some torment of hailfire. Any suggestions?

Been building this deck on the side. Almost finished. Played with it a bit online and was having a hard time. Not sure if I'm playing it too aggressively or just not facing what the deck is intended to answer. My local meta is a little weird but the top players are often playing UB ctrl, UW approach, or energy variants. Will be interested to see how it works, I've got my concerns. I need help. My nephews and I just started playing MTG and we each got an ixalan deck builders toolkit. I was hoping someone could make a pirates/dinosaur/vampire/merfolk deck list ONLY from what's in the deck builders toolkit. I know it won't be good or competitive but i'm interested in what kind of deck you can make.
@razieltaung48457 жыл бұрын
mustang1853 not every toolkit will be identical... many cards will be the same, but not all (thats why they label them as semi-randomized)
@JamFlexx7 жыл бұрын
Just read the cards, pick your favorite colors, and your favorite tribes from Ixalan ! No shame in building your own deck for tabletop sessions, if you really want to step to the next level look up budget deck techs. They are out there
@mustang185307 жыл бұрын
We ended up dividing the three tool kits into the four types of creatures. I got pirates and merfolk one of my nephews got dinosaurs and the other got vampires. I made a b/r pirate, b/b pirate and g/b merfolk. My nephews made a b/w vampire, w/r dinosaur, r/g dinosaur.
@Arghore7 жыл бұрын
+mustang1853 Nice way to solve it :) ... most important is to have fun, esp. when just starting out ... While it will likely be impossible to un-divide the cards (and if everybody is happy then i think you shouldn't - but mostly to let you know: ) the 'normal' way to go about a situation like this is to each play with the cards they got, so everybody has his box of cards and makes the best deck he/she can, and play with those (and try and build different decks for the different play session if you'd want). Then when ever you all feel like it, you each add a booster to the box (or a couple), and keep expanding the box of cards that you can play with. (this is what i generally referred to as a 'toolbox league' )... again though, if you all got what you wanted, combining the contents of the boxes into tribes has given you all much stronger decks each, because you now end up with 4 copies of cards, as well as more synergy in the decks and likely also more stronger creatures over all... One thing that i do not like persee about this way, is that you are less likely to try out different colors, unless of course you play with each other's decks, which i would recommend, so that you all learn how the different colors play by actually doing it... i started with 2 free packs, in 2 colors, and it took me quite some time to get out of that 'comfort zone' of what i knew and try other colors, bit of a shame. So, i'dd recommend to also play with each other's decks, so you each get a better idea of what each color is about, and as such grow quicker as a magic player. :) last thing to mention, do make sure everybody has their land packs (both basic and duals) and the evolving wilds for themselves, and do not divide these up along side the colors of the tribes. This because these cards (basics most noticeably) can be added to every deck, so say one of you decides to go to FNM or Pre-release, or buys another product (bundle f/e) they will be able to build the decks they want because they will have the mana/land cards to build them. (ps. obviously when you all come together to play you can borrow each other's dual lands for the color combination you are playing, but when apart it's going to be helpful to have at least the land cards that came with 'your box' if you get what i mean. :) ... and have fun :) ... ohw, and if you 3 all like magic, and there is just 3 of you, i would suggest maybe all asking a pre-constructed 'Commander Deck' for Christmas, these commander type games are played multiplayer, so you each can play at the same time. just an idea ...
@mustang185307 жыл бұрын
At first we each kept our own toolkits and experimented with a variety of decks but the decks we made were inconsistent and all over the place. Since we split the toolkits up we've enjoyed the decks we made so far. We now can run four copies of cards and overall consistency is so much better. We did run each others deck today and it was an eye opener to how the different archetypes function.(My nephew with the vampires made a surprisingly good b/w vampire token deck today.) Oh and we didn't split the lands up. Question about the Commander decks tho. You stated that "commander type games are played multiplayer". Since there's three of us does that really mean all three of us can play at the same time in the same game ? Any who it has been so much fun playing MTG with my nephews. They ask me everyday since we started "Let's play magic unk !" and i can't turn them down. It's too much fun and it's also a great way to spend time with them. Btw I do appreciate the time and effort you put into your reply. Thank you.

