Well that certainly tested the wing and the rest of the system... well done. The Nano Goblin fit's my needs better where I fly to avoid a drive to a larger open area so glad they came out with the Nano Globlin too that's in a design class all its own right now IMO. But hope they don't stop there and come out with a GPS micro glider capable of LR performance.

Nice job! I knew you'd probably be the one to make this plane go super fast as soon as I first flew mine almost a year ago. It's so slippery I figured it would cruise at 200mph on about half the amps of a Funjet. What did you do to make that big inrunner fit? Did you cut away the fuse and rebuild some sort of mount, or heat up the plastic and expand it until the motor fit inside? What reinforcements to the wing and elevons? Stock servos?

I just ordered the nano with just the 2208 2300 KV and I think that I've got a real screamer to deal with now but of course I want more because that's just for 4S what would you recommend for a good 4S and then success for ballistic speed combo setup any ideas ?

Probably want to keep it fairly tame unless you are going to glass the airframe..With any decent power it will flex too much. I guess a miniquad motor setup of some sort would work best. Aim for 1.5kw on 8s or something if you want it to glass it and go balls out.

You must cut off the wrapping from the esc, remove the heatsink and replace it with a bigger one, and glue it on to the FET's with thermal transfer epoxy. Also, it must have a big cooling vent going directly to the heatsink. Also, do not run for more than 5-10 seconds on the ground as it will overheat. Also measure the voltage and make sure that it is not sagging too low and making the esc cut off for low voltage. I do not recommend the nanotec 65-130c as they are not good anymore, I always use the 3,000mah 6s Graphene, this will hold the voltage even at 200-250amps. I use the stock settings in the hobbyking ss200a esc, so should not need to change those.

Also, it will get VERY hot no matter what you do, this is a set-up running WAY over it's specification, the motor will get very hot too. Please use the metal motor mount that is available on Ebay, this helps to dissipate heat, and also remove some foam around the motor with a dremmel tool, to allow the air around the motor. You must limit full power runs in the air to around 10-12 seconds, then let it cool down. You will get 2 speed runs per battery, no more. What type of connector are you using on the battery? I use the high amp EC5 connectors, there are 2 types, one with a thin metal sheath around the male pins which is no good, the one with the solid male pins with slots in it is the one to use

Yes, but the V1, not the V2, it is the old style with 4 screw holes, and cooling vents on the front and back. Now you can only get the V2 motor which is a different spec and can be identified by 6 screw holes, or the boat motor which is the old spec, but has no cooling holes...

200a HK Esc, or Red brick, or Mystery 200a, all the same really. But you must glue big heat-sink with thermal epoxy and LOTS of airflow, or they will fail.

Fast for sure but the true actual speed should be measured in a standardized , calibrated and controlled manner, not (only) be based on what your OSD is showing for which we don't even know what the speed data source is and if it is even accurate or calibrated, especially on a non leveled trajectory, diving to the ground and obviously with lots of wind. Congrats though for a very fast ship though.

If anything dude may have elevated or descended at most 10 or 15 feet during the point of measuring speed which really aint gonna change crap really besides a couple mph and 9 out of 10 it would take away from his actual speed since GPS is likely using a speed over distance type calculation. Really ,besides an airgate type timer that's triggered by the plane going past it at full throttle then another a few 100 feet away while still wide open, GPS ,like a micro m8n module or the similiar,is actually about the most accurate measurment tool to be used,with a high sat. Count lock throughout prior take off to land at least. Same sats used all over the world to measure distance for maps and to route planes in flight and good enough for military to use as well as Garmin for car travel and pretty damn accurate . Likely its top speed displayed will be more accurate than having two people with stop watches who stop it when the plane flys by them with them spaced so many feet apart ,as human reflex , thought, among things like human error and hesitation alone would make it ,especially at speeds being traveled , to have a slight error margin and the GPS wouldnt have to deal with those things. Ive compared a 12$ micro m8n GPS to radar guns,onboard GPS units and loggers as well as time over distance and with cars travelling at set apeeds that i flew right over and verified speed on gps osd was indeed correct and yet to ever have it be off even 1mph while in a properly locked GPS Fix,which one can review dvr after flight and verify that sat Count never dropped below the number of sats needed for a true lock at anytime ever . Id bet any amount against anyone that my 12$ micro GPS module on a 5in quad displays speeds dead accurate to the mile, once I have a gps fix of course after about 30 secs which id land and disarm and then arm again,and would verify it with time over distance or police issued speed gun, or whatever method thought to be better ,when it was time to collect my winnings👍 OP-- Awesome job man. What fc/osd is that? I fly fpv 5-7in. Mostly for speed amd even my daily flyer freestyle quads I use speed builds and run high kv 6s mostly and get speeds so far between 140-160mph on all 12 of my 5-5.5in setups. Flown large ep helis before but never wings or planes or jets but due to speeds that edf jets can go ive been wanting to give it a go but dont want a monster 1/4 scale and like that the nano goblin is small and was gonna see what speeds can be had maybe.got a 2205 4500kv and apdf340 6s esc that handles it on 6s and eso has a 800k rpm limit so grounds the limit!!!!😁

I mean you can always get interference, have receiver failure or transmitter failure... there are a thousand variables to keep in mind.. a incredibly simple controller can allow you to regain and recover you plane. The autopilot would add even more variables to the risk. You must keep it simple and use judgement and skill, not rely on even more electronics. The speed range is too great for an autopilot, the elevator moves less than 1/2mm full travel at top speed, but 6-8mm for cruising / landing.. I do not fly far away with this plane, only speed runs close by. You must fly in a safe place with no people also!!
