I built my only hardtail partscaster three years ago and used a Warmoth strat body with an original Fender 2003 USA fretboard that had to be shimmed upwards for the strings not to rattle (after the bridge was adjusted of course). I'd still do it again though. In fact I've got one more hardtail in the works.
@sarguitars66034 ай бұрын
pay close attention to the thickness of the bridge plate. Hipshot offers most of their fixed bridges in .125" and .175" just for that reason. Also try shimming the bridge up if you don't care for neck tilt. :)

I think it's a shame you never developed a Gecko range of guitars. Is it because guitar players are more set in their ways and bassists more open to experimentation? I think you'd do a great job in a Gecko range of guitars.
@warmoth4 ай бұрын
I think what you say is true about guitarists vs bassists. I'm also happy to report that we have a new Gecko-ish body that we hope to release in 2024! :D

This explains how you've designed the 24 fret extension on your necks, instead of having the heel go further back for a shorter overhang. I'm making my own guitar body, but am not ready to build my own neck from scratch yet. So, I can design around your neck. It would have been easier if there was less overhang, but then it wouldn't fit all those other bodies already on the market.

The video I'd still like most to see: Neck setup straight from the box. Aaron has done a lot of videos testing necks and they all appear to play fabulously. I'll say though, that I've never gotten one to play correctly in short order without a lot of effort. Vintage Modern is easier, but still a struggle. Seems simple -- bolt it on, string it up, make sure it's centered, and then set relief. And yet.... not. For me it's tinker tinker tinker and then somewhere along the line the magic moment happens. Surely there is a tried-true formula?
@warmoth4 ай бұрын
There is no formula for me either. With my own guitars it's tinker, tinker, tinker. With these tests it me struggling through a less than ideal setup for the sake of speed.

That might explain why I can't find a 6 string bass neck compatible with the Yamaha John Myung signature 6 string basses
@warmoth4 ай бұрын
I would guess that's more a case of there not being enough demand for it. It's not worth it to any parts builder to invest the R&D necessary to offer it.

Do you guys do necks that will fit Ibanez guitars? Also, your site doesn't seem to work with Firefox for me.

I don't think the customer service reps would know the answer to this question. Why doesn't Warmoth make a replacement neck that will fit a Paul Reed Smith bolt-on neck guitar? I have a PRS 24 CE that has a wide thin neck which I hate. I would love to have a replacement neck with a boatneck profile and stainless steel frets. Thank you Aaron.
@warmoth4 ай бұрын
Warmoth was built on making Fender replacement parts. The market for PRS CE replacement neck is teeny-tiny compared to that, so we've never felt the R&D was worth it.
@WindsurfMaui4 ай бұрын
@@warmoth With the new PRS CE SE's may enlarge the PRS market for replacement necks.

Perhaps, but they have light years to go before they even show up on Fender's radar.

Does Warmoth offer a bridge rout for the Non Fine Tuner Floyd Rose?
@warmoth4 ай бұрын
It's available as an off-menu option if you call in.
@thought12124 ай бұрын
is there a kahler rout option?@@warmoth
@sarguitars66034 ай бұрын
@@thought1212 yes they do ! Again, Call. It is also an off- menu option, many of which have availability based on what other options you want. Be sure to tell them Whether you are using a stud mount, or a flat mount Kahler. The stud mount requires an angled neck pocket wear as the flat mount does not. My first Warmoth Build has a 2300 flat mount and forgot to tell them which Kaler I was using. I received an angled neck pocket body. Luckily a 1/2 degree shim from Stew Mac installed backward did the trick.

The NFT Floyd is sooooooo underrated. I'm super glad they are offering this now. I adapted mine using a chisel. :/ Floyd also makes a gotoh style replacement bar & collar. I recommend using that on the NFT as well. The original bar is pretty cool, but not practical IMO.