I get why Vraska's Contempt is so good, I agree. But if your main goal is to have answers to the most problematic creatures (Hazoret and scarab god), wouldn't hour of glory be a better alternative?
@chrisladouceur40937 жыл бұрын
L Naveja 1 more mana to gain 2 life isn't that great, true, BUT having it available to stop a Gideon, Chandra, Bolas, or other planeswalker makes it gold. Only other way in this deck is using a Cast Out or beating face. I've got a deck that runs 7 planes walkers competitively. Vraska's is another answer on 1 card
@1AbsoluteZERO7 жыл бұрын
Chris Ladouceur I understand that. But I believe the video mentioned about having creature issues (ie hazoret and the scarab good). Now I do agree if there are Planeswalker issues that Vraska's contempt is a better option, however I think it would be meta dependent. To be honest the only reason why I was wondering is because Hour of Glory is a better choice to completely remove God's from the game

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASEEEEEEE DO GRIXIS CONTROL NEXT‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
@abenz4197 жыл бұрын
Hope you never run into another control deck..... like U/B control or Approach of the second sun control..... having 20 cards in the main deck that can remove permanents means you have 20 cards that are dead in 2 popular matchups in this current meta. So as long as your local meta is nothing but temur and other creature based decks then you got a chance with this deck, if your local meta has even a handful of control players and you're punting game 1 in like 1/3rd of your potential matchups.
@SBMTG7 жыл бұрын
Fatal push is dead game vs UB, but none of the other removal pieces are. They run Scarab God and Torrential so Cast Out/Settle are very much live. Also Field of Ruin is one of those cards that removes permanents, and it's far from dead in that match; ditto Doomfall, which can make them sac a God/Hulk or force a discard. It's a lot deeper than "removal is dead against control"
@SBMTG7 жыл бұрын
Also, we don't punt game 1 vs Approach. We're playing 5 maindeck cards that can rip an approach out of their hand, and a bunch of cards that can deal with Gideon. It's almost like you heard me say "we're playing 20 things that remove permanents" and commented immediately instead of looking at the deck as a whole
@abenz4197 жыл бұрын
you will never sit down against U/B control or Approach with a hand of Doomfall, cast out, and settle the wreckage and be excited about what you have because it may be live in 10 turns. Settle the wreckage can be played around, just ask anyone playing approach right now..... people are becoming aware, and assuming your opponent isn't always going to be the dumbest player ever.... they'll be aware too. Settle can't touch their Scarab God if they're just marching Zombies at your face playing like a semi-intelligent person. It'll probably hit gearhulks more regularly but most likely it's already come in, cast them a spell for free, and blocked profitably before you answered it. In other words, it generated a ton of value for them before your situational spell could give them a land when it attacked. It also can't hit a gearhulk before it attacks, meaning the control deck will have full untapped mana available when they attack which drastically decreases the success rate of Settle the Wreckage. Doomfall is also only situationally good against the Scarab God as well. They have to have less than 4 mana available and have no counter magic, or have no creature in a graveyard to target for Doomfall to touch a Scarab God that has resolved. Relying on it to rip it out of hand is situational at best as well. It's not enough to just be able to resolve a Doomfall against them, you have to do it at a time when they actually have the Scarab God in hand. So no, I didn't just hear you say you have 20 things that remove permanents and comment. I looked at the deck list and said to myself, if half those cards literally do nothing (i.e. Fatal Push) and the other half are entirely situational (i.e. doomfall) then having 20 cards in the mainboard that remove permanents means you essentially have 20 cards that are dead game 1 in control match ups. So, anyone playing in a meta that has any bit of control in it will be punting away game 1 in some number of their potential match ups all depending on how prevalent control is locally for them. I don't know, maybe we just have different definitions of "punting a game", but I feel like when you're playing a deck where half of your non land cards either do nothing or only maybe do something then that should qualify as punting the game especially considering that you'll enter that match up assuming game 1 is a loss every time. I'm not saying it's physically impossible to win game 1, but when you do, it will come entirely as a surprise not as an expectation.
