People are concerned about Amber, but she isn't as loved as Eugenia. All the weight loss in the world isn't going to change what she is inside....a self-centered manipulative narcissist who lies about everything. People assume Amber's subs hate/dislike her because she's overweight (a small percentage do) or because she fails at diets, but that's not the case. You can't go on a public platform in front of 105k people, display this horrific behavior, and expect them not to react. It's simply unrealistic.

Exactly. Amberlynn is just not a nice person at all. She could be 120lbs and still get LOTS of hate.

“You can’t shame someone into getting help” this is more than true!
@ShieniLicksOnLemonsАй бұрын
I'm 100% that pretty much every single person out there who makes the argument "I'm just worried, I'm saying this because I want her to get help!" is at worst lying and at best fooling themselves to twist the reality of their actions. Their intentions aren't good. They take pleasure in bullying and simply know that bullying isn't as socially accepted anymore so they need a veil of "caring" in order to do it. If they cared they would actually look up how to help, which is not to act like they do. I know more about Eugenia's case and about anorexia and I can say the issue gets worse the more you bring attention to it. This is what proves to me that the vast majority of people who talk about her don't actually care (I mean the ones who keep talking about her in extremely negative tones, keep calling her names, make fun of her, so many of them will turn around and say they're just trying to help. The person making this video is not one of those people, I think this was generally speaking a very good video)

I love what you’re saying here- I always thought those types of videos came from good intentions but don’t necessarily help the person they’re directed to. As someone who has dealt with a severe mental illness since childhood, I believe the best thing is to “sign off” and have the family confront their loved one & say “until you receive help, I cannot be around you.” It’s very difficult for that person in the moment, but in my experience that was the push I needed to get better.

For anyone advocating for families to abandon or kick out their family member who has an eating disorder: what other mental illnesses would you advocate this approach for? If a family member has, say, schizophrenia that they aren't seeking help for, would you advocate for their family to abandon them or kick them out until they get help? Do you think that would push them to get help? I'm asking beacuse I really only ever see people advocating for this approach with people that have eating disorders, and not other mental illnesses. It seems like people want to acknowledge that eating disorders are mental illnesses but at the same time want to treat them differently from all other mental illnesses, treating them more as behavioral choices than as true mental illnesses that, just like all other mental illnesses, is in part beyond the conscious control of the sufferer. Think long and hard about abandoning your family members/close people who have eating disorders. You may think you are giving them the push they need to get help, but depending on the person, you may just be pushing them over the edge. Even if done with the best intentions, withholding love and support from someone is a punitive measure, designed to coerce them into changing their behavior. Source: my close friend with an eating disorder killed herself after her family said they wouldn't interact with her until she got help. Her relationship with them was the only thing giving her any reason to try to treat herself more well and they took it away from her.

How these two are still alive is something..... Much less still living "independently"..... The human body amd its ability to survive never fails to amaze. Still, i feat both are in very serious trouble. Especially Eugene Cloney. 😢

Euginia has something Amber does not. A caring, beautiful, loving, sweet, soul and heart. Amberlynn is a shitty person. She is manipulative. No matter how beautiful her face is, NO AMOUNT of outer beauty could mask her shitty attitude or dim her insatiable need to make others around her feel lesser than. Is it fucked up? Definitely. Is it true? Unfortunately. The only thing besides a diet and life style change that will help Amber, is inpatient psychiatric rehab. To work on her inside. All, or most anyway, of Ambers "haydurrs" were at one point rooting for her. Going at mean people in the comments for being rude to her. Not understanding why people are so fucking cruel. In her corner, standing up for her until we were blue in the face. All for her to just tell us to fuck off. All for her to shit on us over and over again. Deep down in (most of) her haydurrs are still secretly rooting for her and wanting her to win. But it's hard to send love and positive vibes to someone who thinks they're better than you. Someone who is SO SMUG and just rude. Euginia is a sweet girl trapped in a hard time. Amber is a shitty human, trapped in a shitty situation. Idk why I am writing this novel you probably won't read or care about. I can see the concern in your eyes and the hurt in your voice as someone who has been there before. You are right about a lot of things you said in this video. And as far as eating disorders go, YES, euginia and amber are two sides of the same coin. But personaility wise, and what they each have shown to the world as their hearts and souls, couldn't be more different. Just wanted to maybe open your eyes a little bit as to why Amber has the audience she does. I can see this was hard for you to do. Thank you for being brave enough to tell your ED to fuck off for a second so you could get some shit off your chest. Good for you 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

I don't think abandoning someone is helping them. It will cause more stress for them and their destructive behaviour will get more destructive and they might die as a result...
@restingsadface2 ай бұрын
people only get angry when you try to force them to get better / dig their heels in even more. temporarily loosing their support system could potentially stress someone into getting better so they can get their support system back asap. it’s not instant gratification but imo patience & distance is better for everyone involved…

how about you just stop harassing people and giving them clicks. how about that.
@Rar-u2fАй бұрын
If you can't help someone or they won't accept your help, but you still try to make yourself heard, it becomes harassment at some point Abandoning isn't helping but it's sometimes the only choice you have, other adults are responsible for themselves. The moral obligation to not abandon someone is only arguable if you're a close friend or family

Hey I know this is an old video but I am pretty disturbed by the way an anorexic woman and a superfat woman are treated as 'mirrors' in this video. You thankfully put an emphasis on the acute dangers of extreme binging and mention yoyo dieting as a bad thing. You don't directly shame Amber's body. But it's still quite a strong implication. They are not mirrors, and treating them as that misrepresents either how EDs work or how fatness works. Specifically the idea that a superfat person should be given the cold shoulder until they pursue weight loss is extremely disturbing if you have the full picture about weight cycling and atypical anorexia. I'm hoping what you are actually saying is 'don't give someone attention for binging and dieting' but you were not explicit in your condemnation of deliberate weight loss and thus have many people in these comments clearly under the impression you meant the former. You seem like a genuine and curious person, so here is a reading list: - the article No Health, No Care by Marquisele Mercedes - the 'for professionals' section of no weigh dot org - Belly of the Beast by Da'Shaun Harrison - Aubrey Gordon's books and podcast

I certainly would never imply that fatness is an issue, and I’m sad if anyone took that from this video. In Amber’s case I’m most concerned about binging because it is physically dangerous, her weight is not a thought in my mind. There is no moral value to any size body and I’d rather everyone feel comfortable where they are at. I appreciate your thoughtfulness and I will definitely look into those references mentioned and perhaps make a follow up to be more clear in my approach to these topics. ❤️
