Striking game April update - Overhand Interactive

Thanks for the patience everyone! We've been busy working behind the scenes on some non-gameplay related stuff this month which we hope to share soon.
Here are some of the changes we've implemented over April:
- Reworked skin shaders
- More active ragdoll tweaks. (This something we'll continually tweak based new movesets we get)
- Added extra fighter gear
- Implemented guard/blocking styles (Long guard variations + Dutch guard)
- Implemented dynamic blocking WIP
- Added checking mechanics. Checks deal chip damage to both fighters and are also sweepable
- Added additional movement punch animations (Boxing)
- Added "General Kickboxing" moveset (This is just a generic moveset we've compiled that imitates western variations of kicking techniques)
- Environment updates WIP

You are doing gods work dude. DO NOT give up on this project. There has never been a proper Muay Thai or kickboxing game with detailed movement and mechanics specific to these sports. More people are becoming obsessed with Muay Thai nowadays all of a sudden as it spreads like crazy in the west. this game will eventually catch the attention of LOTS of people man. Keep it up ✨

There used to be this very promising Muay thai game being developed by a indie dev. They disappeared. That game had so much potential. I can see that very potential in this project now. Please, do not quit on this game. We need a proper muay thai game. Although this seems like kickboxing only, i would love to see some elbows being thrown. Anyways, thank you 🙏🏻

This really looks promising. and we need a kickboxing game. for MMA there are EA UFC and UFC Undisputed. for Boxing there are Fight Night and ESBC Undisputed. for kickboxing there are only some ancient japanese games for PS2, barely playable. theres nothing really for kickboxing in the modern era. there was only some Muay Thai game project which was being worked on circa 2016, sadly they abandoned it and it never came out. I hope this will be a big kickboxing game in the market

I think it looks perfect i mean that. This looks better than punch/kicking fighting game ive ever seen and i mean that. There is already no competition when it comes to 1v1 fighting games so i really hope you guys can start rolling out playtest and start implementing some feedback but the graphics look good enough and the animations are beautiful and look very real. Yall notice how there's no hesitation to the strikes, when they let them hammers go it just looks so crisp. This is what EA's UFC games fail at, they choreograph and telegraph too much, which takes away from the immersion. Only thing this game needs now are fakes and feints, that is where the game starts getting interesting. UFC Undisputed 3 had excellent fakes and feints. I hope all is well with this project and team!

maybe this is too advanced to implement i’m not a game developer but i always thought fighting games are too unrealistic with damage especially with how shots like kicks land i would personally at least create a setting for real realistic damage so for example if it’s possible have a system where if a head kick is landed with the very end of the foot it does a good bit less damage than it would it it was the whole shin and i think flash knockouts with head kicks being something that happens more often than not is important in real life if someone lands a headkick their opponent is at least rocked but in games like ufc 5 it’s not the case at all besides damage the game looks really good right now the movement looks really amazing
