I’ve loved the dark angels for a long time. As the first born son of a rather large family I connect with this pressure he must feel. He was the first, he HAD to set an example. I HAD to set an example. I fell into my parents cycle of abusive tendencies, much like Lion did during and at the end of the Horus heresy. Only to come back in the modern swing to break that cycle, and show his sons this isn’t the only way. There is compassion, love for his sons. Both the ones who have remained loyal, and his misbegotten “fallen” sons. He still sets his example as a paragon and protector of humanity. This is a story I’ve very much connected to as I realized not too long ago that I need to help break this cycle. Both for my current younger siblings which I have helped raise, and my future children. This song is genuinely so good, and I love how you made it. This accompanied with your other dark angels song broken wings tells the story of a broken family, one that is slowly coming back together with father and sons. There is love, and compassion. And beneath that is the quiet rage spurned by the forces that drove them apart. Very well done stringstorm. Very well done indeed
