I wear my boots for pretty much everything except for working out. And the most versatile Red Wing boot, in my opinion, is the blacksmith. Which is why it's my favorite. I also feel like it's a bit of a tragedy that they aren't talked about nearly as much as the moc-toe and Iron Ranger.

I think I’m leaning more towards the Beckmans (roccia sole, leather interior, no speed hooks), but I can see why some people would prefer features of the Blacksmiths (better traction, easier break-in, speed hooks). Both are really nice boots. Can’t wait for Beckmans 2022.

I love wearing my Iron Rangers out because there is this like...brotherhood around them. It's also why I like driving my Subie. Whenever I'm walking down town, almost every time, some guy comes out of the crowd, also wearing Iron Rangers and we high five or fist bump or something and there is something really special about that.

100%, there definitely is a brotherhood with boots. I’ve been at work where I’ve ran into executives wearing redwings. It’s an easy conversation because you immediately have a hobby in common. Suddenly titles and hierarchy no longer matter, just two guys talking boots.

What's the difference between an Iron Ranger and a model 996? Other than the padded top.

I wish the Blacksmith was available in Hawthorne Muleskinner in the US. CJ has a beautiful pair he bought in Europe. I "settled" for the IR in Hawthorne, but my Blacksmiths (Copper RT and Charcoal RT) are still my favorites.

I have three pairs of the 877. As a Union Ironworker it's better to have a few pairs of 877's to switch out and maybe a pair with the toes capped for when I'm welding or cutting with a torch a lot.
