Goodie, goodie...a great way to use my scraps of homespun plaids left from making several Mountain Majesty quilts (Bonnie Hunter pattern). The softness of homespuns is so lovely. Thanks for a great idea

Last couple rv trips I took my sewing machine outside to the picnic table. It was amazing to sit outside, enjoy nature and sew. Very therapeutic and one of my most enjoyable trips so far.

How timely! I just opened up a bag of pre-cut squares (which I thought were 2.5") and found a bunch of 3" squares. I did not know what I was going to do with them. They are not in a color way that I would choose, but there they were. Well! What am I going to do with them ??? VIOLA! Beth to the rescue! I turned the 2.5" squares for a different project and you came along with this quilt! I do not believe in coincidences, so now I have a direction to move in for the 3" squares. I probably have other quilts that you shared with us, but "out of sight, out of mind" ... and, I do have one bin set aside for County Roads quilt. My colors are all dark, daughter's blocks were all pastel. I will at least get a baby quilt out of them, and that pleases me. My day is complete! Thank you. Happy camping!

Welcome to my part of the country, Southern California. Your weather gave it away before you said it. I love what you did with the leftovers. I have a bag of shirt leftovers for a family after wall hangings and now I’m making teddy bears upon their request. All be it not in the great outdoors camping. Bit envious of that part for sure. Happy thanksgiving day to you and yours.

Nice use of shirts. They are such a nice quality of cotton fabric if you are choosy and don't buy a pretty one if it is not the best cotton. Some are mixed fibers and some are too thin. I bought a thin one but use double of it for a block. worked but better to buy the better shirts.

Reminds me of the style of old days, including especially the Depression and WWII when any fabric was hard or expensive to get. Too bad most practical quilts were either worked out or cast off years later when people could get or make "classier" stuff - being practical and useful lost value over the way people wouldn't bother not wasting, just buy new stuff and make something pretty and not as strong and practical. Use the old, and really creative instead of just tossing stuff!
@debbiegodfrey2359Ай бұрын
Thanks for this video and all the others! I have made a couple of your designs. When using shirts, do you use just 100% cotton, or can a poly/cotton blend work? Can you mix both types?
@bethshibleyquiltsАй бұрын
I try to use cotton. Blends don’t do well with pressing.
